Is it possible to minimize camera soft on xperia, and continue to record?
Or is it possible to at least turn off display while recording is in progress? (power button which according to manual should turn off display, turns off recording too).
Maybe there is some 3rd party soft that allows you to do this?
TIA Marek.
another "spycam"?
Something like that.
But also thing to use, when you want to record something really long. My card is enough large to fit almost 10h video there. When screen is on, battery would be dead in less then half of this time, and phone may get pretty warm when back-light is on for such a long time.

I checked the power settings(I set it off after 1 Min),but the phone display is on during calls. It's on for 6-7 mins, not turning off. What to do? Please rep ASAP
Just press the power button on the top of the phone, and it will turn the screen off. Well thats what i do any way. Try it out
Dont hold it for to long otherwise the phone will turn off, just give it a quick press!
Download XperiaTweak v2.0
Hi,
I have the exactly opposite problem. I have installed XperiaTweak (current version) and enabled the option "Disable Screen Turning Off during calls", but it's still turning off after a minute (like the normal standby settings...).
Do you know the registry key etc. for that feature so that I can check the settings?
regards
Nils
Whats most retarded is why we can't have what the iPhone ALREADY does...
the Xperia X1 has a front facing (near your ear) light sensor. It should turn the screen off when it is next to your ear, and turn it on when you move it away from your ear... JUST LIKE HOW THE iPHONE DOES IT.
I mean, something this simple... why hasn't it been implemented?
Think about it. Why put the light sensor near the ear then? When not put it on the side or something? because obviously someone thought that, well, when the phone is near the ear, it will go from light to immediate darkness, and when moved away, dark to light.
Why cant we have somethign this simple? Or anyone know of a workaround or third party app?

The X1 as you probably know has no light sensor or accelerometer, so there is no way to interpret when the phone is at your ear or otherwise.
FingAZ.

Actually, it does have a light sensor. What else do you think automatically adjusts the screen's brightness? This really is an ingenious idea, can someone cook up an app that runs in the background to do this?
I want to have light during call all time I tray Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3 and did not find nathing no option on battery display or call thet will keep my back linght on durring call some idea?
And the touch pro 2 does have the feature to turn off screen when you put it to your ear. Devs?
I hate how when I'm on skype on the phone and the screen dims, cutting off my wifi.

Use Advance Configuration Tools to fix this by enabling Wifi during standby.
When I launch the camera, the screen must turn on.
When I press the power off function, the screen is truned off but I can't take a photo.
Any software to soft this problem?
Thank you!
WKtasks function>Backlight off from ok-button long press and AEBPlus actions screen to do that.
CoolCamera
I've tried these 2 applications, but they both don't turn off the display when recording or shooting.
Out of curiosity, why would you want the screen off anyway? Surely that means you'd have no idea what you're taking a picture of?
In fact, I am a detector. I always need to spy on someone and take photo secretly.
I'm experiencing a problem with the automatic screen rotation sometimes. Basically when rotating the phone from vertical to horizontal the screen doesn't follow the movement. The only way to solve this is to put the phone vertical again, wait few seconds and then rotate it. I've already tried the usual movements to try to help the accelerometers to capture the movement but nothing, even turning the phone vertical quickly doesn't work, it has to stay vertical for a few seconds.
Also it doesn't happen all the time, but only sometimes (I've noted this while watching videos on YouTube)
Anyone experiencing this? I'm on stock rom and i really hope it's software and not hardware related.
I think this might have something to do with moto action. Some of the actions piggy ride with the accelerometer so it might thinks you're about to do moto actions but fails to fulfill the conditions. Hence, it leaves you without any response/feedback.
Hi.
I have the following problem when watching long videos such as films, sports etc. on my p30 pro.
Other phones have a feature where they can tell that you are looking at the screen and while you are looking the screen will remain on, however the p30 pro doesn't seem to have this as far as I can tell. At least I am unable to find it if it does.
The maximum setting for the screen timout is 10 minutes. So, if I am watching a long video I actually have to touch the screen every 10 minutes to stop it from turning off!
This is going to get pretty annoying if I can't find a fix.
Is there something I am missing here or does anyone have a workaround?
Thanks in advance.

Try removing the video player you're using from battery management so it doesn't get put to sleep, maybe that will prevent screen timeout
Does your battery saver settings are off?
Settings-Battery-saving mode off (all)
When they are activated there is a leaf in the battery icon.
When it is activated, my screen turns off also automatically while playing games or others and not touching the screen for a while
This setting doesn't seem to be working for me, and this is one of the biggest features I want enabled. I would think could be a massive battery saver, but also extremely convenient. Reading a long article online, sometimes I'm just staring at the screen, not moving touching the display, and makes so much sense for a Face ID thing to see your eyes focus on the phone to keep it awake. But then I would guess can save battery, as when your done viewing the phone, and put it down, the screen turns off.
Android Q adds support for a Smart Stay-like “Screen Attention” feature
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-q-smart-stay-screen-attention/
Settings > Display > Screen attention
I enabled this in the settings, then I set my screen time out to 15 seconds, to save battery, but thought this "screen attention" thing will keep the screen on for me, when reading news and stuff , as the face ID thing will scan my eyes keeping the display on. Well it doesn't seem to work, if I just stare at a web page for longer than 15 seconds, the screens turns off.
Huh, wonder if the dwell time is just too short. Samsung's version didn't work well for me with less than 30 seconds.
Works for me. It does say that it uses the front facing camera so maybe it doesn't work in poor lighting.
Screen Attention doesn't seem to work for me? I have my display set to 30 seconds to shut off, but if I read an article on my web browser for 30+ seconds, the screen fades to black and turns off.
I have Motion Sense on, but not everything enabled, but I do have Lift Wake, and Reach to wake, and Tap to wake enabled.
Unless there's some other setting I am missing specifically for Screen Attention to work?
Screen Attention has so far been hit-and-miss for me. It appears to be working most of the time, but I have also had it on when the screen just dims and shuts off as I am reading. No poor lighting issues here. This was observed in daylight.
Works for me without issues... How do you hold your phone. Maybe you need to have a thumb in front of the screen so that soli can see something there?
The feature uses the camera. Mine has worked fine but I'm on 1 minute.
Mine never seem to work besides the first day. It's just easier to set the lock to 1 minute and don't bother with screen attention.
