Lock screen while talking ?

Hello guys,
I need to have my phone locked while talking coz my ear touching the screen launches unexpected apps.
please help.
Thats strange as when you put the phone near your ear/head when making a call the screen goes off which stops you from pressing any buttons accidentally. Although i usually press the middle button to turn the screen back on but even if i got the phone pressed against my ear and shoulder...ive never ever started any un-necessary apps.
Maybe get your ears fixed by the doctor.

what you want is default in 99% of the phones.... there are a lot and i mean a lot of posts here asking for the contrary: keep the screen off !
somebody finally discovered that all the registry tweaks are not working because this is triggered by the light (or motion' or both) sensor (keep yr phone face up when ringing and the screen does not go off).
you must be the only soul that is complaining that his screen is not going off
anyway try a search and you'll find lots of info. try also the pinned tweaks thread.

Please help

s-pen problem & i can not answer call

Hi guys
I am not sure if this has been posted before, i did a quick search but nothing shows up.
Sometimes If I hold the pen close enough (but without touching) the screen would annoyingly picks it up. The problem is way more apparent if I hold the phone upside down, with the screen facing downwards and holding the pen inclined at an angle. Is this a common problem?
also >>
On incoming calls the screen will not lock and not allow me to answer the call. I am unable to slide the "answer bar" across the screen, to answer calls. It won't move. This does not happen on every call but on average about 6 out of 10 calls. I went to the Verizon store and they could not make the problem occur and said they have never heard of this problem. Has anyone else had this happen. I'm trying to determine if this is a hardware problem with my phone of if it is a software problem.
what we can do , i think we should send this conversation to Samsung , i dont know how ask Samsung about this problem , if any one can send link of this conversation to Samsung may be they replay , if it is hardware problem we will go to agent , if software we can solve it online
please please please we i need help
spen
spen has its calibration and when the phone is upside down
(or even tilted,..) it tends to lose itself.
It happens with everyone. So you are not alone.
first thank you , so what about a i can not answer

[Q] Display doesn't turn on during / after a phone call

Hi!
Because I didn't get any answer in the help-thread I try it this way.
When you receive a phone call on your XZ, does the screen turn on again when you move the phone away from your ear?
This problem drives me crazy! Every phone call (active and passive...) the display of my phone turns off (as it should) when I put the phone to my ear. When I put the phone away from my head, the screen doesn't turn on again. I always have to press the power button to enable the display again. In rare cases, the display turns on as it should. But when a phone call is longer than a few seconds, the display won't turn on again.
The only reason for this problem I've found on the internet is the usage of a screen-protector. Actually I have a screen protector installed, but is has a cutout around the proximity sensor. I've also tested the proximity sensor with an app - it turns on/off correctly when I move my hand in front of the phone...
Does anybody of you experience this issue? I've tried a lot of firmware versions, but it's everytime the same... No matter if I use CM10.2 or different stock roms...
I hate it so much - not being able to stop a call before being redirected to an answering machine only because this piece of shi*** refuses to turn on the display during a call.
I'm looking forward to your answers - I can't imagine that my XZ is the only one that shows this behaviour.
Regards
is there really nobody with any screen on/off during call problems? can't imagine that my XZ is the only one... or is there an android-"feature" I donn't know?
I've already removed my screen protector... but nothing has changed...
I also have this problem frequently, i enabled power button to end calls under accessibility setting so if i press it, it ends the call, so could be partial solution to allow you to end calls, but not a real solution at all if you want an option not to end the call but to have the screen turn on only. Let me know if you find any other solutions

Actually stopping phone calls isn't my main problem. But it annoys me that I can't check the current time by removing the phone from my head for a second. Also when I have to interact with an answering machine (windows activation hotline for example^^) - everytime I have to input a number during a call this f*cking screen is off and I have to press the power button.
Don't people use their XZ for making telephone calls? Am I the only person on earth who uses the phone for other things than watching movies and surfing the net?
I also want to know if this is a general Jelly-Bean problem... If so, replacing my phone with another one would be meaningless.
Press the power button twice to activate the screen during call.

Pressing the power button ONCE also works to turn on the screen during a call. But that's the point. I do not want to press this damn power button. What does the phone has a proximity sensor for??? When I start a call and remove the phone from my head after a few seconds, the screen will mostly turn on itself. But after a while (a minute or longer) moving the phone away from the head will not turn on screen anymore...
Is it too hard for phone manufacturers to build a phone that can be used as a phone? If I wanted to have a tablet I would have bought one...
Problem solved. I have a Nexus5 now and it is just awesome. May the new owner get angry with this piece of sony sh*t.

Turn off phone
Press firmly on proximity sensor
Turn on phone
Once on main screen
Press firmly on proximity sensor
Try to make a call
I hope it works for you
Sony experia z1 how to on proximity sensor.

Sony Xperia z (yuga) Ear Speaker Issue

The ear speaker issue in xperia z (yuga) is well known. As we know ril of xperia z is broken in usually all latest android lp based roms (expect stock) i.e. we can't hear the caller or caller can't hear us. And we always blame it as ril issue. Ok let me explain my motive for this thread. I want to clear chances that it could be a hardware issue and if you know that i hav method to detect the problem, reason and its solution (which is specefic or may not work).
After searching on google for long time i hav conclusion.
Reason
1. Ril issue (software related)
2. The speaker failure (solution is not applicable) due to water or impact
3. The overheating of the phone cause melting of resin which hold the back panel. Due to melting, The back panel starts to open on the edges or corners of the phone. This cause loose grip of back panel on ear speaker and it stop working.
Ok these were possible reasons
How To Detect
1. If you are on stock rom just dial *#*#7378423#*#* and then device check.
2. If on custom rom just download "Xperia Diagnostics" app which perform same functions.
During test if the speaker not works then it could be a hardware issue.
Solution
1. Try to avoid the overheating of the phone which is usually caused due to the heavy gaming and browsing. (Which is practically not possible )
2. Run any one of the method mentioned above for detecting problem if speaker doesn't works then during the testing process press the area near to speaker from front as well as area around the rear camera and secondary mic. (Worked for me)
Note- Dont press too hard or it will break the phone's display screen.
If you find this thread helpful, then don't forget to hit "thanks"
My phone gets super hot when navigating long trips (across europe for example), this is probably how i messed it up.
For me pressing the corner left of the camera lens helped, and along the left edge from the power button upwards to the left corner (both locations looking at the backside). Also slightly twisting the phone does the trick.
thanks for the hint!
