HELP! Can't Load Rom - Don't Want A Brick!

Guys,
I just tried to upgrade to a new ROM on my Cingular 8125. I have upgraded from the original rom to a Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 Rom a while back. This time I tried to load Ell's AKU 3.2 Rom.
Anyway, my computer locked and restarted during the flashing process (99%)
My phone turns on and shows the colored bar screen (is this called the bootloader?). This is all it does. I'm not sure how to try and fix this. I'd like to try and reflash a rom; however, if I try to do that I get Error 260. This error says it can't find the phone which is easy to understand since Activesync can't connect since the phone won't boot.

i had this very proglem... TURN OFF THE PHONE ASAP.. as the bootloader screen will drain your battery very quickly.... reset computer and phone... plus in the USB cord.. and in the booth loader screen in the lower left corner.. you should see USB!!! just flash workin room.. and you should be set to go.. i believe>.

When I plug the phone in it does show USB in the lower left corner; however, The rom update utility can't see the phone.
Am I doing something wrong or should I be trying to install the rom in another manner?

hmmm i dont know... try restarting both devices.. other then that i cant hlep ya.. im still new to this...

USB means it is connected.
Again, keep the battery out when you aren't doing the flash. Reboot the PC in case the link is down.
Try flashing a stable ROM, like the Mr. Clean one you used before. Activesync doesn't need to operate, the ROM will see the wizard if the wizard says USB.
Zonealarm actually interferes with my ROM flashes, although it prompts me to see if it is ok; you might turn off your firewall prior to doing the ROM flash. If you do so, disconnect from the web.

I have also the same problem with my XDA 2 mini or the other called this the HTC Magician. I try to UPgrade my Radio 1.03 to 1.12. and when im applying the upgrade procedure the Upgrading stops and error. What happen now is my XDA 2 mini or HTC magician doesnt open now. only the word "SERIAL" and when i plug the USB, the word "USB" show on the screen................... Is there some one can help me pleasssse with my problem....

diamond bricked :( HELP!!!

Its working now - keeping my fingers crossed... it obviously wasn't bricked... i don't know what happened but all i did was flash the radio to what it came with 1.00.25.05 and voila!
guys i need help... i think my diamond is bricked - maybe someone here could tell me if it really has or is there a way out.
the first screen appears the touch diamond screen, and then the windows screen (the green one) and then it restarts... and this is what keeps on happening...
any idea? any help would be much appreciated!

Have you tried a HARD reset?

tried hard reset - no help

Maybe the ROM is corrupted on yuor phone. Try getting to bootloader and flashing again.

i got into the bootloader - connected it to the USB - shows USB on the bottom... how do i flash a rom then? CustomRUU? or is there a way to place the nbh on the internal storage?

There's No way to place it on the internal storage if you cant get into Windows. This is why I always keep a copy of my current ROM in the Internal Storage, so i can reflash if I need to.
Try doing it over USB, it should still work.

tried a couple of times... restarts... either at 10% or 12% or 23%... tried rebuilding the nbh as well

it just restarts randomly!

rom flashed, radio flashed - still restarts
flashed ROM & Radio... but problem still there... restarts after first windows green screen

if its under warrenty, flash original ROM, Radio and SPL then send it back as faulty

hey thanks man - you gave me the idea of going back to originals... i only went back to original radio and it's working

your phone probably didn't like that particular hard-SPL version.

SE Updater failed to install new rom, what is the best thing to do now?

I know you guys got some excellent walkthroughs, roms, programs and threads where you've helped a lot of people out but I could really use some personal feedback. I had hoped to fix my phone using one of the excisting threads but unfortunalty I can't get it to work with those.
My problem is one I've seen more of in here, I used the SE updater and it froze at 53%, I did what the program said, reconnected and it froze again at 12%, and again, again, etc. So I disconnected thinking it might be a bad USB port. But then the updater didn't recognise my phone at all. So I used the mtty program suggested in some of the threads and I got past the red/green/blue screen but now it's stuck at the Sony Ericson logo, as if WM6.1 is gone.
This is what the red/green/blue screen currently states:
KOV110
SPL-0.78.0000
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707
From what I gather this means I can't flash roms, right? I tried making it a hard-spl but when I use the tool it says it can't connect.
So is there anyway to get a rom on it and bring it back to life?

Get an original rom from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
copy .nbh file from the package onto your sd card and rename it to : Kovsimg.nbh then bring phone into boot loader via : vol down + power.
It should flash the rom now. i the problem is still present after that you
have to deal with mTTy but first try the flash...
i think you could also bring phone into bootloader without sd card inserted then connect usb cable, display should now print 'USB',and after that start rom update utility.

Thank you for your reply, I will do as you said although I've already tried something similiar to this. I believe the problem was that I couldn't flash roms from my SD since I don't have the hard SLD. But I will try it anyway as soon as I get home.
In the mean time I would love to hear more ideas about how to fix my phone.

You really need have to flash the HardSPL first as, based in your above post, you still have not done that. It will be useless to flash cooked ROM with that. If you can still power on your phone and you have an activesynch in your computer, i suggest you download the HardSPL first and update your phone using your PC. If you are successful doing that, then you can flash all you want.

original roms will still work with original spl... but nevermind =P

My phone can still power on in the sense that it shows the Sony Ericson logo or that I can access the three collor screen. But it won't launch WM6.1. I also have a problem with updating to hard DSL. It does recognise my phone because without it connected the program finds nothing and with the phone connected it wants to start updating. It says ''updating from image version: (emply) to image version: 1.00.X1 Ipress next and it opens a progress bar on both my X1 and the PC. But it never goes beyond 0% and then gives me an connection error. I think it has something to do with not being able to get passed the Sony Ericson logo. I mean the hard-DSL program does recognise my mobile but activeSync is never active because my PC doesn't recognise a WinMobile phone (since it wont go past the Sony Ericson screen)

Really? That might fix my device then. Could you suggest a rom from the long list? Perhaps one that works on all versions? Because I'm dutch but my mobile has always been in english so I'm not sure what rom version I had. Except that it was identified as an R2 Rom by the Sony updater before it killed my X1...

I'm now downloading the initial dutch R1 firmwire, could that one work?

Alright so I got an R1 original rom (I now realize that the R3's were originals aswell) and it worked! I'm not sure if it was the different rom or the formatting with FAT32 that did but it works again. So I'd like to thank everyone who was kind enough to reply.
The device is incredibly slow now but now I can use the hard-DSL installer, right? DOes anyone have a suggestion for a good rom to use?

DON'T hard-spl if you're going to flash a stock ROM. And especially if you're going to use SEUS.
Try flashing the R3A first. The R1s are way slow, as you've seen.

error 262 on HardSpl need advice

Not a noob to this, but new phone.
I have a Rogers GSM Xperia x1a
and i have tried everything i have read, and am simply trying to flash hardspl on this so i can continue onto doing a rom.
The PC gets to progress bar.. 0%
x1a matches 0%
never moves on either end,
then error 262 is displayed on PC
and i then need to remove battery from x1 to get it to reboot.
someone somewhere has had to bypass this.
I am in need of that knowledge.

ok, so i have been able to flash a rom, without hard spl....
and when i did this my spl is now 0.72
but i can only flash this one rom, and i dont even know what rom it is.
so im even more lost now.

i don't know witch windows do you have but try just to run the custum ruu with coptability mode win xp sp3

using vista, and it has to do with hard spl. or the phone itself, as i can update roms if they are stock updates.

Usually the 262 error has to do with not hard spled or not properly hard spled. Try to install hard spl again and check the tri color screen if it has really been installed.

well, i have no idea wtf i did.
well i do know i didnt do anything LOL
i decided to run hard spl 1 last time.
and ill be damned it worked.
no clue why but it worked.

just one advice. Please remove your Storage card before HardSPL X1
or else u will get error....while HardSPL

touch screen does not work at all

Hello. Yesterday morning when i woke up suddenly my touch screen did not respond any more. I try reinstalling windows or hard reset but now i can not even get over tap the screen.Please help me. You already helped me once when i was going to throw it away because i thought it's a hardware problem and it was a software one.I did the soft reset and leave it for a day then it worked but when i wanted to charge, it happened again and i have the same problem now.Any way a thing it's certain it is a software problem.If you have other advice please help.

I tried installing lots of roms hoping it will be fine. but now i installed a 6.1 version of wm and when i try installing wm 6.5 it stopes in loading screen and the pc gives me an error conection.What about this?

Moved as not ROM Development.
Place a welcome.not file on root of storage card can be a .txt file but change the extension doesn't want to be welcome.not.txt this will get you past all the configs on setup.

I did as you said and it worked but that was not the problem.The problem is my touch screen not responding.And it's not a hardware problem because if i did as i have been told to fully charge the phone, then do a soft reset and leave it for a day it was as new.But when i try to charge it again i got the same not responding screen. Now after all this i have another issue and that is when i try doing a soft reset the phone resets and it sopped on gray screen with Loading... and the pc gives me error connection. So i get this only i put a 6.1wm. Is this the reason for not letting me change the wm to 6.5 one? i will go crazy with these strange things that are science but have no explanation. Where is the science then? What you did was to allow me to use the phone without touch screen. Well...thank you, but i know there is a way to get the phone normal again and that is what i need you to help me with. Thank you. Catalin

Are you Hard-SPL'd?
Regards problem if software then flashing a different ROM even stock should be able to tell you, i know you think not hardware but if repetitive then maybe you just fluked the being ok again.
Anyway flash another stock ROM, then if fine flash a 6.5, you don't have to use computer as can flash via SD.
