How can i take photos using the front camera? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way that i can take pictures using the front camera? Is there any program or something else that i can use to do that?

Camera app from X1 can do that!
Just go to the camera app settings and change from "back camera to "front camera"

i can't find that setting, whaere exactly is it? Can you tell me what to do?

Open the camera app
Press the bottom right button for settings
When that screen opens press the bottom right button again
When go to the top tab and it is the first option

ok i found it!!! thank's a lot!!

Camera Button not working

Hi there,
For some reason the camera button on my kaiser stopped working. whenever I press it I get the message attached. If I start the camera from the programs interface and I use the Dpad button to take the pic everything works all right. Anyone having the same problem, or anyone knows how to fix it?
have you tried reinstalling the camera?
theres a polaris camera cab for the kaiser floating around somewhere
Did you use the camera cab? If you're using a shortcut to control camera by linking it to a button, check the button shortcut properties. Also, this can happen if your device security is on or if you moved the .exe.
First go into settings/buttons & reassign the camera to the correct button. You may want to use the browse function & make sure you assign the .exe in \windows instead of any .lnk shortcuts you may use. Then try re-installing the camera app. if that doesn't work.
Have you checked that the button is still assigned to the camera.
Start>settings>Buttons icon.
If the camera works ok by going to programmes then the camera is fine, it's just the association to the button that's either broken or has been reset by accident or by a new installation.

I feel really stupid! I should have checked what button 4 is atually for. I got confused by the icon of the button, which represents a tape, so I thought that was the recording button.
Thank you for your help!

[Q] Camera help

Hello,
Is there an app or a setting that I can take pictures with just simply tapping anywhere on the screen and not the actual take shot button? this is kind of annoying. thanks in advance.
As far as I know, there isn't any mod to touch anywhere to take a pic, but if you get sgstools from the market, there is a camera hack in there that allows you to take it with the power button.
I swyped this with my butt, using the XDA app.

Launch different camera app with dedicated camera button

As the title says, is there a way to change the app that's launched? I use the pro version of camera fx and it makes a huge difference for automatic pictures! It would be awesome to launch it with the camera button rather than a app icon on the home screen! Thanks in advance guys

Of course.
Just go to settings/app and find camera app (it's under "all" tab) and disable it.
Now press camera button and your app should start.
Many camera apps have option to set it as a default camera, are you sure there's not option there.
This advice should work - it worked on Xperia S and "better camera".

Can you be more specific about the difference bit ?
I've heard nexus 4 people say it helped with blur free shots as it reads the accelerometer and waits to get a steady shot.
Anything else ?
hm somehow that's not working for me. if i set camerafx to default i get no popup where im asked if i want to use it as default after i hit the camera button. its working when i disable the stock camera app - but only when my screen is on.
when the screen is off and i press the camera button i just get to see the homescreen but camera is not launching - i have to press the button again then.
any suggestions?
Not working for me either.. Still uses sony camera

I'm in the same boat as you mate, tbh i don't mind though just have to press it twice. Still allot easier than opening an app?

It just takes way longer that way. If you want to make a quick snapshot you're gonna lose the Moment.

Yeah it has a really good stable shot mode that waits for the best time to take the photo, but tbh the automatic mode is set to 20mp by default and just takes better shots with way less noise!
What app are you guys exactly talking about? Pro Camera FX? Camera Zoom FX?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom here you go mate

so did anyone manage to launch another cam than stock by pressing the camera button "once"?
this is really bugging me, i tried everything. installed default app manager, set cam fx default and disabled stock cam. still if the screen is off i have to press the button twice. (first press gets me to homescreen and i need to press it a 2nd time to launch cam fx).
Please Help
Ok, i have had a problem. The dedicated camera button is to sensitive on my Xperia Z1 so it just launches the camera by itself, and in my pocket, which is very annoying. I have tryed to disable the camera and then it don't launch the camera, but it unlocks the screen and vibrates. And if i am in snapchat or any other camera app it just randomly takes a photo because of the button. So is there any way to disable the button completely? i have a rooted Xperia and my bootloader unlocked. Please help me!

[Q] camera not working properly after root, pic attached

This is what the camera looks like. taking up less space than usual. also none of the camera buttons / options work, i can only take photos with volume keys. cant change to front camera or adjust any settings
(Camers isnt using whole screen, the entire thing takes up only the top right corner.
Lastly, the bottom left touch button to flick between open apps/ programs isnt working either, and keyboard occasionally freezes.
And idea how to fix?
I rooted and using XPOSED.

Try app settings and change the resolution to the size of your screen and that should fill up the screen, not sure about your button problems

Two shutter buttons on the Camera Screen????????

Don't know how or when it happened, but I just noticed it this morning. I have two shutter buttons on my camera screen. (See photo). They both work, but I do not know how the second one got there or how to remove it.

It's a movable shutter button. You can turn it off in the camera options (scroll down to the "Floating Camer Button" toggle)

@Mr. Moe That is called "floating camera button". It adds an extra camera button that you can move anywhere on the screen in Auto and Selfie modes. You can turn it off by opening camera app and tap on gear in upper right corner and then scroll down to deselect floating camera button. Hope this helps.
