(Q) how to prevent apps from starting on boot - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to do it? Adv task killer shows about 10 apps that start on boot... trying to figure out how to prevent them from doing so.

Manage apps which run on startup/boot?

Hi
I was wondering if there's an app available which manages the apps which automatically start during boot up.
I have some apps installed on my Hero which are starting during boot up but I don't want them to start automatically.
Thanks.
Autostarts... but it will cost you 0.60€

New App Idea

is there app that can autostart specific apps on boot
For example i would like lock2.0 to boot when i turn on my phone instead of manually doing everytime i reboot my phone
Autostart only disables apps not what im looking for ....

Just write a script to launch that particular app and use this to run it at boot

adding app to boot

how can i enable a app to load up at startup. so i dont have to manually turn it on.
They do start on bootup if you use a task manager the app is open apon bootup: ex-twindroid is open on bootup already to check for tweets
i'd like to get lock2.0(slide2unlock) to autostart on bootup so i dont have to manually enable it.
maybe theres a terminal code?
I would suggest trying to edit your user.conf file (for simplicity, download user.conf editor from the market).

[Q] appliction icon missing

Hi,
1.I want to know today when i check the applications about 3 applications are missing, and when i try to re-install, the system says its allready installed, how i can recover their icons?
2. what is the max. physical or virtual limit of how much applications i can installed?
thx
I guess this happened (aplications missing) after a reboot right?
ya after re-boot its gone, what should i do?
i think theres is a bug with zipalign ang cant handle some apps. This is also happening to me for some big apps like aiattack and asphalt.I solved the problem by disabling zipalign script from running in the boot.Go to /etch/init.d/ and remove the script zipalign.Sometimes this can also happen with apps that are stored to sd card,so you have to move them to the phone memory.Press thanks if this helps you.
First you have to re install the apps
any easily way to remove zipalign?

Autostart Manager

So I used an auto start manager to block some apps from starting but now when I try to enable them, it tells me that root is required. I am rooted but this is driving me crazy. Does anyone know how to manually change this?
