On my previous phones there was a setting to display the name of the cell/tower that you were currently connected to alongside the actual network. As you moved around you could see which tower you were currently connected to.
I can not find where on the Kaiser to do this.
Anyone out there know how to do this?
Ta.
You can use several products, like CommMgrPro.
Dani
Thanks Dani.
I could load some 3rd party software but figured there must be a way to do this without having to do so.
On my other phones it was a calss of message (cell broadcast message) and was set up somewhere under messages.
Can anyone help here?
go to settins>>phone>>more>>enable the broadcast channels>>then click on the settings button beside it>> check receive channel list>>select all language option from the drop down>> click on new>>give a channel name say Network and channel no as 50. and you are all set
Thanks Fuzzvirus, that's what I was looking for.
The only problem is that now the phone treats these as text messages and it's continually beeping each time you change cell instead of having it quietly displayed on the today screen!

Where does this cell/tower information appear after doing those things?
May I ask what the purpose is of knowing what towers you are connected to if you can just look at how many bars you have?

It does actually make a lot of difference knowing what tower you're connected to, when you're complaining to your provider about the crappy service!
Here in Australia, our provider Vodafone, will *NOT* even think about investigating any cell faults without this information.
So I'd like to know how to enable the information as well... without receiving text messages or installing some huge program that does far more than I need and takes up valuable screen space.
I'd have to say "me too" in this case.
It doesnt seem to work with AT&T in NA. I've turn on the notification yesterday. I've driving around and no pop ups at all. I checked a few times to make sure that it's enabled but no dice.
not working on SMART Telecom PH or Sun Celluler PH as well. I read that Cell Broadcasting should also be enabled on the Operator side.

Actually you will need to do one more thing, in addition to enabling the receipt of these messages by selecting the broadcast channel in the phone settings. You will need some other tool/program that can display the information that comes in the broadcasts. Otherwise these broadcasts will get treated as SMS messages. For example a simple today plugin like Battery Status (http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatteryStatus_XDA_Neo_WM5_iM_cs.htm) can do the job. Just check the option to show cell broadcast messages in its General options tab. You will start seeing the name of the cell tower in your today screen.
How about making this native HTC?
Just like Glen 'GTRoberts', I think this is something that shouldn't need an additional program taking up space and doing more than needed. I'll be adding this to my list of issues to post to HTC. Certainly that info was useful back in NZ too for the same reasons and given that it's helpfull if the networks can be told this info when there's a problem, I believe it should be something native to the Windows Mobile platform. Heck if my old as the hills Nokia 5110 can display calling code area information, why cant something light years ahead like the TyTN II cope? Does anyone know of a Windows Mobile device that does provide this info natively?
@Flying Kiwi - I do agree but it appears Microsoft completely left the code out for supporting this.
Given that American's have only just caught on with TXT / SMS' I doubt we'll even see WM7 or WM8 having this support!
BTW given your alias, can I safely assume you are from NZ? I'm from Nelson, top of the south island! (although living in Sydney at mo) Its a small world!!

Ahem, that's not quite true, we American's have been into it for a while, it's just that American's still tend to think of their phones as...GASP!... phones I can tell you though, SMS, MMS and Web access on phones is HUGE here now.

Hay smjoshi,
That's a good tip on chi-tai tool, I just got it installed and working fine, but i see my device keep waking up(as the new broadcast received). This drains the battery. Is this normal behavior? or something specific to my device(TyTn)?

Yes normal. Anytime the Device Receives any Notification from the Tower (e.g., Incoming Call, SMS, Cell Broadcast." It "Wakes" to handle the Alert.

Thanks for the reply... Well, that makes that feature only usefull when you hooked up to car charger while travelling(Considering the battery drainage).
In the phone options under the advanced Tab there is the option to reject calls and generate an automatic text message; has anybodt got this to work? It simply does nothing for me. Thanks.
Anybody have this issue?
Can somebody confirm that the reject calls text message generate function works on the Diamond......Mine does not and I'm wondering is there a Registry switch. Thanks.
just trying it now, but seems just to send it to the voicemail instead. Maybe we need to turn voicemail divert off first?
would try that, but for some reason, t-mobile doesn't seem to want to let me turn my diverts off!!
Anyone on another network care to try??

How do you turn diverts off??...cant seem to find anywhere in the phone that gives you that option ie options like when busy divert calls, when out of range divert calls etc etc
start>settings>phone>services tab
highlight call forwarding and then tap the get settings button.
Voila, Call divert options

Btw your right, i tried to disable the voicemail feature...and it didnt work...if i press the ignore button it diverts to the voicemail...hmmm strange...
i think we need someone not on t-mobile to try it. t-mo UK is a PITA when it comes to changing stuff like voicemail settings.
Don't still have my O2 sim so couldn't try that, and am working from home for a bit today so i'm kinda stuck.
Might ask one of the guys at work to try one of our other diamonds with an orange SIM and see if that does the trick....

Its strange because on my nokia n95 8gb phone i could easily turn my voicemail on and off whenever i chose.
I did notice after i had unticked the voicemail boxes...pressed ok then exited...went back into the phone settings and saw that the boxes were ticked....as i said its strange. Because sometimes i just want the caller to hear a busy tone or the reject tone...
Hopefully someone can try with a different sim and see what happens.
it could just be that T-Mobile don't like the commands coming from the windows mobile devices then. I've only been with t-mobile since i had WM devices - about 4 years now - and i never really bothered using my other devices on the network. I think i have an old Sony Z5 around somewhere, i might charge it up and turn the voicemail off with that and then see if that helps.

Could be.,..i dont know as the Diamond is my first WM device that ive been impressed with enough to keep it.
Might give tmobile a call later and see what they have to say about it. Although i dont think im going to have much luck as when i rung them uip about mms settings they said they dont support Diamond..so couldnt help me out there.
that sounds about right for T-mo customer services.
If you can get past the usual shower of muppets on first level and get through to the guys in advanced connectivity in Doxford or Greenock, they should either be able to help or refer you to someone who can....
If i have to call them now, i refuse to speak to the lower levels and ask straight for advanced connectivity. Last time i got through (back in the days when i had my magician), was cos they'd changed their MMS settings. Finally got through to AC and they had me sorted in under 2 minutes! it's just the call filterers on levels 1 and sometimes 2 that cause the problems usually.

I have flashed the German 1.93 update to my Touch Diamond without problems and the phone is working well -- however, I don´t have the "advanced" tab in the phone option!! (and before anyone asks, no I also don´t have the German "Erweitert" Tab there).
Anyone know what´s going on here?
I´d like to turn off the short vibration the phone makes when a call is established.
Thanks // Tom
I been trying to use my google glass while on travel and calling attached to my phone. However, the phone calls are not working because they are automatically adding +1 to all phone numbers. However, I don't need the +1 and it's causing my phone to fail.
Anyway to prevent this from happening?
I wonder my self. The new XE21 patch didn't give an option to change that. It's useless outside USA.

I've had this happen with 2 different devices but it was the same exact problem, and though mine was solved when I switched phones, that's not always an option. So, even though this sort of thing could be happening for several different reasons, from my personal experience I'm led to assume that it's a phone issue and may be due to the settings. But then again maybe it's because of using the 2 devices together, as that's when the problem actually occurs Perhaps try going into your phone's menu and under 'manage running applications' see if there's a 'dialer' or similar menu and then try adjusting it in there OR clearing the 'dialer' cache, after that, even if the +1 still comes up when dialing, the calls may go through now? Good Luck!
Ever since kitkat update on my Verizon g2, my visual voicemail has trouble connecting to "data" if wifi is on. Has to be refreshed to complete the check for new voicemail. Anyone else see anything like this?

Yeah, it's been bugging me too. There's some kind of provisioning thing where Verizon has to change stuff on your account. After several calls to VZW, I've mostly got the notifications gone, although I still have them on occasion. Worth a call to Verizon though.

I hope this isn't a factor with the new G3.That would be enough to scare me off altogether. They re-did mine twice and it still happens a few times a day.
The other thing that bugs me now about the V G2 is the VUtalk notice in an active call when Vutalk is supposed to now be uninstalled and dead.

I haven't really gotten any voicemail errors lately. I think it might take multiple calls to Verizon to fix it. Each time I called them, techs tried different things. By the last time I called, the techs seemed to be very familiar with the issue and there was a more standardized solution. If you're still getting errors, it couldn't hurt to call.
I don't think this will be an issue for the G3. I think it's mostly because visual voicemail on the G2 with JB was $2.99/month but it became free on KK, and the change got all messed up on Verizon's end. Whereas the G3 (should) be coming out the gate with the voicemail already sorted out as far as whether it's going to cost something.
As for VuTalk, a week or two ago, I was pushed out a VuTalk Uninstall thing. If you're still getting VuTalk stuff, LG has the app in the Play store.

I bought this Note 8 (SM-N950F) in Amazon.
Sometimes when people call me I dont receive the calls nor notifications...they go directly to voicemail.
I'm in US using the same T-Mobile SIM that I've used with my two previous phones (they worked perfectly).
I'm aware that this is not a US model but I'm able to make calls and receive many calls, I can use 4G too with no conectivity issue.
But sometimes I dont receive calls and that worries me because that'd be a big deal in case of an emergency :/
I've searched on the web but have found no solutions. I will really appreciate your help guys

I still have the same problem. Have you found something?
I'm able to make calls any time, and receives calls sometimes...but I recently noticed that when I'm not receiving calls, I just make a call and instantly I'm able to receive calls...so, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the phone app going to sleep.

I went to TMobile and I got a new SIM too....still the same issue. But let me know if it works for you anyways.
Like I said, I'm sure that what's causing the issue, is the "phone" app simply hibernating, but I don't know specifically what's the name.
If anyone here could let me know what's the name of the app that controls the cellular activity, would be great
