You can't be serious!
SE delaying a release, shocking!!!
I'm sorry for the sarcasm but SE has NEVER released a device on time, EVER.
who the hell cares
honstly i dont know why sony should bother. i for one dont really care anymore if it ever gets released
they did not bother fixing the the biggest issue with the x1 (the extremely poor performance). they just added more performance sucking features like the winmo 6.5, new applications/customization and 8,1 camera and kept the same slow driverless QC7200 528mhz chipset] just to guarantee that it will lag even more than the X1. after seeing the HD2 performance and comparing it to every "fast" 6.5 rom on the x1. it becomes evident that anything less than snapdragon is just not worth it anymore on highh-end phones
and then there is the problem of ~700euro price. please SE spare us your crap. the omnia pro has been available for several months now and it has better specs (AMOLED 3.5 screen,800MHZ, compass, samsung build quality (not the unproven mobinovva quality) and its less than 400euros
and dont even get me started on the lack of XDA-devs support which is probably probably the reason why i haven't regretted buying the X1
if i were you, id just use the X1 untill a suitable replacement like the tpro3 (i dont think SE will ever release the x3 since i dont expect them to do well with the x2). if you cant wait that long just get the hd2 now. i did not miss the HW keyboard with that 4.3" capacitive screen
yea dont go for the x2, its not worth it, or even for the tp2 for that matter. The only thing the new phones really have on the X1 is a bigger screen and accelerometer which to me isnt that big a deal. Not worth another 300- 500$ for a slightly upgraded device anyway...
I doubt that you will see any significant performance gains with any of the new WM devices from SE or HTC using the same MSM7200 ****. I plan on hanging onto my x1 another 5 months or so (or at least until the housing completely breaks) hoping something better rolls along, or I can get my hands on an X10.
1. who care when they can be ported to x1
2. what does this have to do with rom devolopment of xperia. if u wana post it, atleast do it in the right section....either xperia genereal or off-topic
cheers
I say this should be moved to xperia general subforum
Well, seems like they've had issues with all the newly released phones lately (as in Satio and Aino), so not surprising they'd have issues with X2.
their half hearted [email protected] entering the windows mobile market have failed miserably in my opinion. the X1 and x2 were delayed because of software (that no one really care about). almost all cooked roms have tf3d and most roms dont have any of SE unpracticle crap like the useless panels and the very untouch friendly interface.
i think sony may have a chance of not failing if they change the hardware to snapdragon but thats very unlikely because SE are simply not capable of doing such task at such short notice. i dont see the point of releasing x2 with the slow CPU even if they reduce the cost there is just not enough interest.

I disagree
May I ask: currently, which windows phone has the better camera of all ??
To me, and considering Rhodium's toyish 3.1 MegaPix camera, Diamond2/Topaz's bring-your-flishlite 5 MegaPix camera, and HD2's "viagra effect" 5 MegaPix camera, the X2's 8 megapixels camera alone is reason enough to upgrade from X1 to X2
Just my oppinons after 2 weeks using the X2 camera for a daily basis (my cybrshot is busy accumulating dust in my room)
PS: THIS FORUM NEEDS ACTIVE MODS. THIS THREAD SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE GENERAL SUB.
HEY WE DESERVE MODS TOO HERE @ HTC'S BASTARD SIBLING (kovsky) FORUMS !!
i will definitely buy the X2 if it is available now in local market ... and for lower price
Hd2 is a wonderfull phones, but have too many isuues, no tv-out, non videocall, really bad camera, price too hight, and ...its too big.. Xperia x2 have no one of this problems.. i will go for x2 if this one day will come..

i agree
for me as X1 user the X2 is an must-have.....
here my points why i want to have it:
1. CPU seems to have full power now and not throttled to 400MHz
2. camera (i would bet its the module from C905 so i expect great quality)
3. 3.2" display is absolute perfect size (big enough to use finger and not too big so i can reach the whole screen with one hand and thumb)
4. no dust-collecting edge on display
5. best battery lifetime of all WM devices like X1 before (with TP2 together strongest battery but smaller display)
6. stereo speaker with hopefully great sound quality (some people compared it with W995, Nokia 5800 ams Samsung i8910 (i also own the nokia and the samsung)
7. a much better keyboard than the X1 (but X1 keyboard was already very good for me)
8. Amazing, smooth animated tilewave panel i tested on my X1
9. panels are very useful for me (on the road, tilewave, WM Homescreen, SPB Mobile shell, Facebook i use very often) and damned fast now also on X1
10. the great continous support with 48h repair warranty
that are 10 reasons to by the X2 for me and these reasons are worth the 510€ in switzerland for me........
and to the "slow" CPU:
what do you expect from snapdragon???? only that start menu scrolling is smoother than with MSM7200????? damned guys think about it!!!! the only reason for snapdragon would be to play high res 3D games with iPhone graphics...... but when do you think such games will come????? the game developers have to spend more ressources in game developement like xtract which works perfectly with the 7200 hardware...... or what would you say if you have to buy a PC with a 1000€ CPU to play a game on PC doesn't support hardware accelleration????? and for alle other usages the X1 was already fast enough and if you use the Touch HD video converter from the Blackstone thread you can also watch 800x480 videos smooth on X1!!!!!
and a last thing:
the X2 is the inly actual device with this complete hardware bundle and qwerty keyboard and with SE quality on the market....... and these Omnia Pro ****???? i have the first omnia and its slower and more laggy than my 5800 nokia crap and the omnia 2????? i read some test reports and it is the same **** like the one before...... Samsung is too silly to make good wirking and useful software for its devices and SE does this much better almost on the 2nd run!!!!!
EDIT: ah sry for my bad english i'm from germany ;-)
I agree completely with Jerpelea and others who like the X2. I was thinking of going in for an HTC HD2 but am now not so sure. I need a keyboard and a good camera and enough real estate to read ebooks and browse the web comfortably. It seems the X2 will be able to do all these things well. As for Snapdragon, many reviews of the HTC HD2 have complained about the "lagging" and the terrible battery life. I guess it all boils down to what you want a device for.

Hey everyone, i'm upgrading now and am torn between getting the N73 or the K810 (which is coming out next month).
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pip1&zone=pp&pid=10804
http://www.nokia.co.uk/link?cid=PLAIN_TEXT_119601
I am downgrading to a non-Windows phone because the Wizard I have isn't very practical and isn't a hero in all situations...of course I intend to continue developing it as there really is nothing like Windows CE.
The N73 has better video but it's very common. It's a Nokia, and I think they're quite boring to use. The camera is brilliant, but I hear the shutter speed is slow compared to Ericssons.
The K810 looks awesome but has stone age video (176x144). I like Ericssons, they're fun, and very usable.
Please anyone with any knowledge atall leave any comments or thoughts.
I just got myself a K800i from eBay to go with my array of Windows Mobile phones. One of the first thing I did was flash the K810i firmware to it (although that did nothing to help with the big lump on the back of the phone, which the K810i will not suffer from!)
I was just after a cheap phone with the best camera available, purely to use on a stag-do I'm going on soon. As my limit was £100 (in case I lose/break the thing) my choice was between the Sony and the Nokia too.
I went for the Sony, largely because it has a *proper* flash which will come in handy in low-lit bars and clubs, but I also have an irrational dislike of Nokia's, and I've owned Symbian S60 devices in the past which, looking back, I wasn't thrilled with (Although I loved my old Siemens SX1 at the time).
A good friend of mine has an N73, and in the interest of balance, I will say (grudgingly) that having had a play around with it, it's one of the nicest Nokia's I've seen for a long time. Very good quality pictures, and the latest S60 is better than it ever has been. Only the N95 is better, but that costs a fortune at the moment!
Having used my K800i for just over a week (to get used to it before my drunken trip) I'm seriously considering keeping it as my main phone, at least for the forseeable future. The camera is truly brilliant, even in the absolute pitch black, it has an RSS reader which I use heavily, a capable media player and FM radio, a QVGA web-browser which is at least as good as Mobile IE on a Windows Smartphone, and a massive range of QVGA Java games available. The main thing though, is how insanely usable I'm finding it. Even the N73 doesn't beat the K800i for ease of use.
I have never used video recording on a mobile for anything except MMS, so although Qcif is a bit off-putting at first, it really makes no difference to me. If you're going to be using it for viewing on your PC, then I would say that the general video quality on the K800i comes out about as well as my Universal or my Hermes, despite the lower resolution, mainly because the framerate is more consistent, and the colours/image is sharper to begin with. The N73 is obviously superior for video though.
The main limitation of the K800i for me, is the rather basic e-mail. On my main e-mail account, "push" IMAP4 actually delivers my e-mails to my K800i before "push" Exchange does to my WM5 device (which I'm baffled by). However, you can't view .doc .xls .ppt .pdf attachments on the Sony. You can download and forward them on, but you can't open them.
Also, my music collection is in .ogg format, which the Sony can't handle. It's a shame, because I'm now having to rip things to mp3 for the plane trip.
So basically, if you need flexibility then the N73 is the one to go for. It has better video, and a better e-mail client, plus you can add on extra software features as you go along 'cause it's a Symbian phone.
Have a play around with a K800i - the K810i really is virtually identical, so you'll get a very good idea for yourself of what it will and wont be able to do, but I'd say if you want a more stylish, and extremely usable phone for daily use - with a slightly better camera - then you should go for the Sony.
hi, dont talk about SE or nokias even in off topic, they r low class,
thanks
hey, thanks sub69, that post was very helpful! i decided upon the K810 and i haven't looked back. i had a play with an N73 and i found it very slow and quite clumsy.
thanks again

LOL thanks dude.
I am thinking about going against my better judgement and ditching the TyTnII and selling it then upgrading to a contract to get the diamond.
I like the HTC devices and would gladly keep the TyTnii but the performance is annoying me as I know although acceptable knowing it could do better ......
well ya know
Yeah sorry mate, could have been a bit politer. And it was to add more characters like he said. I think the minimum is 10.
Rory
lo no worries
I hope I'm not too late, because you'll regret it if you dump your Kaiser for the Diamond over video performance.
See this thread for benchmarking details:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397478
Playing the same video, the Diamond was only able to match the HTC Touch's performance. The Touch has the same processor and video issues as the Kaiser. The diamond was almost 30% slower than a 3 year old 6700 running at 416mhz.
Edit: I was also told that this website had done prior benchmarking to verify that while the Diamond featured some video improvements over the Touch and Kaiser, they weren't significant overall.
I like the diamond, but I wouldn't ditch my tytn II for it just yet unless you have plenty of $$$, wait for the diamond pro and reconsider.
-mix
Thanks for the info! I was toying with the idea of getting a diamond as the tytnII perfromance does niggle me.
But I have been reading a lot on this site and am now being drawn to having a go at flashing my tytnII ..... after I have thoroughly read what I need to first of course!
The Touch Diamond doesn't seem to be even close to for example Samsung i780 video performance, so I'd say that it still has some sort of video performance issues, if not the same as the TyTN II has.
Although I like the Touch Diamond, I think that HTC rushed things with this unit and it DEFINETELY isn't the 530 EUR worth I paid for.
I bought a SE C902 for 350 EUR one week earlier and although this is no WM device and I can't install many third party programs(just java stuff), the performance and especially the camera of the C902 are really very very good. Yes, the Touch Diamond looks better but the C902 is even slightly thinner and less wide, not to forget about the mentioned absolutely GREAT picture quality/speed of the 5MP camera.
Don't forget the Diamond has four times the number of pixels to drive compared to the TyTN II...

Hi all Could anybody please tell me whether CAMERA Software form HTC Diamond could work flawless on HTC X7500 Athena with WM6 (I know that Diamond has 3.2 Megapix and Athena 3.0) and if yes could also make a cab file to have an opportunity to install it on Athena (am besten newest version from Diamond ROM WM6.1)???
Athena's camera soft version 4.01 build 27598 makes unfortunately terrible pictures

The Diamond takes bad pictures too, no win situation here I'm afraid.
I also own the new SonyEricsson C902, this little thingie is a treat in the camera department.
And sony ericsson firmware updates (according to camera soft) almost always improve schutter speed, screen refresh rate (when you have camera lens open) and the quality actually Maybe HTC envy this sony ericsson in near future.
And HTC ATHENA has terrible screen refresh rate - when I move it to follow for Example something that I want to photograph, I can hardly say what is going on on Athena's screen
for photos i have a 7mp kodak. for video i have a jvc mini dvd.
i don't ask much from a PHONE camera. it's only a PHONE camera made for a quick snapshot in case of emergency. no artistic demands here. i don't buy a pda for his camera and i don't compare pda's by their camera.
it is like using yr DVD as a shovel or a hammer.
I agree with you but:
1. If it is possible to improve sth why not improving it and
2. People nowadays are looking for a phone (or sth else) with good and fast camera because thanks to that they have opportunity to make a picture when they want and of what they want because they have Mobile phone always with them. To have beautiful pictures I would use NIKON or CANON but sometimes I need to make picture immediately. And many new Nokias or Sony Ericssons are better than HTC and many People will change HTC to NOKIA or SE in the future if HTC not improves for example camera. Its a competition and the best will win
Samsung Omnia Pro is freaking ugly. The keyboard design is worst than the X1. You don't have the D-Pad on the front-face even though you always praise the usefulness of having a D-Pad. You don't have panels.
Hi im one of those people excited about pro who own xperia ...
and well is just like an upgraded Xperia. Xperia is meant to be best smartphone with great multimedia capabilities. So the reasons are
1 3.5" display (AMOLED)
2 much better camera and video recording.
3 processor speed and video playback is also a good reason
then lets face it which are the brands who make winmo phones SE,HTC and Samsung. HTC is poor on multimedia (no 3.5mm jack, crappy camera...)
so omnia pro is the only upgrade from xperia at the moment which has everything. (Qwerty keyboard, WinMO, full multimediality, good battery, full connectivity...) then if u know another phone that has those features tell me

Neither does Samsung make good Multimedia phones. There are no other companies prior to this.
Only Nokia was able to get it right, but now HTC and SE are catching up.
Samsung hasn't catched up get, they are third in line.
hih interesting you and me have different ratings for the phones ... but dont forget that samsung has done some of the best camera phones on the market.
and since samsung produces mp3 players cameras laptops etc they have really the technology to create multimedia phones. also sony ericsson has very good walkmans and camera phones. I didnt like nokia because it had no touchscreen until now ...

Totally agree with this one. And from what I saw, I suppose the keyboard will be more comfortable than the X1's one(can't say for sure until I test it). The thing is, right now only Omnia Pro can be considered as a nice upgrade from X1, no other phone can come up with that. But X1 is good enough for me and I don't plan to upgrade it soon. But still if I was for an upgrade, the only real upgrade will be the Omnia Pro.
omnia pro has a lot going for it when you compare it to x1
1-flush 3.5" amoled LCD. bigger and better
2- no built quality issues and very sturdy according t early reports. samsungs are known for their high build quality and finishing. just [email protected] the origonal omnia or the i780. cant really say the same thing about SE/htc track record with the x1
3-double the CPU speed @800MHZ. so dont expect horrible performance issues like we are facing on our underclocked [email protected]
4-stock rom is better and more practicle. all WM is skinned and finger friendly. touchwiz2.0 looks a lot more usuful than the silly gimmicky panels that no one really cares about.
5-better camera with better flash

No one reported build quality issues when Xperia was covered by the media.
How do you know if the Omnia Pro isn't also underclocked?
How come no one ever told me that the Xperia X1 was underclocked?
How come there are no tweaks/ways to overclock/clock the Xperia X1?
[p.s. i have a larger battery I can withstand the strain of power usage]
Are there anyways? Should I change my clockspeed on the X1 since I got a superb extended 3600 battery?
Hey guys you do realize that the AMOLED screen won't mean crap except for marginally improved battery life because Win-Mo can't display more than 65k colors? And for anybody saying that 65k colors is plenty put the Xperia next to an iPhone. The iPhone doesn't even have an AMOLED but it's colors pop and the screen looks bright and vibrant compared to the washed out colors on the Xperia.
But the other upgrades are enough for an upgrade over the Xperia. The camera on the Samsung is hopefully useful. Shutter lag is awful on the X1 even when I set focus to infinite and had it on the sports setting. I also tried the Touch Pro 2 Camera app and while it did seem to work better my pictures are still less than stellar.
And the bump in processor speed is more than welcome. Hopefully it'll make WM a little less laggy.
1 gig internal storage...
this is a slight plus aswell!
Should be enough for the important programs...
Multimedia is going onto Micro-SD Card.
I'm also looking forward to that phone!
what for compare with 2008 x1 with 2009 omnia pro?
omnia pro is better performance to x1, this is truth...
if not, what for samsung released "pro" which is can't compare with x1?
x1 will out in some other day...or instead by another phone.
not only phone, also notebook and other product...
this called evolution of technologies...

Perfectly stated by the Grizz, as always.
Is that a xenon flash?
I hadn't heard of the Omnia pro before this thread.
I can tell you that I really disliked the first Omnia - it's a gimmick girl phone like the iPhone.
This one, however -I really like! The features are looking awesome. It can indeed be seen as an upgraded version of the X1, as it has all the features, but some improved and more.
Ofcourse this is to be expected as it's never - doesn't change the fact that it's better.
I'll sure be looking out for this phone, gathering info. One thing I hate though: No XDA-dev support!

hi there, till now i didnt see any device that waws me :
but let s get to the facts:
1.i only upgrade to a snapdragon 22M triangle/sec or tegra device( even samsung 800 mhz is sweet with opengl 1.1 and 2 support weak graphic 4 M triangle/sec ).
2.keyboard and dpad its important for me as i dont want all the time to touch the screen.
3.what the hell is wrong with companies ,SE,HTC,Samsung WHERE is the stereo speakers (they call them multimedia device hmmmm).
4.good support (hope xda developers extend to cover more devices other then HTC)
Actually i didnt know how important the Dpad was until i got nokia n97 .... it has no dpad and is a paaaaaain not to talk about prehistorical symbian UI ....
hmmm ... xperia x1 is not that bad at the moment ... any news more about x2 ... except the fotos all the specs are unconfirmed right ???
I am not . Xperia 4 all the way !!!

HaHa x1 totaly owned.
the low price will surly help. its even cheaper than the OmniaII (550 euro) that lacks keyboard
lets see how the omnia pro comares to the x2
No D-Pad? Pfff no thank you then. When will those people learn....
Good point about the lack of a d-pad (and the many customizable buttons), but from a specs standpoint, the Omnia Pro is otherwise better. I'd kill for a faster processor. A bigger screen and better camera would also be huge bonuses.
Ok, I just wanted to ask you: which one is a better upgrade TouchPro1 to TouchPro2 or X1 to X2? In my opinion, these two are not worhy to be called "major upgrades" but what do you think? You all know the specs I suppose.
7200A to rule them all )))
PS: A good upgrade will be for them to change the platform for lets say Snapdragon or at least Cortex A8, if we are about to throw like $600 for new SmartPhone.
Not even close TP2 is bigger update than X2. Anyone who says otherwise is a doofus

Yes?? In WHAT way?
Interesting.
lol TP2 is a joke compared to the x1 farther more the x2....only feature that is dominant is the speakerphone thingy, to me its like the compass on the iphone 3gs, partially useless
have you guys seen the silver x2 in full bloom on phonearena.com?

im starting to like it but i still wont buy unless my x1 passes away(which i hope it doesn't)
Looks quite awesome.
No matter if somebody likes X2 or not,
I think TP2 was a minor upgrade compared to X2 which,
offers some more things than it's predecessor.
the tp2 could barely stand up to the x1 (having a bigger screen that was better than the x1). the x2 is the best of the 4 phones but maybe (in my opinion) not enough to warrant a buy (at £500+ in the uk for a sim free handset) if u already own a x1. true a tp2 is better than a tp but if u are going to buy a phone from the 4, the x2 is the best of the bunch by some distance.
I don't understand why people dislike the TP2 so much in comparison to the X1.
The only true reasons X1 is better:
3.5 mm Headphone Jack
LED Camera Flash
LED Notification
Frontal D-Pad
Looks Way Better than TP2
Optical Joystick that makes scrolling so much easier than with the stylus
The other "subjective" reasons:
Panels are better than Touch Flo 3D
Touch Flo 3D is better than Panels
Similar Traits:
CPU and RAM and ROM
Internal Battery
On the other hand TP2 has:
Bigger Screen
Louder Speakers
Better Speakers
Call Muting
Tilting Screen
Accelerometer
Keyboard and Number Row with Arrow Keys and Ctrl Functionality
FN and CAP Indicators
Zooming Bar
Anyway, if HTC combines both of the Pro's from both devices and atleast a 800 MHz CPU, I would buy it for sure.
Ok, up to me actually X2 > X1 > TP2 > TP1
But, I'll introduce a wild card that in my opinion is better than all those abovementioned: Samsung Omnia Pro. Really looking into it when it will be on the shelves.

its not that i dislike the tp2 but that its almost the same phone as the x1 and was released 6 months after with very few extras and it does not look as good and has some things missing that the x1 has (3.5mm jack etc). i also dont like touchflo but thats only my opinion.
but compared to the x2, the tp2 has nothing that the x2 does not have and the x2 has lots of stuff better (3.5mm jack, 8.1mp camera).
so if you were to buy one of the 4 handsets (and did not own and of the above, maybe if u owned tp1) the x2 would be the best handset by some distance.

im not saying the samsung omnia pro will be bad but i have never had a good samsung phone (tested about 4 different ones including the tocco ultra).
TP2 was a downgrade, so X2 is more of an upgrade to the X1, compared to TP2 and TP.
Now to the OT stuff lol:
- yeah, if someone combined the X1 and the TP2, it would the greatest phone ever.
- lol @ Omnia Pro. It is good, but not good enough to be mentioned in the same thread as these devices. Plus, I have had only bad experiences with Samsung devices previously.
What are the advantages of the X2 over the X1 that can make you buy the X2?
PROS:
1) 8MP Camera (Image Stabilizer, Face Detection)
2) .2 Inches more screen
3) Accelerometer that doesn't support auto rotate
4) Windows Mobile 6.5
5) TV Out
6) Built in XVID support
CONS:
1) Same processor as the X1 (Qualcomm MSM 7200 528MHz)
2) Same amout of RAM (256MB)
3) Still no Hardware Acceleration (no ATI Imageon Drivers..)
4) NO RADIO
5) More plastic
6) Looks less elegant than the X1

1. the accelerometer will rotate the x2 in the final version but not of the tile panel. (this probably will come with a option to turn on or off)
2. x1 has hardware acceleration on the panel manager so x2 will have it too. from what we have see so far its likely that the x2 also has the ati drivers too.
3. looks are a matter of opinion.
4. there is more plastic in the x2 but i guess this is because they dont want the signal problems that the x1 has (caused by the metal in the casing).
5. the final version may have a radio (we will have to wait and see).

Well, I can add more cons, byt let me tackle those pros lol.
1 - Anything more than 5mpx is for pro photographers only. You will not notice the difference between 5 or 8mpx. It comes down to the hardware. A good 3mpx camera can shoot better pics than a crappy 8mpx.
2 - Good. I would prefer more, but that's not the point.
3 - Gimmick. I always keep it off on every phone that I had. No use at all for it. Rotates the screen when you DON'T want it too lol. The games are a pathetic notion, because when you turn or swivel, you loose eyesight of the screen, or are forced to tilt your head haha.
4 - We will get that for the X1.
5 - Yup.
6 - I'll reserve judgement for now.
To sum it up. We get the same device with a makeover (looks uglier lmao), they take stuff out (radio) and give us two minor upgrades - 2 inches of screen (who will notice this?) and TV-out (1 out of 20 people uses it twice per year).
I'm on the verge of calling this a downgrade rofl...

1 - A gimmick.
2 - Conjecture.
3 - I loled.
4 - C'mon, don't try to reason their cheap design .
5 - Not relevant, yet.
SE fail... again. they tried to outperform Apple's Iphone by doing minor upgrades. But they still managed to upgrade more of the hardware than Apple did, and still, Iphone 3GS is more popular because of the minimal upgrades, lol.
Well SE, i would have upgraded if you kept the same X1 formfactor and housing and just added multitouch.... or maybe snapdragon... only one innovation is needed to keep us satisfied, the more is better of course, but X2 seems... just a melting pot of a bunch of devices, wich already seems out of date....
btw, i have a tp2 right now and i love it, so moooooooore responsive then the xperia with the skiniest rom. Actually, i am using a rom with tf3d2.5 and the difference, speedwize, is remarkable. really gorgeous big screen, much greater sound quality, the speaker is also much louder and clear, much better reception, really, i can now make calls eveywhere in my house, where xperia just let me down, down, down.
i'm sorry, i just couldn't help myself bragging about the tp2right now, but it's just so much better.
right....let the flaming begin... Orelsi, you're up first...

I wish you staying happy TP2 user!
No problem. My Xperia basically is great and I read many contrary opinions.

1. may be a gimmick but its still there and works (the guy said that it was disabled, but its not).
2. most people think the x1 is not accelerated but it is and the x2 more so.
3. i prefer the x1 too but like anything in life people have there opinions (like yours with iphones)
4 it may be a cheaper design but i would rather it be make from plastic if i have good constant signal (at the mo my x1 looses signal every time u go to text what is a piss take).
5. i suppose it depends if u really want a radio or not.
also your point about the 8mp camera is true but i have heard the sensor on the x2 is like the one on the top cybershot phone (C05 i think its called), they did not put there 12mp sensor in what is probably because its not as good as the 8mp sensor. i dont think anyone could complain about having a better camera even if u dont need it.

did they??????
x1 - x2 = same cpu, same ram, better camera.
3g - 3gs = doubled ram, new cortex A-8 cpu (not only running 200mhz faster but the cpu itself is in a different league) better camera.
if u dont know these simple facts its hard to take your opinion seriously.
Well I'll happy of having 8mpx camera on my device.
