As above, which class should I go buy for cyan roms? Best suitable for cyan roms?
get a class 6. newegg.com has an 8 gig class 6 for 20 bucks plus free shipping
You can choose to get a class 6, but a class 2 should work just fine.
Here's a sale going on right now.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208453&Tpk=20-208-453
14.99 free shipping 8GB class 6
The higher the better, honestly it doesn't really matter because you probably won't be using a swap partition, unlike Hero where it's essential. 8GB Class 6 cards are very cheap, you might aswell pick one up.

Hi,
My apologies if this has already been posted, but I couldn't find a thread about the 16GB class 10 microSDHC cards. I am asking for some positive feedback as to whether or not you all think it is worth it to drop the dough on a class 10, or just save a little and go with the class 6?
I found them to be decently priced at Newegg, Buy.com, and Tigerdirect. The one at Tigerdirect is a class 6k but Newegg and Buy.com are class 10.
I know that a class 10 over a class 6 data transfer speeds will be significantly better when inserted directly into a computer. But, would it be worth it to get a class 10 for my Nexus One, or are there hardware limitations that would still hinder the data transfer speeds from the N1 to a computer? If there are limitations then I will probably save a little money and go with the class 6.
Just looking for an honest answer here.
Thanks to anyone that can give me a little feedback.
Oldish post I know, but I need an answer for this too, I would greatly appreciate one. I've got class 2 and I'm sick of running out of space for apps.
Class 4 is good
But
Class 6 makes apps run smoother
How does class 10 fare to both? I had a feeling it was not by much.
Thanks.
I'll be using this for my overly obese g1.
Now you can get the 32gb exclusively from sandisk and it works well. I'm finally able to fit all my music on it with room to spare. The sandisk site doesn't give a class number though.

Class 2.. Google for SDSDQ-032G-A11M
the read speeds are all basically the same apparently..
i'm using the stock nexus sd card (class 2 or 4 can't remember) and 720p recording works fine, why would you need anything faster unless you are transferring a lot of large files frequently and don't want to have to wait.
i have the sandisk 16gb class2 and its running smooth. takes a moment to transfer, but not too long. A2SDext works like a charm. no lag.
I recently bought Kingston 16GB class 2 and Im very happy with it.
I chose it over the the tests, the write speed is constantly over 6 MB/s so I got "class 6" for the price of class 2
Want to upgrade the SDHC card in my Hero, and they always say buy as big as you can afford, so I was looking at a 16GB from CompUSA. They have one for $38, but, it's a Type 2. Is there any problem with using a Type 2 card? The type 6 is considerably more expensive, and if a Type 2 will work fine, then I am more than happy buying the Type 2.
Is 16GB too big?
Also, should I simply direct copy everything from my current card over to the new card, or should I start fresh and copy nothing? Not sure if my card is a mess or not, there are some files on there from apps that I no longer have on my device. I mainly want to have lots of room to load different ROM's and room for Nandroid backups.
I do not have a large amount of photos or music on my card, nor do I see myself having a large amount of this type of content in the future.
I currently have a 16gb class 6 adata card in mine. Once the 32gb cards price come down I will look at them. I just copied everything to my pc and than copied to new card. my phone was completely stock at the time
Edit: as far as the class unless you plan on using a2sd feature on a custom rom the class 2 should be fine
Kernels that use ramzswap work better with a class 6 card.... it is a faster memory card... I went with an 8gig class 6 over the 16gig class 2 and use firerats custom partition and have all the space I need

From what I have read a class 6 is what we want for our phones. I currently have a 4 gig class 4, but bought a 8 gig class 6 from ebay yesterday, only $20.
Hey, that's a great price. It wasn't one of those from Hong Kong was it?
I saw many of those on there having very low prices, but, I have purchased that cheap computer stuff from Hong Kong before, and most of it didn't work, and also, took like a month to ship. Not saying yours was, just asking.
Right now, I probably will not be using Ap2SD, so I got an 8 GB class 2 for $18. I'll see how that works out.
Thanks!

+1. Be careful of cards on eBay... check the sellers ratings and location.... if its way under priced and coming from over seas and sounds too good to be true then it probably is.... I learned this the hard way.....

I am using Kingmax 16GB MicroSDHC Class 10 on amazon for $60 .. I believed a Kingmax 8GB class 10 cost only $30.00.
I am inbetween these two cards. One is a Kingston 16GB Kingston class 4, while the other is a 32GB Sandisk class 2. The only thing I'm concerned about is the speeds on the 32GB Sandisk SD Card, how do you think it will compare with the Kingston?

Real world performance... most won't notice any difference in speed. Go with the 32 GB, as the extra storage can be extremely handy.
I use the 32gb with an Incredible, speed is fine.
I compared 3 cards. Sandisk 16GB class 2, Transcend 16GB class 6, Sandisk 16GB class 4.
The Sandisk 16GB class 2 actually out performed the other 2 cards in write speed. The Sandisk class 4 had a slightly higher read speed than the class two but just not enough to justify the price difference, so I went with the Sandisk class 2 cause it's an all round performer and it's cheaper than the other 2.
I got mine for $27.00 locally
I got the 32g from Verizon. It's a class two, but all the Sd Card "Benchmark Apps" rate it as a class 4 for what its worth. Definitely the 32g...Way handy!
Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess I'll definitely be going with the 32 GB one then!!

I got the Kingston 32 gb Class 2 on ebay for $49 free shipping. You may want to look there.
Get one of these two Microsd cards if possible
I have found this card at newegg class 10. 16gb, even got a review for the htc incredible that was not bad, but the person did say that it only read it as a class 6. Was only $28. its sold out as of right now, but when it comes back you should probably get one. Im hoping this company makes a 32gb version.
but if you want a known name brand then I would go with Patriot 16gb class 10 microsd which happens to be also out of stock but goes for $38. Probably just the price difference on name brand, but you never know. both are unfortunately sold out. means they are hot right now.
Where can you purchase an actual Class 6 32GB MicroSD card, or do they even exist right now? I've seen some on ebay, but I'm doubtful that they are legit.
Here's the one I found on Ebay:
32GB on Ebay
Is it really even worth trying to get a class 6 card? I mean, my 16GB is a class 6 and I've never had anything less. But is the upcharge you pay really worth the money?
Newegg has 5 different 32GB cards:
http://goo.gl/eFQn9
It doesn't appear that there are any 32GB Class 6 cards out at the moment.
Kingston's own website doesn't list a 32GB Class 6, so that eBay listing is probably bogus.
I don't think for basic phone storage the class makes a difference.

Appreciate the info! I believe I'll be holding out for this one. I have two 16GB that I use at the moment so I pretty much have things covered. I'm really looking forward to getting a 32GB though. It'll be nice to have a phone with 40GB storage capacity.
You have to keep in mind that the class of an SD card only determines the write speed. So, for taking high res photos and HD video, the class is important. But for Apps2SD and other uses that rely on reading, the class is fairly irrelevant.

Writing takes much longer than reading though it seems, because when I run Quandrant and it measures I/O, writing takes much longer than reading.
I found a Class-4 32 gig card at Frys for 100$ so I went with it, not so much for the speed but for the capacity.

If you read only like 2 posts down, it's actually an SD, not a micro. Sorry.
Well the best card on the market for the price is a 16gb

Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
yes, a class 10 card is faster than a class 6 card, but a class 10 card is very expensive.
Don't buy a noname class 10 card for 30 Euro that might be a fake...
yeah i have that doubt too , about if a 32gb sdcard is properly supported by our phone and not brick it in the trying lol , also how will i know what class if my sdcard? is there a software for check that info?
On the most cards its on the body...
If not you can also ask the shop where you bought the card
A memory card with class 4 or higher is good!
Buy class 6, thats save
Try to avoid buying memory cards on ebay unless you have a clear idea about memory cards and the ebay seller. Some cheap chinese cards on ebay could be fakes which either would not work well or would have the capacity inflated by a driver hack.
microSDs come in class 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. The speed difference between each of these classes is tremendous. However, the price is also different. Class 10 being most expensive and class 2 being cheapest.
You'd have to strike a good balance between speed, price and capacity. I'd recommend a Class 6 with 16GB capacity.
Of course, if you have lots of money to spare, go for a class 10 32GB.
