Hey,
I have the following problem with my Diamond (MDA Compact IV Version):
In the dialer (and only there), the right phone button/hang up button does not react or does react after many seconds. So you are in a call and want to hang up, push the hang up button and nothing happens or it does 30 seconds later . My workaround was to disable sleep while calling, so I can select hang up on the touch screen. However, this is ugly and doesn't fix the button problem. The option to not lock any buttons while sleeping doesn't work either, nor did some tweaks or reducing the delay time.
Problem does occur on:
Latest official HTC german Rom (2.03.407.3 oder sth like that)
BsB 6.5 Rom
No problem with:
Windows Mobile 6.5.1 Revolution Titanium Rom (which is unusable due to massive batt drain).
The first two Roms have a black dialer, I think it's a HTC dialer while the Revolution Rom dialer looks windows mobile "default".
It's hard to find anything related on the web, but a few other people do have this problems too, and sb mentioned that it's a bug of "tachi dialer" (the HTC dialer?). If so, can I try another dialer or is there any other solution?

I am encountering another strange behaviour from time to time (german tmob rom):
After ending a call, the backlight of the device doesnt go on any more. Additionally, the start menu button (soft and hardbutton) isnt working anymore.
I can use HTC home, X-button, phone and so on - but no startmenu or backlight.
Anybody else with this issue?
same prob
good evening,
i have the same problem with my org. tytn II often after Locking the Device "Gerätesperre" with the 1.56.407.3 ROM.
I spoked with HTC, they sad that i will get an callback, but till now nothing happends.
What is the latest ROM Version for the Original HTC TyTN II?
I saw some newer version for the T-Mobile and Vodafone Devices,
but i would like the have the Manufactures Version.

I found out a small workaround:
When holding the red "end call" button for some seconds, the device lock "Gerätesperre" will be activated. Simply do that, turn the device off and on again (no softreset, just sleep mode) and unlock the device. Problem gone.
Of course this is just a workaround... - i could permanetely solve this one by a hardreset.
Hello
I am a newbie here so hopefully I don't screw up to bad. My tilt will freeze sometimes after it has been in what I call Hibernate (screen turns off after 30 secs or so). What is odd is if I slide out the keyboard it will change from portrait to landscape but I can't make anything happen when I touch the screen. If I soft reset the device it works fine. Please help, I really don't want to do a hard reset.
Thanks
Garry
That happens to me sometimes too. You're lucky you can soft reset, I have to take off the battery for it to reboot.
Yeah, I thought it might be the cube, which I unistalled but I am sure it is something I have installed..... Just not sure what so when/if I hard reset. I know not to reinstall it.
I've had this problem as well, with the stock AT&T ROM on the Tilt. The phone inexplicably will not wake up. Soft reset will successfully restart the phone (for me).
When the phone is essentially "locked up", it will not receive calls - which sucks.
Playing with the settings, I (maybe) lessened the frequency of such lockups by increasing the Today Timeout to 12 hours (maximum). I don't know if this did it, but I've only had one lockup since - rather than two to three times a week.
I'm new to PDA type phones and WM6, so I don't know much - but maybe this will help you guys. It may also be complete coincidence on my end. Who knows?

I had the same problem with evey ROMs.
But since I don't use HTC home and HTC close program this kind of freezing disappeared.
I don't know which one caused the problem or wich version.
Try Spb Mobile Shell or Spb Pocket Plus for today screen. They are free to try.
It's a shame because I loved the looks of HTC programs.
Just upgraded to WM 6.1 and love it but it seems that I have to press the power button a few times to turn on my Tilt. Is this an issue or just my phone?
Is there anything else I just add to take advantage of the 6.1?
Mine blinks sometimes, or doesnt come on with the 1st press. MANY others seem to have this issue.
I had this issue using ROMeOS v4.5.3 release. I upgraded to ROMeOS v4.6 and the problem went away.
I never had this problem until I tried to use SPB Diary. And what was happening was that the program was so slow to fire up, if I hi the button I was usually impatient and would hit it again too soon and it'd turn on/off.
If I hit the button and left it for 3+ seconds it'd usually turn on.
Needless to say, I uninstalled it. It would be an okay stand-alone program, but it's too slow for the Today screen.
Mine just blinks once in a while (Official Orange 6.1 ROM).
Not sure if its a third party issue though.
This is a known issue but I thought it only affected the AT&T 6.1 ROM and cooked ones based on it (e.g. NATF's). Holding the power button for 1/2 second as opposed to just tapping it seems to be 100% effective. After a while you get used to turning on the phone that way. Hopefully a real fix is coming.
I have the same problem too - ^ good looks on the quick fix blue_94_trooper.
Hi,
I wonder if I'm the only one having this issue...
sometimes, after a call, the phone freezes and I have to press the Home key to get the TF3D screen back.
But after that, I can't make a new call... nothing happens when I press the "Call" button or when I try to launch the dialer by pressing on the "Phone" soft button.
I try to launch the FdcSoft TaskMgr (wm2005_3.1) in order to see if a process was stuck, it usually loads fast but in this case, it stops loading and nothing was displayed... (I'm still able to see the TF3D background instead of TaskMgr).
Only way to recover from it, is to SR the device...
I switch off the device each nights, I would expect more stability, it's not like I'm running it for more than 2 weeks...
This issue always occurs (when it does) after a call or when I press the hard key "End call".
Oh, funny thing... By 3 times, I was also unable to end a call, the call was still running and I had to SR the device to end the call... very nice !
Anyone with this issue or with an idea ?
It's the only thing that drives me crazy with this phone :|
Rom : 1.93
radio : BS14 currently, but it was the same with previous radios.
is there anybody with a little clue for me ?
Please
Me too.
Panosha: 1.93.405.1 WWE Shine On 2.4 Full
Radio: 1.03.25.18
After calls... Freezes 80% or more. I don't know if maybe it is 100% of the time when the other end hangs up first. (I don't get it with Voicemail!)
I also get freezes some other times. I don't think it is memory related, (before someone suggests it.) Also Please don't tell me to Hard Reset. I have Hard resetted to my heart's content, also directly after every Rom Update (to get GPS working)
try soft reset......i also got that problem....i do a soft reset, works fine...
cheers!?!!!
Hi all,
a few days ago i saw a strange behaviour of my X1
If i push the on/off button the X1 starts the phone app and sometimes even the caroussel function of MS3.
I didn't install new apps or change reg keys.
The system was running almost perfect in the last months
After a hardreset yesterday i reconfigured my X1 and it seemed well for the moment. I turned the device on and off several times and it showed normal behaviour.
A few hours later (X1 was not in use) i pushed the on/off button and the problem was back again...
IMO the X1 acts like someone pushes the left silver button and sometimes the green tel button.
Has anyone an explanation for this?
Ideas for solving?
Thanks
Horst
one program I use on the X1 is called AE button Plus
it can remap all the hardware buttons on my X1, maybe you can try them and see if you can set the ON/OFF button from there, overriding your default action for a temp fix
Same problem here, after my xperia fall deep into the water!
I fixed this using s2u2
Thank you guys for the answers.
What i'm looking for is a reg key that changed or sth like that.
Unfortunately my knowledge about the registry isn't very good.
Perhaps one of the WM pros reads this and can give me an idea where to look...
Thanks
Horst
