I am encountering another strange behaviour from time to time (german tmob rom):
After ending a call, the backlight of the device doesnt go on any more. Additionally, the start menu button (soft and hardbutton) isnt working anymore.
I can use HTC home, X-button, phone and so on - but no startmenu or backlight.
Anybody else with this issue?
same prob
good evening,
i have the same problem with my org. tytn II often after Locking the Device "Gerätesperre" with the 1.56.407.3 ROM.
I spoked with HTC, they sad that i will get an callback, but till now nothing happends.
What is the latest ROM Version for the Original HTC TyTN II?
I saw some newer version for the T-Mobile and Vodafone Devices,
but i would like the have the Manufactures Version.
greetz toni
I found out a small workaround:
When holding the red "end call" button for some seconds, the device lock "Gerätesperre" will be activated. Simply do that, turn the device off and on again (no softreset, just sleep mode) and unlock the device. Problem gone.
Of course this is just a workaround... - i could permanetely solve this one by a hardreset.

There seems to be a problem with the Kaiser. After finishing a phone call on the Kaiser the backlight goes off and stays off and I cannot access the Start menu. I can access all other functions but backlight stays off and one still cant get into the Start menu from anywhere on the screen. I have to press the power off button quickly once and then wait a second, press it again to be able to access the start button or the light to come on. This is definitely a bug in the tytn II and I hope HTC is doing something about this.
I have experienced the same thing.
After the phone call. I did not hang up.
Instead the person at the other end hangs up and I tries to navigate away then the phone appears to lock up.
Could not turn the phone off either. Had to wait until the phone turned itself off. Once restarted everything ok...

I noticed this as well...
pretty crazy.
Hmm I haven't that problem. Danish HTC TyTN II
Do you folks have the password set? I have heard that that can cause this problem. Try to turn off password checking.
Hi @ All, any news about that problem?
I have a solution
I had the same problems and after installing all the ROM's and still have the same problems, I found out that the problem is not in the ROM it is in the 3G network, disable the 3G network and set it to GSM and all the problems will disappear.
This was nothing to do with 3g.
It was a pre-programmed fast sleep setting that was flawed. Download Kaiser Tweak and turn off all the sleep during call options.
Difference in memory in use
I have problem with my TyTN II, I don´t know why, but when I control the state of the memory in use, it seems to be 112 MB in use and 19,4 MB free. But when I control every item (Applicationdata, Confimgr, ProgramFiles etc., even including hidden files) and calculate total then it seems to be only 45 MB in use. Can anyone explain this
thanks
So I have the new official AT&T WM 6.1 ROM. When I hit the power button most of the time the screen turns on but quickly turns back off. When I hit the power button again it stays on. Anyone know how to fix this?
Same exact thing happes with mine when i take it out of standby with the power button. This never happened with 6.0 and just started with 6.1
Me too. But, does not happen every time.
No clue how to fix it here; just adding my voice to the chorus. I thought it might have been because I finally dropped mine. Now I guess it might be something with the 6.1 AT&T ROM.
Second thought: It's not consistent with mine either. It seems to happen more often when my phone has been "off" (read: in standby) for a while.
Mine seems to be inconsistent and more likely to happen if it has been in standby for a while as well . Does anyone with a tilt with AT&T WM6.1 not have this problem?
This issue was introduced in one of the recent AT&T builds before it became official. There is no known fix right now.
This problem is really annoying. Any fixes yet?
mine is 6.1 and do something like that:
when the phone is on standby, and I press the "power" button so it awakes, the screen turn on, then off and go on again by it self, this happens EVERY time but only when the phone its locked. I try it a few times with the phone unlocked and it didnt happend. By un lock i mean the screen and buttons lock.
Something that I've notice, is than, when my phone was 6.0 and I click the "lock" button, the screen DIMs automaticaly, and since I upgrade it to 6.1 it doesnt dim , I lock it, and the screen stays on and exactly the same brightness. I dont know If I have to setup something on the phone to dim when its locked or what, i just cant find it...
upssssss, 2ble post...

I upgraded to 6.1 yesterday and have the exact same problem. It is very annoying. I am using the Official 3.28 version of 6.1. I have also tried version 3.34 but still get the problem.
still no solutions?
Hi,
I wonder if I'm the only one having this issue...
sometimes, after a call, the phone freezes and I have to press the Home key to get the TF3D screen back.
But after that, I can't make a new call... nothing happens when I press the "Call" button or when I try to launch the dialer by pressing on the "Phone" soft button.
I try to launch the FdcSoft TaskMgr (wm2005_3.1) in order to see if a process was stuck, it usually loads fast but in this case, it stops loading and nothing was displayed... (I'm still able to see the TF3D background instead of TaskMgr).
Only way to recover from it, is to SR the device...
I switch off the device each nights, I would expect more stability, it's not like I'm running it for more than 2 weeks...
This issue always occurs (when it does) after a call or when I press the hard key "End call".
Oh, funny thing... By 3 times, I was also unable to end a call, the call was still running and I had to SR the device to end the call... very nice !
Anyone with this issue or with an idea ?
It's the only thing that drives me crazy with this phone :|
Rom : 1.93
radio : BS14 currently, but it was the same with previous radios.
is there anybody with a little clue for me ?
Please
Me too.
Panosha: 1.93.405.1 WWE Shine On 2.4 Full
Radio: 1.03.25.18
After calls... Freezes 80% or more. I don't know if maybe it is 100% of the time when the other end hangs up first. (I don't get it with Voicemail!)
I also get freezes some other times. I don't think it is memory related, (before someone suggests it.) Also Please don't tell me to Hard Reset. I have Hard resetted to my heart's content, also directly after every Rom Update (to get GPS working)
try soft reset......i also got that problem....i do a soft reset, works fine...
cheers!?!!!
hello, i have got a problem with my kaiser, it is tuning off (entering in standby) in 10 s no matter the config than i make
thanks a lot
Oddly enough, I'm having exactly the same problem.
No matter what is running, even apps that are supposed to keep the device from entering sleep (like TomTom, etc.), it always enters sleep after about 10 seconds. What's weird too, is that if I press any physical button on the phone, it resumes from "Sleep" instead of having to push only the power button like you would normally do.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I have a "AT&T Tilt" Kaiser, and am running a 6.5 rom w/ the eMobile radio.
Hello bro
i found a semi-solution hehehe
starting de audio manager and let it play a part of a music, after that it dont solve all problem but reduce it, some times the kaiser turn off after 2 min as the setting, some times it turn off in 10s
the most strange thing is than the pda never have this problem until today in morning
my rom is a pda-corner wm6,1
thanks
Don't know if it the same problem...
Hi guys got a kaiser bout a month ago and i love the phone haven't done any modifications to it all stock at&t stuff. Having a pretty unpleasant problem... when i go to turn on the phone the at&t logo pops up and then after a couple of seconds turns off, the battery is charged! I seem to be able to turn it on if i open the sim card door and leave it open till the WM6.1 logo appears, but then when i turn it off to put in sim card it turns off in seconds and does not come on. Now when it does happen to stay on for me after its been asleep for a while the touch screen stops working...
all stock kaiser
have done may hard and soft resets nothing seems to be working
don't have sync software
willing to do anything
HELP!!!
maybe you can put a modificated rom, my sotck phone come with wi-fi, internet and e-mail blocked. i put a modificated rom and it unlock all features. its just a try, but dont forget to read all the wiki about the replacement of the rom or you can brick you phone
good luck
i'm also looking for how to change this as tomtom on the move in the car is useless when the phone locks
Hey,
I have the following problem with my Diamond (MDA Compact IV Version):
In the dialer (and only there), the right phone button/hang up button does not react or does react after many seconds. So you are in a call and want to hang up, push the hang up button and nothing happens or it does 30 seconds later . My workaround was to disable sleep while calling, so I can select hang up on the touch screen. However, this is ugly and doesn't fix the button problem. The option to not lock any buttons while sleeping doesn't work either, nor did some tweaks or reducing the delay time.
Problem does occur on:
Latest official HTC german Rom (2.03.407.3 oder sth like that)
BsB 6.5 Rom
No problem with:
Windows Mobile 6.5.1 Revolution Titanium Rom (which is unusable due to massive batt drain).
The first two Roms have a black dialer, I think it's a HTC dialer while the Revolution Rom dialer looks windows mobile "default".
It's hard to find anything related on the web, but a few other people do have this problems too, and sb mentioned that it's a bug of "tachi dialer" (the HTC dialer?). If so, can I try another dialer or is there any other solution?
