[REF] List of home replacement apps. (MODS: Sticky?) - G1 Apps and Games

With countless home replacement apps currently released, and certainly more on the way, it's become a bit difficult to keep track of each app's unique features, enhancements, and overall structure. Moreover, some apps might go entirely unnoticed. I thought it'd be a good idea to compile a master list of these apps, with a screenshot, list of features, structure (five screens horizontally, four screens in a diamond format, etc.), and a link to the developer's website and/or thread. I've included an example below, and will continue to add more to the second post as they are listed in this thread by other users. This thread, once it gets started, would make an immensely useful sticky.

NOTE: This thread is only intended to list information about as many launchers as possible, and not to become a discussion of which is the best, which sucks, or conversation about a particular app that would be better suited elsewhere. By all means, list the pros and cons of whichever apps you'd like to profile, but please keep it constructive.

Thanks guys; I've added those to the list. If either of you would like to take a stab at profiling one or more of those launchers (similar to the example provided), that'd be great. As useful as the names of all the launchers are, a comprehensive description of each seems all the more better.

Hi,
I'm the developer of the MessagesWidget and all designers I had told me they would do a layout and disappeared.
If you could do a layout, I would be proud to include it in the next version.
What I need is a 4x2 layout and a 4x1 layout.
If you're interested I could send you my contact informations and we could talk through GTalk or ICQ.
Thanks.

I'm doing this to keep Android rocking with a better overall experience, so I'm just asking you guys to keep writing killer apps.
If you're interested, just post:
1) App's primary function
2) Images to be replaced (or screenshot w/ relevant image sizes)
3) Idea of the look you're going for, if any.

Hi, just found this thread,
My app is currently in the latter stages of development and I'm looking for some inspiration when it comes the front end.
1) aDyno (a beta ver is on the market for you to dnload & play with), its a car performance app, measures & logs speed/hp/gforces etc.
2) If you glance through the app screens, a lot are simple list views which I'm OK with, but the presentation may need reviewing. The main views that need 'some work' are:
. The main timer view (pic1), I need to overhaul the whole thing from scratch.
. The graphs view (pic2), something prettier.
. And the g-meter/g-pad views (pic3 & 4), again, my first efforts are pretty poor (though the code used in pic4 is far from complete).
3) What I'm looking for? Nothing too OTT but I'm open to suggestions.
Looking forward to hearing what kind of ideas you have, or if this is of interest to you.
You can also catch some dev info on this thread...

[Themes][Go Launcher Ex] MetroPoly - reduce to the max - inspired by Windows 8

Dear Community

OTHER THEMES
Hello community,
here's my first theme-series:
- Simple, easy recognizable icons with a high recognition value, providing fast navigation
- More then 100 different symbols providing assignment to current apps
- More than 10 color-variations
- Categorize your apps by colors
- Colors aligned to ICS, MIUI and Launcher7
- Frequent updates
- Feedback, proposals and icon-request welcome: [email protected]
The times of motley and over-designed icons are gone. The new way focuses on simple and perfect distinguishable symbols. Windows Metro is a pioneer.
This provides maximum customer experience with a calm design. The symbols have a very high recognition value, providing fast navigation. As they are not tailored to single apps but categories of apps you can use them in many ways and link them to your favorite app.
Metro-Poly will be available in more than 10 color-variations. Like this you can group your apps by colors on the startscreen providing a much better overview. Multiple colors for the same icon.
The freeversion of Metro-Poly-Blue is the base and can be perfectly combined with other Metro-Poly-Themes without letting your phone look like a parrot.
Metro-Poly: Enjoy your phone!

Neat Official Google Tool for Showing Off Homescreens

Was just having a look on the Official Android Develops site (http://developer.android.com) and noticed google had added a tool which allows you to upload your screenshots, and the tool automatically overlays them onto the screen of your device.
They only list the Pure Google devices, Nexus 4,7,10 and the older models etc, but it is still really handy. Even has options for shadow and glare.
Maybe I'm just late to the game, but I had never seen this before? Will certainly make posting in homescreen threads a lot easier.
Link is http://developer.android.com/distribute/promote/device-art.html
It's certainly a tool I will be using a lot, so I hope this is of some assistance to others too :good:

Very nice find! This should certainly help with making apps look more professional in Android Market screen shots, plus you could use it in tutorials to point out what buttons to press when doing something, or highlighting what each function of an app does.
A lot of people use this for their screenshots. There is also a version in the play store.

I dont want to be the 1 to ruin all the fun but I read when I was publishing my theme, when you upload screenshots, you cannot have a border, so im assuming this will get your product removed from the Play Store
