hi,
i've seen 8 gb cards advertised on ebay - does anyone know whether they work with the xda 2i?
Unfortunately, 4Gb is SD card's limit. 8Gb ones have different architecture.
damnit. but thanks for the info

cool, cz i am thinking of getting one, currently i am using a 1gb
does it lag or what?
I'm running WM6 on 7500, with 4GB SDHC card, and need more space.
Whats the biggest capacity card anyone is running without problems?
I haven't tried one but I saw the microSDHC 8gb has just been announced at $150. I don't think there is anything bigger then 8gb at the moment but I could be wrong. Wikipedia mentions Samsung announced a 16gb but they don't mention if its SD or micro.
6gb microSDHC has been available for a while now. But i'll wait for 8GB one since it should be soon available.
BTW, SDHC is useless for Athena. We should be using either miniSDHC or microSDHC.
Parity with the hard drive, nice!

The MicroSD cards usually come with 2 adapters (one for Mini-SD and one for SD).
Thanks, I'll get an 8Gb one then when my 7500 turns up.
Please be informed that the 12 GB MicroSDHC is already out:

Hi!
I understand that HTC Kaiser (TyTN II) support SD 2.0 standard, which allow it to use microSDHC memory card.
Yesterday, I have found a Kingston 4GB microSDHC memory card at one retailer shop, I want to buy it. So I asked the storekeeper for a test by inserting the 4GB card into TyTN II card slot. The result, TYTN II do not recognize or see the microSDHC card from Kingston at all.
I have read in other forum that TyTN II can use Sandisk or Toshiba microSDHC card up to 4GB without the need of any driver of anything.
So what's the problem? My Kaiser use released ROM (WM6) and it work fine with 2GB microSD, but why it do not work with microSDHC?
Can any friend explain why? and can you help me get my TyTN II to work with 4GM microsSDHC?
Thank for advaice

Same here. And I also have tested the 8GB. Also worked fine.
I own Kingston 4GB microSDHC, works like a charm The problm may be in the card or your device. First of all try inserting the card when device is switched on.
Don't forget, maybe it was a shonky card in the first place?

It may not have been properly pre-formatted either, sometimes the factory format isn't perfect.
I also use 4GB Sandisk card. The only problem is it get's stuck (U can't remove it just by giving it a little push after wich it's supposed to pop out).
In some other thread there is a discussion of this problem and someone recommended "going round the edges with a paper clip" wich I didn't understand. Can someone who has solved the issue give me more details about the solution?
All in all 4GB Sandisk card seems to larger than normal.
I was about to buy a 4gb Kingston Micro SDHC on the weekend, but held off because my Sandosk 2gb isnt even half full.
It was a class 4 which i presume is faster than my Sandisk 2gb.
Im curios to know what the Kaisers actual sustained transfer rates are with the SDHC cards.
Imo, Kaiser will not be able to use full speed of the card even if it was 0.5 class =)) Higher class card only works faster through card-reader, not in the device or through Card Export.
I've also noticed, that my kingston is hard to get back from the device, but i think it is the problem of the slot cover - it really s*cks.

Is your Kingston a SDHC? And did you get a card reader with it?
When i had my HTC P3600i i found that whilst running TomTom6 off my microSD and selecting 6 types of POI it would hang as i beleived it would 'time out' as the data transfer rate was slower than allowed. This was using a Sandisk 1Gb MicroSD in a miniSD adaptor.
Hence why i am genuinely curious to know what is the actual sustained data transfer rate of the Tytn II.
Yes, it is microSDHC (I doubt you find microSD 4Gb large), cardreader was purchased separately. I'm almost sure, that inner kaiser controller will not be able to transfer data to main memory at rates close to the specified in the class description. Though, I also doubt, that you TomTom problem had anything in common with SD data transfer rate. I'm sure you were able to watch video from it (your card), and it is about 1500kbit/sec (HQ) - far more then needed to perform any searching operations. Practically, I've noticed, that copying files through cardreader is about 5 times faster than through CardExport and not sure this was device USB limitation.
After reformatting the 4GB Kingston micro SDHC card, it work OK!
Thank for advise! The shopkeeper thank me a lot, saying that if you don't tell me to format the card, I will never know!
Thank guys!

Hi all.
Just want to see what everyone is using as in size and revision.
Why i ask is HTC said ( to me anyway ) that it only takes up to 2GB microSD. On the other hand iv read on other pages they can take the microSDHC cards as well and larger than 2GB so some feedback will be cool before i go spend cash.
Thanks ahead
me
What is microSDHC?
How is it different from normal microSD
I've just bought a 4gb microsdhc card for my s730 and it's perfectly working.
(microsdhc is the new version of the microsdhc card which allow capacity over 2gb)
My 2 GB card (Sandisk Ultra II) is that fast...
write 760.68 kB/s
read 1976.20 kB/s
Hows your SDHC? (Use SKTools for benchmark)
yeap
yeap the microSDHC is a newer version of the microSD card. bigger capacity, also refered to as Rev 2 microSD.
Cool, looks like ill go for a 4GB microSDHC card
thanks...
I have a 6Gb one in mine works fine was £36.99 from PLAY.com, free delivery + Quidco points

I'm using the 8 GB från SanDisk, and it works just fine.
I have a 6gb sdhc works without a problem.
The phone should take up to 8gb and maybe 10 before it will need a firmware update to read it.
HTC probably has only tested a 2gb.
4GB SanDisk from play.com, £17.99
Pack included a microSD>full size SD adaptor* AND USB adapter for PC!
* not micro>mini>SD as with some cards

I got the 32 gb samsung sd hc I class 10 and it rocks. Thanks guys for your suggestions.
I use a SanDisk Ultra MicroSDXC 64 Go Class 10, it work PERFECTLY in my SP even if normally it "support only" 32GB .
I just format it in FAT32, because some of root-app (i.e. FolderMount) don't like very much exFAT x)
I heard some said that even 128GB microSD is working with XSP
