What ROM for IGO8?

As far I know (and observed), IGO8 is not working on WM6.1. So,what ROM shall I use to have a working IGO8?

Any ROM is fine as long as you have the latest iGO 8 v8.0.0.41506 (June 3 release)

Just tried IGO 8 v8.0.0.41506 (June 3 release) on my HTC Kaiser with L26_Kaiser_DIAMOND V9.
After installation I have a freeze on my device, after the acceptance of license (EULA).
If I reboot the device and try to open IGO, same symptoms, device freeze during start-up procedure.
Any idea, please?

Have you disable A-GPS using Kaiser Tweak or Advanced Config??? That could be the issue.

GPS prgrams problem (IGO 06+miomap)

Dear all,
thanks allot for helping me in previous issues but i have a very big problem which is that i have tytnII ( Kais 100 ) SPL-3.29.0000 and ROM Version:3.29.422.1 WWE
and changes it to 3.28.405.0 WWE and Hard SPL-3.29
and when i install the two programs IGO2006 Plus and MIOMAP
they intstall but when i click on the programs icon any of them they didn't starts
Note: i have already installed them to the previous ROM and the worked great
BUT after changing the ROM and the SPL the didn't
hope you can help me
and if any one please have the ROM:3.29.422.1 WWE please post it because i can't find it anywhere thanks
by the way if any one know any good GPS program that contains Egypt maps i will be very very very grateful

I have the same problem but never used HTC Home so this doesn't apply. If I soft reset and start iGO right away it will work, but apparently as soon as I start using the device a bit something will further prevent it from loading. I've tried lots of things but never found what.

Himalaya with Manilla2D Working!! (Contacts and Programs working now!)

After watching everybody with problems in adding contacts and programs, i tryed to found what was diferent in my Himalaya (it was working fine in my Hima!).
So i found that when I was trying to make M2D working in Himalaya, i previously installed lots of diferent software, and i did not see what i had diferent from you guys...
BUT KNOW I KNOW!!!!
I had 2 more .cabs in my Hima, they make the diference!!!
FOLLOW THIS STEPS:

From there download this update: »[UPDATE 16] September 26, 2008«
Inside the folder "NEEDED FILES" you'll find lots of .cab files
1 - Install "01. OX-ManilaCompatibleSharedDLL.cab"
It will ask to Reboot - Ok reboot!
2 - Install "02. ContactFix.cab"
3 - Download and install this .cab file from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/152207282/Manilla2D-Jack.cab.html
4 - Install "16. Manilla2D_HTC_Patch.CAB"
5 - Soft reset the device... et voila! See now if you can add contacts and programs!
Did not test other functions, but they might need other .cabs in package to run.
NOTES;
I've tryied the M2D version inside the package "15. 2d.Manila.Engine-Beta-0.09.cab"
Works also, but it's more heavy, so Jack version is better.
Also tryed install M2D costumizer with other themes and it's working fine.

Thanks for the links but i think the first file has a problem the it only downloads 11.3 kb and the file size is 11mb correct me if am wrong.

hi thanks guys links are ok was my comp. having the same issues no cant add programs or contacts etc.

Downloaded without any problem, Installed- Looks great.
But alas! Same problem- Cannot Add People or Programs. Internet- Launch Browser- not working. Settings- Sounds and Wallpaper no effect.

Good Point! Got some new phones recently and mixed up which was which!
Event the main XDA-developers page says that the XDA IIi may be an Andes or an Alpine!
It is indeed a Himalaya / XDA II!

Whats roms these play to?

I have same problem. With contacts, programs and etc.

After the new instructions in post 1:
*Programs and contacts now work
*Links on Internet tab do not work
*Images on album page work, but do not correctly fit to box....HTC Album only loads briefly and then shuts
*Music tab gives "Cannot play file" error, haven't tested with MP3
EDIT: Installing the Audiomanager removes this error, though I have no MP3s on my phone to test more.
*Cannot add location on Weather page, location list is blank. Probably missing link to .xml list.
I will look into fixes...

UPDATE:

FIX: Install HTC AlbumFolder Option.cab after installing the cabs mentioned in post one (and including the AudioManager cab)

*Cannot add location on Weather page, location list is blank. Probably missing link to .xml list.
Fix: Reinstalled all the cabs after hard-reseting phone, all of a sudden it works.
I am still looking into the buttons on the internet tab. I might try installing Opera, or seeing if there is a change in the registry...

PROBLEM with instaling IGO8!!! Help

I have meny problems with instaling IGO on my Touch 3G, so can someone please help me to instal it manualy STEP BY STEP, and what is the best version of IGO???

um i had a touch pro before and i could never get my version of igo 8 to work, but then i found this one on pirate bay:
iGo8 v8.0.0.49545 PDA FULL ROMANIA-map (fulgerul release)
it's not in english but u can go into the igo settings and change the language to english. this version worked great on my touch pro and now my touch 3g too.

i can help you if you need. first of all are 2 ways of installation: with autorun (it is installing by himself shortcuts) and without autorun. the second without autorun, you have to make yourself a shortcut if you need. so, let's begin with the beginning . what kit are you using? what error do you have?

Hi, i have problem vith IGO8 too in my HTC touch 3G... But, i instaled program, everithing is good and when i want to start my IGO8 it not work, program can not open... i dont know what is the problem.

If you paid for the app then igo will help you.

Already downloaded the file and flashed it to my fon. Flashing time is reduced from 30-40 minutes to just 13 minutes. Its fast and stable. Been using it now, i'll observe it and report any bugs i may encounter.

Hi mate
sorry but from what i read about this app you have to have wince_nls in the XIP and there's not enougth space in XIP, so It's a none starter
there's so little space left in the rom now with 6.5 that were gona need to find some other way to do things, we may make it to the end of 6.5 there's a small cab with my rom and that don't fit in the rom that's Y it's in the cab
but wm7 needs hardware we don't have in our devices

but I am having problem with external bluetooth GPS module. I turn ON bluetooth on the device and the module. Then pair it and select to use "Serial Port". But the device is listed as Disconnected and when I try to connect, it says: "Your device did not connect with GW-GPS-005. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect."
Passcode is correct and in WM5, 6.1 and some beta 6.5 it worked just fine
edit: same problem when connecting to Nokia 6260. Will try flashing some WM6 ROM to be sure the BT on Himalaya is working(worked last week, but to be sure)
edit 2: so the BT is working, but every 6.5 ROM I tried can't connect to anything... can someone please test if their bluetooth is working? please please

And flashing with this rom did not made any changes to the installed programs in my previous rom specially contact numbers,titanium theme and other components except for time settings, ringtone and task bar icons which have to reset or reinstalled. Noted speed and stability is still present. Is this related to flashing rom without losing data thread in development and hacking section? just curious

Hi mate
Over the last 2 years or so I'v had with many rom this sort of probs with GPS devices in 6.1 and more so in 6.5 ROM's
1) work round is to pair some other device/s IE: PC, Headset, or some other phone ETC. then pair GPS, It will then have to use a different port/dma/irq etc..
Over on Blue Angel forum "GloomyBoy" did a tutorial on fixing some probs with 6.5 an GPS it's worth a look
I'v just paired my bt_gps ok, It's unbranded don't know it's make got it with hima 4 years ago
Please let me know how you get on and ill see if its something that can be builtin

most times if you had programs installed to ramdisk then there still there after a reflash but not every time if new rom ramdisk size not same as last then it will be lost for sure,
P.S. after you flashed the ROM in the upgrade folder there's a file RUULog.log can you past it's contents or zip it here so i can see, Y your flash time is so short as it's 40 mins with my dual core 2gHz laptop

sorry i tryed porting to another language once before and didn't manage it,
i'v seen a tutorial, I think in hima forum how to doit but, you'll have to search it out and try it,
Note when building for any other language than "WWE" there are more file and there larger too, Space is in short supply
not saying it can't be done but it will be hard good luck

I looked over at the Blue Angel forum and the tutorial is basicaly the same I did every time when pairing my Hima with the GPS on WM5, 6 or 6.1 but is not working on 6.5(for me) because the dang thing is somehow unable to connect.
So I tried to pair something else. Headset is working fine and other phones not.
But this is no issue with your ROM, my Hima can't connect to anything on any 6.5 ROM as I found out. The only option for me is to flash 6.1 ROM and live with it, because I use the phone only as a GPS navigation
