Has anyone ported the YouTube widget from 2.0 to cyanogens 4.2.7.1?
I think your just going to have to wait for Cyanogen to catch up to Eclair. I doubt the infrastructure would allow it even then I doubt anyone is going to take the time to port it when Donut is being pushed out.
why not just flash eclair?
As much as i like the widget eclair is too laggy on my handsent.

Ok I'm on google ion and I'm thinking about going back to Haykuro's 5.0.2Hr5 I'm just wondering if all my apps will work on it? I ask because I "believe" that he made it before cupcake so I'm wondering if my cupcake apps will work on it? I'm trying to find a stable HTC rom I don't want cygans or however you spell his name cause it overclocks it I need battery life and when I had 5.0.2Hr5 iit was perfect anybody know of any if this won't work?
It is a "Cupcake" build, and they will indeed work. If not, all apps will update and will be able to run on Cupcake and will work fine . With Cyan's, you can use the program SetCPU and put it back to stock values for battery life.
Thansk so much I don't know much about overclocking but since 5.0 is cupcake ill learn more about it and download the app to speed it up. You wouldn't happen to know if that had a pdf reader? Well if not ill find out in the next 5 mins I'm about to flash back now.
You're flashing Cyan's ROM, correct? It does have PDF reader. SetCPU is free in the Applications forum.
does anyone know where i could get the internal/sd card memory widgets that will work with 1.6 donut (cm 4.1.11.1)?????? that's if they are even available... the ones on the market won't work. any help would be awesome. i really miss those widgets.
Best thing to do is contact the dev and tell them that the widgets aren't compatible with donut. We don't have the source so it's not like we can do anything about it.
i sent the developer an e-mail letting him know earlier today, but i know someone has ported over the hero widgets (or maybe they were just hero skinned). they were in the dark dream theme that i was running when i was on 4.0.4 . i was wondering if anyone knew if those work on donut

Installed through ADB and runs slow on my G1 as well.
not working for me on 1.6 but it seems some people got it working on 1.6 with different roms ..

That's the ealiest version i've seen it has been released for. Anyone know of a 1.6 release? A backport for this would be great.
the reason its so slow for the g1 is because it doesnt support all the 3d acceleration like the nexus and newer android devices do so it will always be slow, your lucky it ran at all, which is why the 2.0 update for the g1 is taking so long because they have to remove most of the 3d from it so it can work with the hardware.
i tried it both on cm latest and on the super d rom

But he had 2 gallery apps, but it works well on the Droid.
This App must load every picture on sd as a thumbnail.
Let him create. I wait over half an hour, than my hero gets all pictures as a thumbnail.
Then its really fast. Try it out! If the thumbnails overview is smooth and fast, then your Android has catched all thumbnails.
whenever i leave it to load all the images my phone goes to standby and when i come back it just starts from the beginning again

5 seconds of black screen and then slow, slow, slow, slow... waiting and waiting and waiting....
although the titles of my picture folders tilt and skew in neat ways as I tilt my MT3G!

uuuhhhhmmm... So clarify this for me... You're having to wait 30 minutes for all your thumbnails to load EVERY time you use this? Or was it only like that the first time you opened it?
why do people keep referring to android 2.1 as flan??? its éclair or is this a twig from the flan branch?
Wasn't it already established that it's slow on the G1 because the g1 doesn't have the graphic acceleration/3d Rendering like 2nd gen Android phones?
Like when the first GBC rom came out and it only ran between 0-12 FPS and then we gained hardware acceleration er sumethin'

Alright, I've been meaning to do this a while;
Jamezelle asked me to port his Sense Hero build over to the new installation method a while back but I've been really caught up with my personal build. Now that I'm at a level I'm comfortable with I had some time to do this for James.
Bear in mind this is a cupcake based build, so alot of the new work we've done to tweak android won't work here. But it was good then and it's just as good now
Please don't use the 'orange' launcher on setup. I just realized now after uploading 100MB that I put in a donut launcher that won't work in cupcake. so just use rosie.
I've tweaked it a little, including userinit on boot etc.
It is nandable. Boot up is slow because it isn't odexed however once up and running it runs as good as.. well as good as it did before.. lol

also make sure your running 320X480 if your not it will cycle at the HTC screen

how about at 320x428?
Just tried out nand. Its quicker than most hero builds but i cant get passed the usual incoming calls delay. 4 rings before displaying. Also, cant get passed iit being cupcake. Love the sense hero look though. Thanks for the effort

Everything looks great! BUT…unsuccessful downloads from Market. Does anyone know how to get Market to work? I will continue to review this port.

i have been able to download just fine from the market,
did you do a clean wipe or try to keep stuff from your last build when installing?

also you dont need to format your card for donut and above. so if you had started out with donut or eclair and didnt format your card thats probably why. cause i had to format my sdcard when i was using cupcake but then i had got a new sdcard and immediately switched to donut but never formatted my sdcard and it worked. just throwing out some possibilities

I love the Hero, thanks so much! I think it's running even faster than the tatoo, but since it's cupcake, all the wifi updates I have for donut and eclair don't work for the cupcake (I tried and with no luck), it would be perfect for daily use if the wifi is working, anyway, appreciate for your work!
Thanks for all the info guys. I love the senseui in this SenseHero build…but I honestly miss Myn's Warm Donut. It is the most fast and reliable build I have tried for the vogue. Even with the Market working in the SenseHero build, it lags to much to me. I will really miss using the mail, sms, album, and calendar widgets that are in this build. Does any one know if I could just take the apk's of the widgets out of the data/apps to insert into the ported Hero theme in Myn's Warm Dount?

Ok I know this has been asked around for Sense UI Roms but I would really like to know if anyone has been able to use the 2.0 unlock screen in 2.1 firmware. I know the framework PNGs are there so I assume its possible. Im just not sure how. I also dont want to go the route of using an app like lockbot because it just doesnt work the same and kinda slow sometimes. I just really like the 2.0 version so if anyone knows that would be greatly appreciated.

I realize that but the problem is that I just dont like lockbot. Sometimes it just doesnt lock and sometimes the background isnt there and sometimes it reverts back to 2.1 lock screen. Not a big fan of lockbot for those reasons.
I did tried to do some replacement with the .apks and .pngs but to no avail. It seems that there is problem with the Meta-infs and .jar files. When I was using 1.5 roms, I could easily port different apks to and fro my phone. It seems to prove difficult for 2.1 roms.
p3droid made a 2.0 lockscreen that works on 5.0.7 and 5.0.7.1 but does not work of 5.0.8. Just an FYI.
