hello i have flash a new rom 1.56xx on my blackstone spl 1.54 and when i do the calibration the screen goes white and after 2 second it returns on the calibration screen and doesn't go forward. i tried 3 or 4 different rom and also to restore the original spanish rom but the problem remains.
HEEEEELPPPPP
i tried also hard reset but nothing the problem remain
You need to accurately press the mid point of the crosses with a stylus. If it returns to the calibration screen it generally means that you have not accurately calibrated the screen.
i tried so many many times with stylus but it return every time in calibration. I have a question. can i with ceregistryeditor modify a value to skip the calibration?

Solutions:
1) Do not quick tap the "+" signs, press them (and wait) until they get moved by themselves.
2) If you have screen protector on your screen then it's time to replace it.
3) Please flash the official ROM first and then flash a custom ROM.
I believe the solution #1 should take care of your experience.
Try this then:
The solution to skip or bypass the screen alignment process altogether. (Some Chefs do this already, namely Dutty, to among other things speed up the set up process.)
How to do it: there are a couple of ways you can find in the forum, however, one way is to create a blank text file called, welcome.not, instead of welcome.not.txt, and place it in the root of your storage card. Next, flash a new rom or hard reset and you're done.
If all goes to plan, the "welcome" phase will be bypassed, any you will not be prompted to align the screen or set the date, location, time etc. If for some reason it does not, go into the root of your SD and manually with your stylus or via activesync on your desktop create a new blank file in there and name it welcome.not.

Using the method pointed out by ClydeB1, did it skip the alignment process? Please elaborate further on what didn't work. Out of curiosity, when you first began having this problem did you flash with your SD card in?
I have open the .nbh file with htc rom image editor and i have overwrite welcome.ink with a blank file. GREAT
i think that the problem is not with the rom but with the display. i have to jump the calibrate and with official rom with welcome.not in the root dir of the telephone and the storage card it works. with cooked rom no. when i reset the device the file in storage card remains but the copy in the root of telephone disappears. after so many hours of attemptes i have modified the rom and now i jump the calibrate

Hey everyone!
Read lots of threads here on the xda-developers forum, many questions, many answers, lots of "good guys" who are willing and able to help (many have helped me, thank you goes to them and all the others).
The bottom line:
Saw many many questions concerning flashing, bad flashes, error messages and so on.
I really don't know WHY people won't go for the easy way?
Flashing from a PC involves a USB connection through Activesync/WMDC, an application, we all know the procedure thanks to racerx_ (http://trinityguides.info). There are so many things that can go wrong: think about it, from unplugging the device, app error, comm error, power drop, connection drop, system hang and so on.
I don't know about the rest of you but I have done it the hard way but also learned to do it the easy/safe way. There's nothing more to the story than flashing from SD card. Procedure is well described in the Wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_SDCardFlashing).
I mean, all you have to do is press three buttons and wait for the flash, no risky connection drops, error messages, driver incompatibilites (see Vista problems), no app hangs.
I have tried many ROMs from over here and except for my first two flashes (first was Des' Crash Proof SPL, second was a cooked ROM) I've made them all using the SD card method and never got an error nor a situation with it.
So here's the question: why won't people flash the easy way?
well, have you actualy tried this procedure before posting this?

Read my post once again, carefully.
hold Power button on right side and Camera button at same time and stick with stylus in RESET on bottom
This procedure brings boot loader screen, with three colors, it doesn't bring anything similar to that image posted there.

Follow the steps carefully.
1. SD card with FAT32 and no label (it can contain other files, no need to wipe it)
2. Renamed nbh file to TRINIMG.nbh placed on SD card root
3. Power+Camera+Reset
4. Follow instructions on screen (Power button to brgin flash and Soft reset when prompted at the end).
It don't get any easier!
It SHOULD work.
Totally agree, I don't understand why ppl persist with the multitude of errors that crop up from flashing via active sync.
Using the SD card you can chuck a few ROMs on board to test and just rename each in turn to TRINIMG.nbh, move it to the SD root and enter boot loader.
Before I test a new ROM I make a static settings image with SPB Backup so I can flash back to the old ROM and restore back to how it was in a jiffy.
Just to point out for some ppl, some of the ROMs here are packaged into EXEs, you will need to extract the contents and only use the file named RUU_signed.nbh.
This process can also be used to flash Radio ROMs in case you flash a ROM that includes a radio that you don't like/use.
Good thread
P3600i saga continues
I wonder if the SD Card method works on the P3600i? According to the Wiki, it doesn't bypass the SuperCID check.
Olipro has modified his SPL-Trin to work with the P3600i. But so far there's still no definite way to flash it. No Hard-SPL, splxploit don't work, same for JumpSPL. So maybe this is the way? Any opinions?

No, sorry, it's not the way.
Flashing from SD card is not a workaround for bypassing SPL.
You still have to have some kind of a Hard SPL installed.
Please check the Wiki.

...and also bootscreens.
In other words, this method can flash any nbh file which could be flashed through the update utility method.
Easy and reliable
Fully agree with you tnyynt!
I always flash using the SD method.
Sometimes I even download the new nbh and keep it on the SD and upgrade later on when having time, not connected to a Pc... (I also have all the cab I need on my SD card).
Quick, easy and reliable (done many times).
Would be fine if the nbh would be released on this forum (rather than the .exe package).
Would allow to download them directly from the Trinity. i.e.: no more need for a Pc !!!
I always use this method, it is the only one that works for me and it's the most convenient I think.
I tried this method several times, but I was never able to get it work.
Yes I followed instructions carefully, but no. I only get three colored bootloader screen, that's it. No button to start flashing, nor screen that looks like that photo in wiki.
I really wanted this to work, cause I have an OsX. Since I couldn't get it to work I had to install xp and use it as virtual machine. From there everything works just great. Because of that, I still have to have windows on my laptop :-(
Speed
About this method: is it faster, same or slower than usb? (consider an average SD card, no high-speed)

yes, super-cid will void the warranty.. use hard-spl.. there's no reason to super-cid your device if you're flashing cooked roms..

Interesting, I'm sure someone will shoot me down but I'm not convinced it works with all SDHC cards... is your 4GB SDHC?
I can't get it to recognise the NBH from my 8GB but I have flashed many times successfully from my 2GB. Not to bothered, as long as it works
Nope, I'm using 2Gb normal sd-card. Also tried 512Mb card.
I recently got myself an X1, and I have to honestly say, its brill!
I am mainly using the spb shell panel, and like it for the reason that I can use my thick fingers to operate it. Is their any other user interfaces like this one?
Ok, I am a smart enough guy…(sometimes)…but I cannot for the life of me understand roms…and what you guys are going on about in these forums.
What I am looking for is a good selection of panels to choose from, however from what I can get from these forums is that I am better installing something completely different on the phone.. I assume this gets rid of my panels?
Do roms completely overwrite what is currenly on the phone? Ie. Panels, tomtom, etc.
Any tips would be much appreciated, as I am interested in a user interface that I can better customise to suit myself (cant customise spb mobile shell)…..
Thanks..
Roughly said a ROM is a collection of appz put in one file together with the WinMo OS.
What those appz are, and which version of winmo, totally depends on the creator of the custom cooked ROM. In the threads of the custom ROM is always a summary of what is included.
Most chefs delete the panels from their ROMs, except for the standard panels and the panelmanager. So you can install the panels you want to use.
When installing a new ROM (custom cooked or stock) it always deletes the phone memory, not your SD-card! So you need to install appz, change settings to your own need, and ofcourse put contacts, agenda, etc back from back-up.
Nice, thanks.
I think in that case that I will avoid them for now, as I do not have a good enough understanding of how it works. I will how ever make more of an effort to read into the process to understand how it will benefit how I use the phone.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, and yes.
Edit: You don't need to HARD SPL again before you flash it.
I believe that ROM is the generic SE one without any of the O2 branding.
If you need to return it for any reason you will need to reflash it with the O2 ROM (which I believe is available in the same thread as you found the one you pointed out).
You'll also need to change the hard spl back to the original.
Shame about the crack under the camera, did you know you can soft reset by holding down the power button for 3-5 seconds?

How do I change the hard spl back to the original??
I do assume though there is no way to reset the phone when it has completely crashed, without removing the battery. Holding the power button down has no effect.
Its a shame as I love the touch-it 4.5 rom. I almost would live with it being unstable just for some of the features (i.e Camera with autoflash, and the touchflo 3D interface).

Did you hard reset after flash, because I've been using Touch-IT 4.5 since the day after it was released and aren't experiencing big stability issues (hard reset is press the two directly under your screen and press reset button with stylo).

When the batterycover is removed there is a tiny hole next to the battery, you can use your stylo to press the reset button inside the hole (soft reset).

Don't know Resco first handed, but looking at the screenshots (http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/indepth.asp) you should be able to enter the registry at the base of the folder tree.
Hello,
Today I reflash my HTC Touch HD (the first official ROM from December 2008). First I made HardSPL unlock and then changed the ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555137).
Since then, the words smart mobility on the first screen changes color after 10 seconds (maybe one color from RGB disappears). But if I press the buttom on the top twice, the color is ok. In this state the text and images are absolutely unreadable. In fact, I would not mind this flaw, but it makes another mistake. When I tap on something, so very often happens that stops working touch layer. I recognised that, because hardware buttom volume up/down works, display indicate loudness, but taping on screen doesn't work. Sometimes after a few tens of seconds it makes better, sometimes helps only software restart.
Before I recognised, that the problem is probably permanent, so I reflash ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542104 and then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547278
Then I tried to save my device by official ROM (_HTC Touch HD_MR_2009_RUU_BlackStone_HTC_Europe_1.56.401.0_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24_Ship.exe), from this site: http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=533 and using this code HT849KD07000
Finally, I did SPL Stock.
But the problem is worse and dosn't work gsm module.

rename the RUU_signed.nbh to BLACIMG.nbh and pair this with ROMUpdateUtility -(application file). copy this two files in you formatted sd card.

Sorry, but I am not sure if I twigged your post. (I dont speak english well) But never mind, the solution of Lyptherion works.
I believe what jigners was suggesting was for you to use USPL instead of HSPL. Both work just as good as each other, though USPL is temporary and would not void warranty should something happen to your device. HSPL is referred to as permanent as it stays on device unless you remove it so would void warranty if something happened to device while it was still on.
But I'm glad you have solved your issue.

Programs disappear, Opera browser stops working and I have to reflash. Is this a common flaw with the Mighty ROM6 or is it something I am doing wrong? I just don't understand how it works fine and after a day or two of use I have to reflash it. Any and all input would be great...

I'm not sure about Mighty ROM6, but issues can occur when you don't clear the device from the previously cooked rom.
2 Choices to clear device:
• flash a stock rom first before flashing
• use mtty (link found in my signature)
Regardless of choice, after flashing the selected cooked rom of choice, don't forget to hard reset your device.
Doing this takes out the variable of it being your devices fault and thus puts back the onus to the rom.
Good Luck!

Well that leaves me with two questions....where can I find a stock rom and how exactly do you hard reset a touch diamond? I've tried the volume down + enter and then the reset button but it doesn't seem to work...any other tricks? What exaclty is MTTY? another rom?

Looking for you re: stock roms
as far as mtty is concern, it's a tool that clears your device. Not too newbie friendly though.
HARD RESET DEVICE:
Right after you soft reset reset (red button) simply press Vol_Down + Circle button, then when you see another simple gray menu choose Vol_Up to confirm format)

Look at the 2nd post, of edited my response there.
By the way, another trick is to flash a radio or a rom via Internal Memory Method found below:
COOKING ROMs & Radios from phone =-
1. open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the BIG .nbh file
2. rename as DIAMIMG.NBH
3. copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
4. soft reset your device and within 3 seconds push together the Vol_Down + Back button (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
5. soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
6. a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
7. while the upgrade runs be patient and don't press again the power button, reset the device or play with it until it finishes, when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
8. who prefer can perform a hard reset after the fresh cook (soon after reset simply press Vol_Down + Circle button, then when you see another simple gray menu choose Vol_Up to confirm format), even if this has no-sense because internal memory is pre-formatted during flash, but... there is always a but... for some unknown "scientific" reason sometimes an hard-reset can save time & headache
p.s. still looking for the pesty stock rom thread....
