txt input method

hello everyone!
I'm currently using letter recognizer, keyboard, block recognizer and transcriber for txt input. I've also tried blimkeys. My question is that are there any other txt input method other that those i've mentioned. Somehow like a block recognizer but would recognize txt input system as like letter recognizer?

I highly recommend tengo from www.tengo.net (Win mobile 2003 and upwards).
work very well, and is quite scaleable.
The Intell-pad from HTC is also quite good, although I've had problems installing this in the past (only works on Win Mobile 2003SE).

Can anyone tell me how to remove SIP from the Input Panel without uninstalling programs. Since i have a few translator programs they seem to install keyboard which i never use and due to this none of my other keyboards work except the default one.
Can someone help.

wm 6.5 and sms

Recently flashed a 6.5 ROM and having a couple of problems which i dont know whether they are ROM or WM 6.5 issues ??
The main one is that the SMS matching to contacts doesnt work. I have changed the number of recognised characters, which solved the problem on my stock rom, but that hasnt helped ???
i used a tweak to change the value. do 6.1 tweaks work with 6.5 or has the registry location changed ?
any thoughts from the experts out there ??

Has Transcriber been removed from WM 6.5?

Before I upgrade my TD2 to 6.5, I need to be sure that Transcriber hasn't been removed. It's the only reason that I use WM, so pretty catastrophic for me if its been dropped. I've checked the new 6.5 manual on the HTC site and there's no mention of it in the input options.

i don't see it anywhere...looks bad man...i'm sure there is someone who can wrap it up in a cab for you... ?

Transcriber is still included with ROM dumps. I personally don't cook it in my roms. Also EzInput will kill the default SIP menu.
I don't know if any cooks cook include that.

I have Diamond 2 with official wm6.5 ELL
Transcriber does not exist. Neither Letter Recognizer.
I'm going to beleive that official ROMs suck. If there was the guarranty limitation, I have already shifted to an English or cooked ROM.

Thanks, I was originally following that thread, but as it was for the block recogniser l was discouraged. Perhaps I'm one of the few that use Transcriber.
However the link you provided to sip registry Keys was enough to make me upgrade. l carefully followed the procedure and it bricked the TD2. A hardware / factory reset brought it back.

No, you are certainly not the only one using transcriber!!
To make it work again, locate it in the \windows directory and drop a link into the start menu. You can then always start it as a program and switch back to finger input by the standard input selection. Should transcriber start such that more than half of the display is unusable for input, just switch from portrait to landscape and back - everything should look good then!
As stated, it's just a workaround, but it works 100% and isn't too bad in handling!

Hi, yes the transcriber isn'y there, you might have to made some mod on the registry in order to make it work.

You will be pleased to know that it is back, as a download from HTC web site.
You have to install after updating to latest ROM.

Here's the link to the worldwide HTC site for the block transcriber. They have it for the Rhodium and Touch Diamond 2

I've changed my reg value to 00000000 etc to allow the install of the update, and its given me back the block recogniser and letter recogniser but not the transcrber

ROM without HTC applications?

Is there a ROM for Blackstone without any HTC application?
Besides the FM Radio application I found most of them annoying/performance degrading. Manila (IMHO) is a beast in terms of resource consumption, it's the first thing I disable after flashing. I'd like to install my own replacements for them, but they seem to be everywhere, starting from the notification bar to the messaging system and such.
I'm interested in both 21895 and 23544 versions, if anyone knows of such ROM please direct me to them. I found some Lite versions on the wiki page, but they are rather old (build 21051) and I'd like something more recent.

Umm... I really intend learning german in the following months, but I'm not prepared to deal with a OS in german right now
I would be great if chefs realeased their kitchens/config files (some sort of open-source), that way I could build myself a custom ROM. Starting from scratch is a little bit too much for me to handle.

Handwriting and Manila 2.5 ROMS

Can anyone tell me if there is a ROM like the Energy ROMS by NRGZ28 that still have the handwriting option in the Touch screen input selector? I really like the speed and features of NRGZ28's ROM's and so far they work great but I would dearly love to have the handwriting input again as I find it hard to see without my reading glasses... Or maybe someone knows of a CAB file to download to add this option?

Well it worked for one trial. The next day I tried and it kept dropping back to Touch input. When I go to Options and select letter or block recogniser and then click options button it says the recogniser could not be loaded... I tried reinstalling but didn't help. I tried a soft reset and also turning off the phone and back on but no joy... I loaded Transcriber (didn't see it until I submitted this post) and that works. Will wait and see what happens from here...

Hi all, as an update to this post for those that are interested. I mentioned that was using energy ROMs in my X1a, I found that if I use 23xxx roms even Transcriber wouldn't function properly. I also found that using 23xxx roms caused other issues with different apps as well. Using the 21911 Roms my X1 is quicker and the handwriting works okay. Seems that my particular X1 doesn't like 23xxx versions.
Pays to test a few different ROMs when problems arise even of the same variant or version. Also I run IGO8 and on the MaxSense ROM in landscape mode it was full screen and on Standard Energy 2/3 screen and Cookie Sense full screen also.

Just some feedback from my experience up to now.
Hi to everyone, I am tracking the topic and the issues of transcriber and letter recognizer reported. FYI I am using now Energy 23xxx Dinik Glass july 24th version and both input methods are running like a charm. Moreover they were also working great in july 10th version of the same rom and in the past while using many of valkyrie roms no issue there at all. Really I do not understand why you guys have problems with them...
