Ok, I have been on this site for a while searching for all my answers and finding them all...I now finally have a question that I could not get answered by searching!
When I am on a call and another person calls in I get the call waiting beep....BUT, It BEEPS, BEEPSBEEPS, BEEPS, BEEPBEEPSBEEPSBEEPSBEEPBEEPSBEEPSBEEPS....until basically it has rung so many times for the other caller it goes to VM. If i hit the "Mute" button on the screen of the other caller it does nothing, You would think it would stop the damn beeping. I have looked everywhere online and here how to change that. I know you can disable call waiting all together but i need it, i know you can slid the bar to "Ignore" but then it says to the incoming caller "you have been forwarded" and i DO NOT LIKE THAT.
What to do??
Edit: I even went into the REG and changed "Call Waiting Tone" to some other WAV or MP3 and it does not set. And I tried Deleting the "waitingtone.wav" in the windows dir with TotalCommander and i couldnt even do that!

Hi All,
With WM2003SE i have a lil bit uncomfortable thing. After period of time (approx 1 minute) an incoming call becoming a missed call, if i haven't answer the call.
Now I use WM5 (helmi 1.32), but I still found that such things. Does anyone know how to change/set incoming call behavior in WM5?
Means that..the ring still sounding (unlimited - like handphone) till the caller put off their call.
Best Regards,
Dave
you should change it in the sounds/notifications

Yeah, but how...
I did it, but it doesn't change anything. Have you try and ever trace this weird behavior..?? I've try with .wav, .mid and .mp3 ringtone type. But it still do the same things..after a period of time, the ring will stop and the caller will get busy line or unreachable destination
somone (sry i cant remeber who) in the forum posted this in a diff topic
Delayed ring - Workaround
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can increase the time it takes for voicemail to pick up. I set mine to max 30 secs and I haven't missed a call I've heard. My phone seems to ring after 2-3 rings on the other end. This may not work for every carrier. I'm on Cingular in the U.S.
Step 1. Key in the following into your phone *#61# then press the call/send button. This will return a telephone number and the current delay time before voice mail kicks in .
Step 2. Write it down.
Step 3. If you wanted, say, 30 seconds, before the Voice mail activated, then you would put 30 where the nn is in the following string and the telephone number from step 2 where the xxxxxxxx is.
Key in **61*xxxxxxxxx*11*nn# followed by the call/send button and it should update the delay.
For example, it would look like this **61*xxxxxxxxxxx*11*30#
If your phone reports the delay time, you can check by following step 1 again.
.
Hey all...I probalby should know this as I have uses a PPC device for 2 years...but I don't remember having this issue on my last phone.
When I am on a call and get another coming in it consistently beeps/rings for the call waiting.
I have set my phone up to wait 30 seconds before going to voicemail (as I am not always around the phone). Because of this if I am in the middle of a conversation and get another call, I can't hear the other party (and am distracted myself) because my phone keeps ringing the other line for 30 seconds until the call is rejected.
When using MS Voice Command, I get the same thing with incoming announcements. If I am on the phone with Caller A and then Caller B calls, MSVC keeps saying "Incoming Call from Caller B."
I don't want to turn off Call Waiting, but I would like to change the notification so it is only a beep or something simple every 5-10 seconds and not a continuous ringing or talking.
Is the caller ID ring/tone able to be managed differently from the ring tone/announcement? What is the best way to manage this?
thanks
bumping to see if anyone has advice?
I have Same Problem With BlackStone and this annoying me so much
Any advice ?
PhoneAlarm has a setting to Vibrate for alerts while in a call.
Hi All
I recently lost my ringtone and found a solution on here, so all is fine.....EXCEPT when the phone rings, the ringtone disappears when the scroll wheel (if that's what it's called) is moved.
Has anyone else come across this problem and if so found a fix???
The phone carries on ringing silently if I move the wheel, it's just the sound that disappears and that's obviously not very good if it's in my pocket!!
I've tried pressing all the other buttons when it's ringing to see if they make the sound disappear but they don't, it's only the wheel
Any one got any ideas????
Thanks
That's not a bug.
That's a feature...
My TyTN1 did that.
My P3600 did that.
My TyTN2 Does that.
It's the only way of making the phone go QUIET without canceling the call.
Quite usefull actually....
Honestly!!??
It's a feature??
How do I turn it off????
I like that feature very much, too. When someone calls and I don't want to talk to them I just hit the scroll wheel to silence the call but let it continue ringing for them. That way they don't know I'm ignoring them. I can plausibly be out of range of my phone or some other excuse. If you press the end key or hit "ignore" on the phone screen it sends the call immediately to voicemail and the person on the other line can tell they've been actively ignored...
I don't know if it's possible to turn it off.
ive always found it usefull. but sometimes it can be annoying as OP said when its in your pocket

The beginning of every sad story I've heard about screen cracks and phone damage, has always begun with , Well the phone was in my pocket and..............
When I pull my phone from it's padded holster I always look at the caller id first and do not wish to disturb other people while I decide. I appreciate the feature
I'm guessing it's a feature that can't be turned off then
HI guys! I have a little problem on my wings: when I'm already on a call and someone calls me, I don't recevive any acoustic alert; I mean, the screen shows me that there is another incoming call but if I have the phone at my ear I can't see the screen. Is there a way to make the phone ring or vibrate or anything else that tells me that there is another call??
THX
Settings=>Phone=>Call Waiting. Make sure "Provide call waiting notifications" is checked and then go into Settings=>Accessibility and change your In-call alert volume to increase the tone.
Thanks. I found out that I had changed too many keys in the registry
My ringtone goes from loud to soft then loud and back to soft again in maybe 1-2 seconds interval when there's an incoming call, which is kinda annoying. Anyone else has this problem? is there anyway to fix it? it's not set to increasing ringing and i know its not a sound file problem cos when i play it it's fine, it's just when set to ringtone this problem came up.
much appreciated if anyone knows how to fix this
Do you have Microsoft voice command installed? If so, disable the incoming call announcement. It doesn't work, they wont fix it but it tries to announce. It drops the ring tone volume when it's supposed to be announcing the caller.
Bingo, that fixed it, thanks a lot! but i've got another question then, if i do want voice command to announce the caller, do i disable my ringtone then? Or it doesn't actually work at all? I've read somewhere rather vaguely that it doesn't work on the X1 but on others like the samsung onmia it works, is that true?
(man i love this phone but heck these little things just keep on testing me)
I bounced my way around a few of the threads discussing it and couldn't get it to work on mine.
Tried different cabs etc. I did find the .wav file MSVC created in //volatile and I could play it manually and it had the callers name constructed correctly etc, MSVC just wouldn't play it. Create the file, drop the volume, wont play it
