Hey I've searched all over for which xml to edit to change the opacity/background of the pattern lock scrren. I really would like to change the opacity so you can see the wallpaper behind the dots!
I've search and search.
And quite frankly the search on this forum sucks. So I figured I would post here b4 I go to the themes subforum and get blasted by a moderator about how I didn't search!

i really dislike it! i really just want to change the xml files so i can change the opacity of the patter lock screen background

Sorry, I'm not much help when it comes to the coding and whatnot, but maybe a dev or someone with that knowledge will pop in and help you.
Figured i would post here first! Then when i post in theme section i have the satisfaction of know my thread woont get closed cause i didnt search or post in wrong secction... hehe . Thanks anyways ill figure it out!

Indeed yeah as this place as become huge now. I was thinking the same as I'd like to change it much like how on the Hero build you can too. As far as I'm aware there isn't a definite answer if you can or not.

go to cloverdales website it wont let me post a link for the site because i just opened this account but just look for his blue haze rom on this site and im sure that has a link. his site has the black bar mod. and for the sterickson lock just go to cm updater and download chm sterickson lock and then that will get you the lockscreen.

i flash the black bar mod....and i works...but when i flash the Stericson Lockscreen it turns the bar to its normal color again
Try flashing the lock first then the black bar over that.

no that doesnt work because that just puts the normal lockscreen back...i just tried it
sorry man I dont really use the sterickson lock but one way you could do it is flash the lock screen then use metamorph for the black bar.there is a whole thread on how to metamorph and You can get it in the market sterickson actually made the app himself.but using that there is a way to change the colors of basically everything.its kinda difficult to start off with but the thread should help you out and there us also videos on youtube for it

i tried it before....and it works perfectly except i'm having trouble changing the color....when metamorph the right files to change color, my phone gets stuck on the MyTouch green start screen

after some searching i think i found your answer once again i cant post links yet so just go to search and type metamorph then there will be a thread called metamorph post your morphs. in that thread near the top there is a morph from androidfriend that actually has the black bar plus the lockscreen. hope that will work for you

I have a telus milestone...I've been able to change the clock and date text in the notification bar (i applied my own black bar mod through metamorph)
the only problem is that all my notifications are still black when they pop up in the bar...
I've tried this tutorial:

Try copying the spare parts.apk to your rom of choice , sign it, and flash it. its a guess at ti bro hope u get it figured out.
Tried searching this but didn't get any good results...
How would I go about changing the lockscreen other than using something like Lockbot? Like a more permanent solutions such as flashing one.

Thanks for your response. but i wanted to really want to find out is how to edit the lockscreen within the system,root or whatever you call it "not" just install a theme for MM. can someone just throw a bone on how to edit these files cause i see that lock screen on other roms for eris wich are native on moto droids

thanks.... i actually did another search.... and i found the vanilla one... it took a while to get it working but i finally got it!!! thanks for the links!
No problem, I remember how frustrating lockbot could get back before I had root. Flashing a rotary lockscreen might have been the thing i wanted root for most

ya...i'm liking having a reliable lockscreen now but i liked lockbot because of the customization though... does anyone know if its possible to edit the sliders and stuff like in lockbot???
Hello just a quick question i wonder iff it is possible to disable the little clock in the notification area as i use her and clock widget so i dont think it is necassary to have that clock also i have been googling around but i cannot find an answer to this.
Ali ba´s Azure ROM with cyanogenmod has this feature.
Cant remember if stock has it.

The version of spareparts I use, has the option to disable the clock.

I think the sparepart version that can be dloaded in this forum have the ability to disable the clock.. though i cant remember which thread.. (maybe its in G1/Nexus1 thread..) just search around..
