Hi,
i have big problem with the USB Debug and ADB on my pc.
Everytime i stuck the usb of my g1 in my pc the internet stop working and seconds later i become bluescreen...
WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL...
Problem with NDIS.sys...
I use Fritz Wlan USB Stick for Internet Connection... without plugged in W-lan usb stick it fully work....
What can i do for fix this problem and use G1 and ADB...
Other question:
How do i delete actual undeletable Apps like mp3-downloads, google talk etc.???
Because i heard it's possible with ADB/Terminal Emulator...
ScorqYoN
If you are trying to use ADB just to remove apps, there's way easier ways to do it. You wont even need Terminal either.
Just hit up the market and search "su file browser" or "root explorer". These apps will cost you though. Su file browser is best by far. (pm me if u need help finding app)
all you have to do is navigate to system/app.
Click the "S" icon which will make your system folder read/write
Delete any apps you dont want in there.
Clear your Dalvik Cache and reboot. (optional)
Asa far as ADB and a USB Internet stick, i have no idea. Probably the USB port you set up ADB on is the USB port you're using for the Internet stick? ADB is causing a conflict somewhere. Are you using windows7? Theres a special way to set up ADB on 7, google it. It involves installing HTC device center i think (did it a while ago). Good luck.

But with your procedure I can delete all that is listed under Applications???
Can i do this with ASTRO, too???
I'm using XP...
I need ADB for many things...
The strange thing is, when my G1 is connect with PC, it won't detect other later plugged usb devices, like usb storage etc...
And their is a unknown device, which can't find a driver...
Please help!
The error (Bluescreen: WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL... NDIS.sys) also come when I connect the G1 without USB Debugging with the PC after few moment...
Wheres the problem...
With an other Notebook i also have configured ADB and it works super with W-Lan(Onboard) and Lan (Onboard).

I fixed the previous issue now I'm stuck on connecting to my PC via USB with activesync.. I had it working fine, now all of the sudden after a hard reset it won't connect, I searched for other similar issues but didn't get anything on here. It just will not connect, I've tried the uncheck advanced thing in settings on my phone, another hard reset, deleting/reinstalling activesync, I can't get it to sync, it will only charge when connected. Thanks for looking
I better start reading entire posts
You need to provide better info. What operating system is on your computer?
Does your computer/OS give a sound to aknowledge the new hardware/device connected? Like when you plug in a USB key?
Check windows device manager and remove any USB devices that may be your Kaiser and restart the system (without the Kaiser connected).
Have you tried deleting devices from activesync? If it is stuck on a different device, it won't sync another and a hard reset probably makes it look like a new/different device.
Fast replies, thanks! No sound when connecting, no green icon, it stays grey of course, I'm on XP 32bit, using activesync 4.5 and using WMWiFirouter to connect at the moment to surf. Usually I tether using it as a usb modem which won't work of course right now. I just deleted the device, still no go... Oh and i deleted everything under my USB submenu in hardware manager/device manager, and I just get the same popup still, "USB device not Recognized, One of the usb devices attached to this computer as malfnctioned, and windows... etc etc"
"USB device not recognised" comes from the PC? Does that mean the PC sees the USB device but doesn't know what to do with it?
Disable WMWiFiRouter on the phone and see if that affects anything. If it has anything installed on the PC try uninstalling that.
On Activesync, did you go to File, Delete Mobile Device? Try that, make a new connection.
Nope, nothing is installed on my pc from WMwifirouter, and I tried the phone without the router app also, no go.. My last resort is a format on my pc. I think I need to find and delete the registry or some driver files or point that one Unknown USB device in device manager to the correct driver for my phone.. But I don't know how. Or if that's what will fix it.
You didn't answer:

If you want to do that, you could try to uninstall the previously installed device driver by going to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Universal Serial Bus Controller...go from there
Oh yes, I did, tried that, and there was my previous one there and I deleted it. Now there are no devices in the list.
Check AS connection settings if USB is enabled. If it is, disable it, put the phone in bootloader and see what happens.
You don't have anything like WM5storage installed on the device, do you?
Better to reflash the phone (by storage card) before format your PC.
It's bedtime for me, good luck. Try the G.W.E.N.I. thread and wiki and see if anyone has your problem before. I think there has been.

Ok i made a post and it was moved to trash and it says i dont have permission to post there so ill just move it here.....
Ok well i have been trying for like 2 hours now to get ADB to work. I followed all the guides, installed the 1.5 SDK and everything even did the Enviroment Variable thing as well. When i plug in my G1 i dont get any popup of a new device or anything. In device manager there is not ADB as well just Android Phone and when i uninstall it, it installs again on its own when i plug the phone in again. I went to cmd and typed in adb shell but i get "device not found".
Anyone know whats wrong? Btw im using Windows Vista SP1
I went into fastboot and that gave me the new driver notification so i have fastboot working but when i go to ADB i get device not found and device manager finds my phone as a universal usb device or w/e. Why wont this work?!?!?!?
It sounds like you didn't install the drivers.
Read this (I wrote it). You should have adb working in no time.
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f28/what-is-adb-made-easy-17732/
Did you update the driver for the phone (should currently be showing as one of the USB Composite Device, IIRC) with the ADB driver included in the SDK (android_usb.inf in <sdk root directory>\usb_driver\)?
If you are using a 64-bit edition of Vista, alternatively, you can try the 64-bit signed driver found here. Also, you can try the updated driver I have attached.
Well, if you used your phone as a card reader at any point before you enabled USB debugging, then you'll have to uninstall the USB Mass Storage Device associated with your phone first. After that, unplug and plug the USB cord back in and it'll install the USB Mass Storage Device and then it'll ask about the ADB interface. That's your chance to install the driver that everyone is talking about but didn't spend the time to explain how to get there if you were in this situation...
never mind i got it. I used a program to uninstall all the Android USB drivers then i plugged it back in and it worked. Thanks for the help guys!
I fully rooted my NC and installed a number of apps that work but now my NC wount mount to my computer as separate flash drives. How can i fix this problem? Did i do something wrong? Ill appreciate the help.
Funny, I just realized this happened on my NookColor as well - just got to the bottom of it though.
Somehow, my Windows box was recognizing the Android Composite ADB device twice, and this was somehow nuking the usb-storage mode. The fix was simple:
Make sure adb shell isn't running
Go into device manager, and uninstall both instances of "Android Composite ADB Interface" - I deleted the device drivers to be sure (Windows 7 option)
Unplug NookColor from USB
Plug it back in after a few seconds. Let Device manager do its thing. For me, it fails and gives me the 'Drivers not installed' caution symbol next to the "Nook" entry in the Device manager.
Rightclick on the Nook entry in Device Manager, then select 'update drivers.' Point it back at the original USB drivers that you used while rooting when prompted.
Wait for the system to do its thing, installing all the drivers - takes a good minute or so. Drives appear in your Explorer
(I had to unplug and replug before the computer would actually let me access CONTENT on the Nook and the SDcard - your experience may vary.)
Or you could just use adb to push/pull files.
You could - but I find it easier when my media directory (for instance) is just mounted as part of explorer.
Mine does the same thing. Tried your solution and it still don't work?
Plumbergeek -- I have found that sometimes the last installed APK (application) causes this fuss. Uninstall the last thing you added, reboot and try again. Sometimes I have to go back several applications to find the culprit. Once the offending APK is identified I then try to find an alternative application to install.
If you don't know how to uninstall applications, search the threads ... the answers are here. You can also install an application called Quick Uninstall. This app, though, usually will not delete/uninstall system applications.
Hope this helps!

Well, the last one was Auto Config Script so I'll just wipe it and start over.
I have the same problem and can't figure out how to fix this
Both drives are listed in Device manager as B&N Ebook USB Disk storage
but the won't mount in windows.
When connected to PC that wasn't use to root it driver installation will fail
and there is Unknow device listed in Device manager (Nook) and two B&N USB Drives
but they will not mount as well.
Did anyone found what causes this ?
Thanks
Never mind, got it,
you have to push the n button to get it in to USB mode.

That's strange... i've never heard of anyone having to do that before...
Anyone else need to do this to mount?
I've always had to unlock mine to get it to mount in Windows. I just thought that was normal... is it not?
Sent from my Nooted friend...
I was going crazy unable to mount the storage and this did it for me
I have no-lock installed so unlocking wasn't the problem for me.
This didn't help. I can't even find those in Device manager
I'm also stuck with this problem. I am on Linux and can see two drives listed as B&N Ebook Disk, with all the other properties "unknown". I can neither open the drives nor connect to them with adb. It says that there is no device connected when I try to connect with adb.
This problem only started after installing Honeycomb. I was able to connect to the device through USB just fine when I was on a normal-but-nooted os.
Drive letters appear in explorer, but still can't write to them
Hi, I have a variation on the problem... My ADB install is confirmed (via cmd line) and I have two new drive letters appear (I guess it's one for the nook's internal memory, the other for the micro SD card). However, when I try clicking on either letter, Windows pops up an error message saying "please insert card". If it helps, my device list ID's the nook as a "composite USB device", not as a "nook"... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Same issue. This is killing me.
For some reason my nook won't show up in windows 7 device manager as anything but a storage device (both the nook and sdcard). It doesn't show up under "other hardware" like all the tutorials show. I am at a loss?
Should I reset my device (unroot, wipe clean, etc)? And try again or am I missing something.
I am looking to get ad hoc working and am stuck in the mud
Depending on what ROM you're running... you may need to go into nook color tools and toggle usb debugging mode... it is a known issue in some ROMs....
You may also need to edit %userprofile$\.android\adb_usb.ini so the only line in it is:
0x2080
anyone have problems in ubuntu 10.04 can't get it :'(
I figuered it might be that I had tried some different kerenels recently. I did eventually return to stock. I have toggled debugging mode to no avail.
I will follow the other instructions you provided and if all else fails wipe her clean and try that.
Thanks.
Sent from my rooted nook color using Tapatalk
I have the same problem and am using the stock kernal. I have even tried two different computers (one with Win 7 and the other with XP) and get the same result. The first time it I tried with XP it showed "NookColor" under Other Devices with a ? mark. In just a second, it reloaded Device Manager and would never showed up again. I have tried all suggestions including the USB Debugging toggle with no positive results. By the way, I rooted using auto-nooter 3.0 for Nook Version 1.1. Everything seems to work well and I am using ADW Laucher EX. I am familiar with ADB as I used it root my Motorola Droid. In that case, I had no problems with it seeing my Droid.
Any suggestions would be helpful. I also have Ubuntu on a test computer that I may try if no solutions are found.

I had the same issue in Ubuntu 10.04. My Evo would show up fine. My NookColor I could not get to show up though. No matter what I tried (I tried all the walk throughs on forums, Nookdevs.com, etc).
I finally just gave up. I've just been moving APK's from my Evo to my Nook to install them. There are many other things I'd wish to do through ADB other then install apps though so I may give it another shot sometime soon.
If it worked in some ROM versions and not in others... you need to check the device ID in windows device manager... get the PID for the device listed.... then you will need to add the device PID to the .inf file for the drivers so it will know to use the drivers that work for the "new" device (not really new.. just HWID change in some new kernels/ROMs
I had a world of trouble getting getting my computer to recognize the nook so that ADB would recognize the device. I mean HOURS of debugging.
However.. good news!... The answer that can help you is...: screw it and just download adbwireless app. All you do is run the app while connected to your home network and then on your computer run the the command "adb connect 192.168.1.xxx:5555" and you are connected and can run adb just like you were USB'd up
I hope this helps
Recommend installing the easy ADB install for Windows from the developers forum.
On Win7, sometimes you need to force the driver to use "USB Composite device" or "Android composite USB device", even after doing the easy ADB installer above.
Managed to get ADB working after Autonooker 3.0, Nook 1.1
Hi, All,
I had similar problems. I managed after a bit of fuss on my mac to get ADB up and running.
The main problem seemed to be getting USB debugging working. I went into nook color tools, from ADW launcher. I went to All Settings : Development, and saw that USB debugging was checked, but I didn't believe it was running.
So, I unchecked both Auto Mount (to simplify what the heck was going on over USB) and USB debugging, and hit back, to save the settings. Then I went back into debugging, and re-checked USB debugging.
Then, I made sure that ~/.android/adb_usb.ini contained the line:
0x2080
I killed the adb server and restarted it, and voila, ADB.
Hope this helps some folks.
Dave
I am in the same boat, adb works fine on my other android device, but won't see my nook for anything.
I have tried every permutation I have seen of the rules file, still nothing.
I am having a problem when I connect my N6 to a computer.
I can use fastboot commands and I can connect when I check the 'Camera PTP' but when I select MTP to transfer files it isn't 'seen' by my computer.
I have tried everything (well not 'everything as the problem is still here )... changing USB cables, deleting drivers ect wiping my phone and reinstalling stock rom but all to no avail.
I have read about this fault http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/82059/adb-not-working-but-fastboot-is but I can't find a solution.
Any help out there ?
What camera app are you using? I would try a different camera app, or uninstall and reinstall the camera app, sounds like that's the issue. The fact that you can run ADB commands tells me the computer see's the phone, give that a go. I use "pro capture" it's like 3.00 but it is one heck of a snapper.
I only have stock camera at the moment. The problem isn't with the camera as the computer sees 'PTP' and I am able to transfer files that way.
The computer doesn't see the phone when I select MTP file transfer.
I am on Windows 10.
FYI - I have the same issue with Windows 10 not seeing my N6 via MTP, but I still can use adb/fastboot commands with it, and use adb push to push files to it. To move files to/from my phone, I use AirDroid.
