WM6.1 is it Usable ???

Problems:
1)There is no auto complete for words or dictionary. Very annoying when I start typing a name in text messages. Because now I have to click "To" > click "Name" > Click "Number"." SOLVE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1930517&postcount=71
2) Is it possible to Create a Gmail account in Build in Mail app ?
(( All pop/imap email accounts are disabled. The error message is "company policy prohibit internet email on this devices". won't be able to set up new email account either. Can these WM6.1 be used on everyday davice ??

both problems have been fixed.
question 1. solution is in the page 8 of the original thead.
question 2. the problem is happened only after registry and emails have been restored from a backup. make sure do a fresh installation .
this rom is pretty fast. the only thing I missed is the today google search bar.

I'm using this ROM for 2 weeks now. It's very stable and like said above the problems are fixed. So I would say it's very usable for every day use.

There's one more problem - obex transfer to Treo via bt and ir (sending is doing fine) Except this one I love this rom.

IS it possible to use Plam Messeging App insted of WM6.1 coz i want to keep my Conversations on the phone and i dont thing there is easy way of tansfring DB from one App to the other ??

You can try istallig it. Saerch for "palm messaging app" - I've seen it few times. Cab installer is floating around. Or if you want I have it on my disk - PM me your email.

A have the app as well i instald it on at least 3 other phones (Friends)
Qestion is Will it work ? (correctly)

I installed this ROM and it's great. FYI, I installed the Palm Messaging and it works fine. It also does MMS with no problems....

Yes i read it b4 and instald Wm6.1 today so far the only annoying problem is that i have to have American Region Settings (for some reason) or Windows live Messenger and E-mail do not Work... E-mail saying Error Syncronizing and Windows Live messenger saying Chek Time and Date ... :S

I got e-mail to work propely but still can not sign in in to Windows live Messenger !!! it realy anoying it keep saying "We were unable to sign you in to Messenger. Try updating the time and date in your device's settins." grrr my date and time is correct and i tryd US UK and Russin time zones same thing !!! grrr

I installed it but found it dissatisfying. I had to install VoiceCommand 3.8MB, I had to install MMS handler or Palm Messaging App (2-4MB), plus what I normally keep on the device. Brought me to around 27MB of space free. Using the OS in my sig, I usually have nearly 40MB free. One thing to note is that the ROM seems to be very fast and stable. I personally prefer the Task Manager and the threaded mail app. Not enough documentation on how to configure/hack VC so that it will work with bluetooth. I read the thread mentioned in a previous post but could not get it to work. I would personally like to see VC in the ROM as well as WLM (windows live mobile). I was able to connect to our exchange server via AS and add a POP (gmail) account. My biggest dissatisfaction was with VC and MMS.

WM6.1 SMS deleted automatically, without doing anything

Hi all,
I have Tilt and I am very fond of messaging.
I was having a conversation through SMS with a frnd and when i was replying to one of his SMSs, all of a sudden hung a lil bit and all the SMS of his has gone.
Then later i checked, some people and sites who are regular with their SMS (3-5 SMS in day), those SMS are also gone but not the complete thread is being deleted.
I am not able to understand the pattern.
Is it like that each thread can contain only a specific number of SMSs.
And earlier i thought this might be a problem with my handset or s/w, but today one of my frnd who uses HTC 3400, had the same prob.
Kindly help. I had more than 1000 SMS in it.

Palm Messaging

Maybe I'm posting this in the wrong place but I don't really know, I'm not good at navigating forums. the problem is, a while back I bought a palm treo 750 off ebay with mobile 6.0 or 6.1 I don't really remember but it had Palms messaging app standard. I love this app but the thing is, the app is sending repeats of the same message to the recipient. I thought it may have been the phone so I sold it to my bud and bought another Palm Treo 750 this time with windows mobile 5.0. it also comes palms messaging app. once again, it is still sending multiple texts to the same recipient. what little information I foun about this on the internet came up with this theory: after sending an sms, I may be closing the application before it can "save/remember/register" that the message had been sent. then when I open the app back up, it thinks it has an unsent sms and resends it. This is my main problem. any information or even a solution would be FANTASTIC. Also I was wondering how to change palms mms settings from 300k to 600k(palms messaging app, NOT ARCSOFT!!). please email any information to me at [email protected] because I'm not very good at working forums. thanks ahead for any help!

SMS lagging on all 6.5 roms?

I just installed Laurentius' L26 rom and the SMS interface is very slow, I was wondering if this is just a problem with his rom or is it slow in every wm6.5 rom?
Also, is there any way to get back the "people" tab (for your favorite contacts) from the old TF3D?

try the latest EnergyROM 11/10, the SMS is fast enough for normal use. It's so much better than any other ROM there in earlier dates. Of course if you have threads over 100 SMS, it will become slower, but still useable.

Well its not the exact same problem but here goes:
When i get a sms it dosnt display the name of my contact on the manila tab - i just shows the number. Ive checked and double checked and the numbers are the same - any idea whats the problem?
Oh yea and its quite slow on the sms part

MMS sending problem
I have no problem with SMS sending and receiving using HTC Messaging, and no problem in receiving MMS. However, I still cannot send MMS out from HTC Messaging, even though I have copied exact the MMS Server settings as in Arcsoft MMS.

I've this sms problem as well. When I have more than 25 sms manila still shows me 25 sms. And I have the feeling that everything over 25 sms makes my touch hd incredible slow and very vulnerable for freezings. I used so far dutty and pdaviet rom's

I had the same problem here in Hong Kong and the only solution I came up with was adding the country code and area code to all my phone numbers. Now the name shows up when my contacts text.

The 25 limit on the TF3D tab is by design. It's only meant to quickly review the most recent couple of messages you've received. If you want to dig up that one message from this one person from a year ago all that flicking suddenly isn't so fancy anymore If you want to see all your messages the left softkey should do that.
As for the slowness, i've seen this in NRG from October 9th and in Laurentius26. Im on NRG from October 11th now, and decided not to put all my smses on the phone. I'll just keep them on my computer. The empty HTC messaging client is pretty quick ;-)

In answer to first query, depending on what build you are using sms can be slow. Some of the newerbuilds have fixed earlier issues with sms in 6.5, so best advice would be to to read up on a few 6.5 roms and try them out. Would also ask in Laurentius thread as you may find a fix has been cvreated or a new rom released with fix.
In future try posting within related rom thread and search/read before creating a new thread

SMS Arcosft , Paging issue help !

I love the default sms program Arcsoft. My only issue that I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere on the forums (just short of getting a 3rd party app that really sucks) , Is there a way or hack that can remove the "older" & "newer" hyperlinks every 4-5 sms's it's insanely irritating to have to click that dam button 10-12 times to see what I texted yesterday.
I would just love one free-flowing sms list that is threaded and all I would have to do is just use my flinger to scroll up and down.

I 2nd that! Doubt it tho

if all you want is a good sms app that lets you look at ALL of your threaded messages between one person , you can start with one of the 6.5 roms .
for instance nrg's photon ROM has integrated tf3d messaging app where you can just scroll up through an entire sms conversation with a person.
