Has anyone tried this specific "smart cover" case?

I looked around for smart covers on ebay and found the cover below. It doesn't fold around like this case does and in general looks more stable judging by the pictures (they could be wrong though).
Have any of you tried it? I have not found a review of it yet but I figured it might be worth asking.

Good question. I've been thinking about getting this case too. Anyone actually got it?

Looks cool, but it would have to be much more stable than it looks to me.

Yes I have this case, I tell you its a beautiful case to hold and look at. There are other colour variants available which I got the red one.
Its very sleek, doesn't add much weight or bulk to the device.
The sleep functions works brilliantly, and doesn't lock the device when you fold it over to hold like a book, which some do.
ONE DOWNSIDE!!!! - The stand is very hard to figure out (i have not yet figured how to fold it to make it stand up haha !)

Have you got a link for any of the other colours? The ones I see in multiple colours are the ones with the wrap-around magnetic closure in the back (which I have, I'd like to have one that just lies over the screen for use at home).

Yeah the coloured variants have a lip that does go round the back, but its not noticeable and surely you want this to keep it nicely closed and secure?

I think it's noticeable, especially when I have that extra flap to fold back over when I'm using the N7 in my hand.
I want to keep it closed and secure, sure, when it's in a bag or something. But my N7 spends most of its time on my coffee table or bar; I'd love to have a slim case with just a flap over the screen to keep the dust out. That doesn't cost $30+ like the Poetics or Portenzos of the world.

So do you have this exact case or not? I've seen the other ones and I'm not interested in them after reading the reviews. That's why I started a new thread about this one. If you do have this one, some pictures would be great.

I went and ordered one of these, but likely won't have it for a couple of weeks since it's coming from China. Will post my impressions when it arrives.

That's a different case, with the wrap-around flap on the right side. I already have that one.

look, heres the deal, that case may look pretty but any case like that wont stay closed. for it to be closed, there would have to be magnets along the edges like the portfolio. any case maker that says the case will stay closed without magnets on the border is lying.

I own one and its awesome. Buy it.

I have to admit, I never really liked these cases... but after seeing that YouTube review online, I'm curious enough to give it a shot.
I'm absolutely in love with this Speck case, but I do have a minor concern with it. I use my Nexus 7 frequently, very frequently, and not only that but I use it for work. I'm continually walking up and down the hall at work going from one problem to another, using my N7 along the way. As a result, I'm concerned I may wear out the clip on the Speck case quite a bit. This only became a thought when I realized the clipping mechanism is significantly easier now than it was when I bought it. Broken in? Maybe. Will it get even softer? Very possible. This case ensures that won't happen since the magnets of course don't have physical contact to wear like that. While the higher stand up position seems a bit easy to topple over, the other one with the N7 (one I'd likely prefer anyway) looks a bit better in terms of stability.
At any rate, ah, I bought one just now - we'll see what happens when it gets here.
Edit - for what it's worth the one I ordered did indeed have the magnetic flap that goes around back to ensure it stays shut. I'm not sure I'd consider one without...

Case arrived today, so far I like it, the cover lies flatter than the eBay case with the extra flap, and it feels slimmer. Only downside so far is that it sometimes puts the tablet to sleep when I fold it back. We'll see if it gets better over time. I'll try to take pictures when I have a chance.

maybe slip something to block the magnet on the back? not sure what can maybe help on that front, but maybe a little thickness might be enough.
Side note, anyone have this and the poetic slimline case? I got the first case they had for my uncle, but it's a bit difficult for him to open. I'd get him a portenzo like mine, but it might actually add more bulk than I'd want for him.

info on the illusive "Bodyglove Case"

Normally these kind of things are not worthy of a thread but I had a hard time finding this case so hopefully I can help with this thread.
As of today, you can not find this on ebay, amazon, or other web stores found through google search
The only known website that has this is sprint.com and bodyglovemobile.com and they are both out of stock. I saw them in stock around 11/12 on both site so it's not those "we haven't updated our website" thing. It really is out of stock.
I called 7 official sprint stores in Los Angeles and only one store has it.
If you have a hard time finding it. Do a search on yelp and call around your local official Sprint store and refer to part number CZS5478Q. Non-official store are not owned by sprint so they will mostly not carry this accessory, don't waste your time on those.
The price is $24.99 + tax, sprint store currently has a 20% on entire accessory order if you buy 2 or more accessories. If you get a $9.99 screen protector you will end up paying $27.94 + tax. Just something to think about.
This case will fit Sprint, ATNT, TMobile version of the Note II and very likely international version as well. I believe there are also T-Mobile version and ATNT version of the bodyglove however I find the sprint model most pleasing to my eye.
Last thing I want to add is that this case is very slim. Doesn't add too much thickness like generic ebay tpu cases. The protruding protection edge to the screen is only about 1mm.

How does the back feel in the hand? Looks like kind of a rough texture.

Back feels great. It's not as slippery as the battery door. This thing is also super slim; exactly what I wanted. Better grip and a little extra protection without added bulk. Only thing less bulky would be a skin. If you're prone to phone drops this may not provide the best protection but I'm careful with my toys so I'm not worried. Had my friend who works for sprint pick one up for me. Saved me a few bucks

feels great, I change phone and naturally the case as well.
The embedding diamond pattern is about 1/4mm for the "height".
It is not rough on the hand.
This is the best tpu case that I ever purchased.

Looks very nice. Going between this and the Blue/Black Seidio Active Case w/ Kickstand. Called all the local Sprint stores, no stock. I have a cheap $3 case on my Note 2 right now that I will keep using until I can get a hold of something better.

Does ur version (T-mobile) of the case slides in & out of the pocket easily?the material looks alike with those spigen sgp ultra neo hybrid cases..& they r easy to slide in & out of the pocket...could u please take a picture of the front side?..thanx for the info..

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I did manage to grab the last one at my local sprint store and grabbed one and I am happy with it. Wish the edges were a little firmer but it feels nice and doesn't add any bulk. HATE paying 25 for a thin piece of plastic but i guess it is what it is.

LuvTab Nexus 10 Case

Anyone have experience with these cases? It looks pretty solid, but states they won't have stock until December 1st. It's also in the UK, so shipping time must be considered. I'm just wondering if it's going to be available somewhere else sooner or stateside!
Kind of digging the white, but I feel like the different color retention tab being visible when looking at the device could be a bit strange.

I had one of those cases for the transformer infinity and have to say I love it! Very protective, good for flat reading, good as a media stand and the materials (in the one I had) were very good.
Negative things I would say is that my transformer one almost fit the nexus 10, so I am suspicious of people passing off old stock as new, and the fit not being optimal for the new device.
Although at that price I might give it a go anyway, as I'm in the UK

That looks good, not too thick by the look of it. That is one of my main gripes with a lot of cases i see out there, take a lovely sleek tablet, and then wrap it in a thick bulky case. I can understand it if you are trying to protect your device, but for me, a case is for no other reason than stopping accidental scratches to the screen and to allow it to stand up. There shouldn't be a need for anything over the top.
The only thing i don't really like about that case is the grippers that hold onto the tablet. I would much rather a case with some alternative sleeker method of holding it, it just looks, i on't know, industrial?

Anyone worrying about the magnetic effect of the case? I've read reviews on LuvTab® for Nexus 7

Some were complaining about the bad magnet, which may damage the compass of the tablet. I am looking something without magnet. Of course I can buy a silicon case or those sleeves. But I want something that can create a stand. And it looks like everything that can create a stand is with magnet.

Seems like this has been delayed for a week or so.

I emailed the seller and he said the delay was only for new order not existing ones and that i should expect it next week

My case was dispatched today since i live in the UK i should get it in a day or two so ill post a video review when i do here

I bought mine from eBay. It finally shipped today.

Mine has been dispatched today too. Will probably arrive in 7 weeks given the state of the postal service!

I've just got my LuvTab case and I have to say I'm not impressed, in design its similar to one I had with the tf700, but the finish on the outside, whilst described as leather, is like a mock carbon fiber plastic finish, is pretty nasty if you ask me.
Will be arranging for a return, as I think there will be better quality options out soon

im trying to get a case for my nexus 10 but wont cases like these where u need to constantly snap off the bottom part of the case to fold eventually break/scratch the device?

I got mine from Tmobile, there is no case included in the package, i saw this video and there was a case included. I like it 'coz it has a plug / cover for the usb. Or is there any variant of that?

- It is not close to perfect fit. The handset could come out anytime easily.
- The part for micro-usb and phone jack doesn't close all the way after 3-4 days. I decided to cut that piece to avoid hassle.
- The ruber looks already worn just from putting in my jeans pocket.

Yeah it's not great, definitely not worth paying money for but I'm still glad they included it. I'm still using mine until I can figure out which third party case I want.

Just sold mine on Ebay. Offered to someone on here but the postage to US was around $15 - obviously you can buy a case for that.
On the flip side, had mine since release day and used as a daily driver and not a mark on it.

seriously dude, did you have rocks in your pocket or something, or drop it a million times, or leave it on the roof of your car? i find it extremely hard for that to happen to your case from your "jean pockets." not trying to be mean or anything but i think your story about this case is a little farfetched. all the research i've done on this case has been nothing but positive

Have to say mine is a week old and hasn't shown any sort of wear as yet, and this is in jeans and my work trousers. Not sure what the hell happened to the other guys case!
anyway, it was free so even if it does start to show wear I'm not that bothered

I'm sorry to disappoint but my case starts wearing off on the edges too. I only wear jeans and not the tightest ones at that. I never dropped my Phone and i do not have a car. Hence i didn't even leave the phone and case in bright sunlight to heat up or something.

Made a picture if mine few days ago. Here it is.

The case was included in the box for me, as a temporary case, it's fine, but I'd strongly suggest buying a different case if you're going to order one.
I, myself, have ordered a Dot View case, but I'd suggest getting a Spigen or something if you're ordering one.
Here's mine, been in use for a since 27/4, I usually take care of my devices so I'm not sure how it was scratched this much, but that shows how scratch prone it is:

I've had mine as long as you have and... what the heck do you do with your device? Either your jeans are too tight and caused all that scuffing or you're doing something else with it because mine looks pretty much the same as it did the day I got it -- and the flap still closes properly.

I've got it on my M8, and its scratched, port covers doesn't close properly, and doesn't slide in and out of pockets very well. Good for a case that comes with the phone but wouldn't recommend buying it if you didn't get it with your phone.

I was rubbing the case against a rock, the only thing i had in mind was to make HTC look bad. You got me, dude! wow...
Anyway, i am using dot view cover now. THAT is indeed something, i can recommend to protect your device. It is a little uncomortable to write with 2 hands though...

Bought a folio case on eBay , I think it might a copy. Packaging looked legit, but after comparing it with some genuine ones. The wording on the package is slightly different instead of just having the word "Case" and "Nexus 5x" on the front it says Folio. The real issue are the buttons , they have no feedback what so ever, they are not raised like on the original case and trying to wake up the phone or raise the volume takes multiple tries. I also noticed that the font on the fake case is more bold versus a sharper looking font on the original.

That sucks It's definitely a fake. I had to buy mine of Amazon...they still have a few legit grey ones left for the same price as there were at on the Google Store ($35). Unfortunately Google dropped them the very day they dropped the Nexus line and announce the Pixel. I have SCOURED the internet looking for original ones and the grey ones on Amazon are it! Every single thing on eBay (and every other place) are really inexpensive (read:cheap) knockoffs from China in colors that Google never sold lol. Even Adopted doesn't sell them anymore. Also, be careful on Amazon...their some confusion regarding exactly which case it is. The one you have here is not the folio, just the regular one, and people selling on Amazon have mixed it up too.
Anyway, I'm sorry to see people get burned like that. Just a suggestion...I would demand my money back instead of a repalcement if possible, but of course do what you want. Best of luck!

"Folio" is a known N5X case maker. They do copy the original one. Their price is usually around 7-15usd. If you pay for it more than that, then the seller scammed you.

I have some OEM Adopted cases that I have for sale. I have 4 non-folio light grey ones, and 3 folio dark grey ones.

I just received this case from eBay two days ago, it's fine. Just press a little harder on the buttons.

I purchased a knock-off case from Ebay myself (was maybe $5?) and I'm pretty happy with what I got. Its certainly not as nice as the original, but for $5, its really hard to complain.
The buttons were stiff at first, but have loosened up over time.

yupp my brother bought a case from ebay. and I did from google. i see the difference in build quality, the cloth on back is cheap. case openings are not very precise.(but workable) etc.

Biggest giveaway is the camera opening: not really angled/curved like the original. otherwise the fabric they use is just straight-up velour or whatever haha. Probably has a nicer feel than the somewhat confusing material that the official cases use. I swore I saw on on eBay just a few minutes ago that looked like it was suede; I'd definitely deal with a knockoff case for that material haha

Found couple of them on eBay for around 15$ and they seem legit, but the shipping costs exceed the price twice (33$ or so, shipped from US to Croatia).
I cannot find them on Amazon though (neither com, co.uk or de). Any help would be appreciated. I'm interested in regular one, not the one with screen cover.
