Anyone have experience with these cases? It looks pretty solid, but states they won't have stock until December 1st. It's also in the UK, so shipping time must be considered. I'm just wondering if it's going to be available somewhere else sooner or stateside!
Kind of digging the white, but I feel like the different color retention tab being visible when looking at the device could be a bit strange.

I had one of those cases for the transformer infinity and have to say I love it! Very protective, good for flat reading, good as a media stand and the materials (in the one I had) were very good.
Negative things I would say is that my transformer one almost fit the nexus 10, so I am suspicious of people passing off old stock as new, and the fit not being optimal for the new device.
Although at that price I might give it a go anyway, as I'm in the UK

That looks good, not too thick by the look of it. That is one of my main gripes with a lot of cases i see out there, take a lovely sleek tablet, and then wrap it in a thick bulky case. I can understand it if you are trying to protect your device, but for me, a case is for no other reason than stopping accidental scratches to the screen and to allow it to stand up. There shouldn't be a need for anything over the top.
The only thing i don't really like about that case is the grippers that hold onto the tablet. I would much rather a case with some alternative sleeker method of holding it, it just looks, i on't know, industrial?

Some were complaining about the bad magnet, which may damage the compass of the tablet. I am looking something without magnet. Of course I can buy a silicon case or those sleeves. But I want something that can create a stand. And it looks like everything that can create a stand is with magnet.
Seems like this has been delayed for a week or so.
I emailed the seller and he said the delay was only for new order not existing ones and that i should expect it next week

I've just got my LuvTab case and I have to say I'm not impressed, in design its similar to one I had with the tf700, but the finish on the outside, whilst described as leather, is like a mock carbon fiber plastic finish, is pretty nasty if you ask me.
Will be arranging for a return, as I think there will be better quality options out soon

My goodness , i was planning to buy it from my local htc distributer . Now i think im planning to switch to others .

I've had the same case for nearly 4 weeks now - constant use every day and its still as good as new!!!!
Reference the question above - the case is made from leather with a felt lining - and it fits the phone perfectly without increasing its size too much - so unless your happy with something more bulky I strongly recommend this case..... really!!!!
As I've said - I think you've just been unlucky and you should ask for a replacement.....

Oic , i think i will reconsider again if you said like this . May be just sometimes we were unlucky !!!!
I looked at mine again yesterday in more detail. The right hand strap that has failed is considerably thinner and "weaker" than the other side. I am therefore not surprised that this happened.
Have ditched mine, gone back to a more secure case until the Noreve comes in. Not really prepared to risk a £500 phone in a case that can fail like this one just has.
The annoying thing is that, from a design perspective, its quite a good case. Just seems there are quality issues with it.

It is a matter of personal choice of what suites. I have had and still have many cases that dont fit or you can't use the phones features. You get what you pay for in my opinion.

If you take the time to look more closley they are not exactly the same but far from it. Im happy with my £29.95 Noreve Case you buy the £7.00 one. As i said before it is personal preference.

First of all, I feel like I got ripped off, this case is nothing but annoying, the flappy door always get in the way even when its flipped around to the back,
you think they would atleast have put a magnet on the door so it has another purpose as a smart cover, I feel like they rushed it, and it's barely worth 10$, let alone 19.99$+Shipping. I would rather have a 10$ leather or tpu case from ebay.

Not trying to be, but when you spend almost 30$ on something that is worth 7.99$, and is nothing but a bother, yea, im a tad bit mad, but not too much, just got annoyed and decided to make a rage thread about the case.
Not saying its trash but certainly isn't worth the price (prob worth like $15 shipped? Maybe $10 and $15-20 if it had a sleep function)
i saw a video review of it on Youtube a couple weeks ago and it looked cheap. Reminded me of a TPU case with a flap.
I'd buy it off you for $15 shipped.
Overall I like it, EXCEPT for one really annoying flaw: The hinge is WAY too stiff and it keeps trying to close itself if you fold it behind the device.

I'm surprised anyone bought it. The first time I looked at the Nexus 7 I quickly looked for accessories for it on the Google Play website, looked at the cover ... said NO, looked at the extra power adapter, said NO for the second time.
Everyone knows there would be a flood of covers and other things for the device in a short while.
It's a pos ripoff. Much better out there at half the price.

In hindsight (being what it is), Asus admitted that more of these sold than expected. The price reflects a premium on brand, and it was very plain what these were going to be like from the pictures. They looked like basic silicone with no added features, and they are. Asus said nothing about the sleep feature of the Nexus 7. There was no reason to believe that their cover would take advantage of it.
Had I bought one of these, I also would feel ripped off. Not by Asus or Google, but by my inability to hang on to my $20 based on the facts at hand.

Actually I kind of liked how it looked from the pictures - what the pictures don't show is how badly it handles trying to put the flap behind the device.

The look is nice, but what you bring up is what I immediately thought when I saw it for the first time. There's nothing to hold the cover back and it's not hinged in any way. Asus even had pictures of it splayed out on a flat surface. A video would have made it apparent for sure, and like I say... I could have been wrong at the time. I simply put my bet on the other color.
Did you watch the numerous video reviews on this forum that said the cover sucked balls before you bought it?

By the time they come out with it there will be a hundred others just the same, this Chinese one on eBay is very similar to the fit folio http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150880476182 and is available now. Can't speak for the quality mind you but I've ordered one for the hell of it.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for, but that price stings a little bit (unless it's free 1 day shipping - just my 2c though). There's enough generics on Ebay for me to consider one of them and to just eat the typically longer ship time.

I was even kind of at the Amazon one @ 25, but 35 is enough that I'd pass. Though it does make the Amazon unit look more appealing all of the sudden...

Ah well, I'm not losing any sleep over it. When I talked to Speck on their chat system I asked just how quick the free shipping was, mostly because I'm leaving for a trip on Tuesday and really want this case before then so it's not sitting on my porch for 2 weeks. They assured me the free shipping should land it at my house by late Friday or early Saturday, which of course would leave Monday as a decent backup since I'm not leaving until Tuesday. I also scored a 10% coupon code on the chat system... I just asked and they provided me with a one time use code. Not too shabby. Between that and the free shipping which seems moderately quick (whereas Amazon is 8.60 for 3-5 day shipping) I'm still pretty :good::good: with ordering from Speck.
Only thing is USPS Is kind of in regard to tracking info, which is how Speck shipped my case, whereas Amazon is solid (in my experience). So right now I have no idea where my item is besides the fact "it shipped."

I knew I wasn't "crazy" and alone in having 3 or 4 cases usually for my phones for the particular need I have at that day/moment. Powered cases, hard cases and cases that are somewhat "my children proof". I've had, mm, 8 or 9 Android devices, maybe more and the kids have managed to spill or pour drinks on 5 of them. My 1 year old even threw (literally threw) my HTC ONE X into a bucket of water.. Plop.. HA, oops.. Counting, XOOM can't be mobile, needs to be connected to power to work after water spillage on it. 2 Nexus 7s (2012 models, my 2013 model is hands off) don't have working USB plugs now, but I can charge them via the dock and POGO pins. A Samsung Galaxy S was water damaged, wifi doesn't work, forget if sim card works. Some motorola phone that was given to us was stepped on and yet again, water spilled, for some reason my kids love mixing water and android devices. Yet they can spend 'a good time' using them for Youtube and kids games, 2 + 4 year old are their ages now. Have been Android user since 1 + 2 respectively :good:
I've only got the case that came with the international M8 and bought some ebay HK "genuine leather" case that will let me put it at various viewing angles and fold up like a wallet/purse thing so I _hope_ that manages to keep my kids at bay. May this phone be the first one that doesn't go for a swim! Oh, I hosed my LG G2, 'somehow'', use FreeGee to backup EFS, tried a particular radio, no good, did a 'simple restore'. Phone was hosed, EFS was corrupt or dead, or whatever. It was giving boot loops, constant reboots once in ROMs that worked, no wifi/sim.
I finally have it at a state, it is in either a LG or KK ROM as I want, 20 minutes to restore JB Stock ROM or so, and upgrade if wanted, but no radio/sim/wifi which sometimes reboots. I'll play with it if and when I finally find myself not glued to the M8 at any true spare time (No kids, not on motorbike, not doing stuff with tablets or PC). Hopefully, August, heh heh heh.

Bought a folio case on eBay , I think it might a copy. Packaging looked legit, but after comparing it with some genuine ones. The wording on the package is slightly different instead of just having the word "Case" and "Nexus 5x" on the front it says Folio. The real issue are the buttons , they have no feedback what so ever, they are not raised like on the original case and trying to wake up the phone or raise the volume takes multiple tries. I also noticed that the font on the fake case is more bold versus a sharper looking font on the original.

That sucks It's definitely a fake. I had to buy mine of Amazon...they still have a few legit grey ones left for the same price as there were at on the Google Store ($35). Unfortunately Google dropped them the very day they dropped the Nexus line and announce the Pixel. I have SCOURED the internet looking for original ones and the grey ones on Amazon are it! Every single thing on eBay (and every other place) are really inexpensive (read:cheap) knockoffs from China in colors that Google never sold lol. Even Adopted doesn't sell them anymore. Also, be careful on Amazon...their some confusion regarding exactly which case it is. The one you have here is not the folio, just the regular one, and people selling on Amazon have mixed it up too.
Anyway, I'm sorry to see people get burned like that. Just a suggestion...I would demand my money back instead of a repalcement if possible, but of course do what you want. Best of luck!
"Folio" is a known N5X case maker. They do copy the original one. Their price is usually around 7-15usd. If you pay for it more than that, then the seller scammed you.
I have some OEM Adopted cases that I have for sale. I have 4 non-folio light grey ones, and 3 folio dark grey ones.
I just received this case from eBay two days ago, it's fine. Just press a little harder on the buttons.

I purchased a knock-off case from Ebay myself (was maybe $5?) and I'm pretty happy with what I got. Its certainly not as nice as the original, but for $5, its really hard to complain.
The buttons were stiff at first, but have loosened up over time.
yupp my brother bought a case from ebay. and I did from google. i see the difference in build quality, the cloth on back is cheap. case openings are not very precise.(but workable) etc.
Biggest giveaway is the camera opening: not really angled/curved like the original. otherwise the fabric they use is just straight-up velour or whatever haha. Probably has a nicer feel than the somewhat confusing material that the official cases use. I swore I saw on on eBay just a few minutes ago that looked like it was suede; I'd definitely deal with a knockoff case for that material haha

I cannot find them on Amazon though (neither com, co.uk or de). Any help would be appreciated. I'm interested in regular one, not the one with screen cover.
