10MB hack for hero rom??? - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, I found the thread for the rom hack for Cyanogen's roms, and I saw that SenseHero's thread had the bfs rom hacks posted on his thread. If I switched to KiNgxKx's Sense Hybrid 2.3, could I use the bfs kernels from Sense Hero's page? or if not, what rom hack should I use??

i would like to know this too. If anyone knows please give us an answer.

oc rom question

I am using open eclair beta right now and I really like the 580mhz oc that it has. has anyone modified cyanogen, super d, or dwang with this oc? if so, can you please link me to it? thanks.
No. The Dev himself confirmed that he thought the oc patch is not working.

CyanogenMod 5.0.7 and RAM Hack?

I don't know enough about compiling kernals, so I'm curious if this is something another dev will have to do after a proper version of 5.0.7 is released, or are there kernals that can be flashed now to have it?

I tried the vuv2 kernel since it worked of nfinite's .6 rom but it doesn't work on the actual stock rom any other ideas?

[Q] If I am running stock 2.1 eclair can I load a 2.2 rom or does that not work?

Can someone please post a response?
You can load a Froyo rom. Just go to the development section and find one you like.
Yes you can, view this forum for all custom ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=706
My personal favorite is Cognition.

[Q] Eclair vs Froyo ROM

Hi guys, i'm going to flash a new rom to my G1 soon, but before i do that, what would be faster? An Eclair rom or a Froyo rom? Thanks for your help (and sorry for the stupid question)!
It really depends on the rom for me i stick with donut roms and trick them out with the latest ADW and a theme and maybe beautiful widgets donut is the fastest and best with battery life but as far as eclair vs froyo
Eclair roms are down the drain so try biffmod
USe the thank button
From my experiences, Eclair is definitely faster for me than Froyo. If you want to try out an Eclair ROM, I would suggest SuperE. It's definitely the fastest Eclair ROM I have found.
However, just like the poster above me, I would recommend Donut ROMs. I just went back to Donut ROMs, and I love the speed it gives me. I think I'll be sticking with Donut ROMs until I upgrade my phone.
I would say froyo. Try biffmod 2.1 with 2708 port, this thing is as fast as any eclair or donut rom for that matter. 15mb radio/spl hack does wonders.

Yeah I agree Froyo is bound to be faster since it isn't a ported ROM. Most or all of 2.1 ROMs are based off of CM5.0.8, which was a port from the Nexus One. When google released the AOSP source for Froyo, they included the G1 drivers natively. They are much more stable than the eclair roms.
But, like others said earlier, donut is always going to be faster on the g1, but less apps are supported.
