Noone an idea?????
Last time i had problems with market working now with beautiful widgets...
Just wipe and start over.
But if i wipe all my apps and data are lost...
They are linked to your google account on the market, just redownload.
Ahh, the apps under market->downloads are linked to my google account?!
Cool.
But i have to download the apps i'm installed from my sd card, like setcpu or something else, or???
Is that right???????

If you do a wipe then you won't lose your programs, because as you said they are on your sdcard ext partition. But a wipe will reset all your apps to their original state (meaning saved info will be deleted).
Regarding your widget issues, should I assume you are using the free version? Not the donated one? If so, I bet that is the issue in installing new oness
If it is still on your phone, it will be in /system/app/ , I forget the name, but it starts with com.
I have the "free" version, recently downloaded addon, but doesn't work. I almost almost positive it is because it's not the donate version

Hello everyone.
Is it possible to get Market updates on apps that are sideloaded?
Let me start by saying Yes, I Google (and forum) searched for a solution...probably for the better part of 2 hours and I couldn't find an answer.
I recently went from cupcake to CM 4.0.4 (great ROM). But before that, I used ASTRO to back up almost all of my apps to my SD. After flashing, I used ASTRO to restore my apps, but now none of them show in My Downloads in the Market. Also, when I search for an app that's installed on my phone, the Market doesn't recoginze that I have it installed.
Is there anything I can do, or do I have to download them again?
search for "atrackdog" in the market

Market will not care at all about sideloaded apps. It will only update the apps that it has recorded in its local database. Wiping deletes that database. It would definitely be nice if the Market had some kind of bulk reinstall, but you have to keep in mind that the AOSP team never intended for users to wipe their data/cache very often.

i guess learn how the market database works and then add all the entries back into database after reinstall?
aTrackdog is your best bet. I use it all the time and always tells me wehn there are updates for apps on my ext3 partition.

aTrackdog works well for finding the updates & once I install the update, it appears to register to the built-in notification system, but my purchased apps still aren't working.
I'll see what I can figure out about the Market database files & share whatever I find.
Thanks
I'm pathetic because I just goto the market using my wifi connection and search for all my apps and update them manually and then later I get notices. Sure it takes some time and its work, but I don't flash my roms a lot like I used to.
Hi,
i just upgraded my Dream to CM4.1.9999. Did a wipe and everything works good so far. Before the wipe i backed u my aps with Astro. Now, on the new Rom i installed Astro and instaleld the backed-up apps. After installing them, when i look in the Market under "Downloads" those dont show up. In 4.1.4 i remember all Apps used to show up under there, regardless if hey were installed from SD or the Market. The reason why i mention this is, because now i wont get update notifications for those apps. Would be quite some time to reinstall each app from the Market.
Also, in CM4.1.9999 is it possible to turn of the Camera shutter sound?
Thanks!

Only apps installed by Market will show as installed in Market. What you saw with 4.1.4 is probably because you gone back fast enough. Just use aTrackDog to keep your apps updated. It's faster than the notification you get from Market anyways.
or so u can make sure they are paid for

Check out ToyCam in the market.
alright i've never had to wipe my phone before, but going from cyanogen's 4.0.4 to the latest 4.2.3.3 is creating some problems. I have a few questions before I do so.
1. how do I backup the market list so I can redownload all the apps and reregister through market?
2. what happens to all my current applications on apps2sd? should I just format that partition?
Easiest way is to use mybackup pro or backup for root users. But what I normally do is copy the apps/apps-private folder, push that back and redownload the paid ones when I have free time so it shows an update, when it works... =p
i already use mybackup pro, but I want to be able to use the market to redownload rather than install a bunch of APKs that dont register with the market for updates.
The market will remember all your paid apps based on your google account.. Just open the market and click the downloads tab to grab them again. It usually remembers unpaid apps too, but I've had a couple of wipes where it didn't.
isnt there a file I can save that remembers the market downloads?
Not that I'm aware of, but I've wiped hundreds of times and all except maybe 1 or 2, it's remembered everything on the downloads tab.
So I tried the new MIUI rom for Milestone and I really liked it, I switched from CM7, and when I did a data restore from CM7 to MIUI, it made my phone freeze and not run properly, giving me system errors. So I wiped and did a davlik wipe as well. Did a nandroid restore to my CM7 rom and used Astro file manager to backup all my apps. Than I wiped again and flashed MIUI, than used astro to install all the apps again, but they do not show up as installed in my market. Just the purchased ones show up as not installed, just pruchased. Is there a way that I can fix it, so the market will detect me installed apps so I can update them. I was hoping to have to avoid reinstalled 50 or more apps.
Thanks, Adam.
Hope all that made sense lol

Use TITANIUM BACKUP and use the option to force app to show on market.
the Market Doctor? or is there another option? Will restoring my apps make them appear in the market?
Thanks.

Download the TITANIUM BACKUP and them look for the option to attach the app you want to the Market.
Simple like that.
search app call "google xxx architecture" in manage application, clear cache, reboot, relogin gmail, open market
off coz use tititum backup to save the app for DR

What about the apps that it didn't attach? it maybe did half...
Hi. I am using the official CyanogenMod ROM for SGA. What happened is that I installed its first nightly build, uninstalled the live wallpapers and the live wallpaper picker. Then went to install the updates that followed.
However, I've noticed that the said apps that I uninstalled before were still uninstalled after the updates. And while reinstalling them was a success, they didn't work. Choosing one of the live wallpapers will do a force close.
I know this is not a big deal. But I want to know why that's happening.
Also, another question. I'm using S2E. Is there a way to move certain apps (like handcent, go launcher ex, etc) back in the REAL internal memory while retaining the other apps in sd-ext? Thank you.

Yeah you can move appz to phone memory. Launchers, widgets are must to keep in phone memory. Otherwise they'll not work. Try moving them in manage appz option in settings then move to phone

use link2sd bro... it works as an app .. so u can easily manage apps just choose the app from where u installed and move it to sd then phone memory ....
believe me really really easy.... and does the same works as s2e.... rather s2e will slow ur ROM in long process but link2sd won't .. just click on clear cache easy
With the Cyanogenmod problem, try flashing the version your on again without any wipes.

plus i think u need to manually put the live wall paper apk in system apk by root broser..and then set permission to rw-r-r
Hey, thanks for all the replies. Sorry it's just now. I found out that live wallpapers were working only in the first nightly release of the said ROM, then it was removed on the succeeding ones.
I've tried Link2SD. Well I had a problem with it. One time after reboot, the partition didn't get recognized, thus I had to reinstall everything. I'm sticking with S2E for now. Thanks people.
