Anyone had any luck getting a Redfly to work with the HD2?
I got a C8 and they're trying to give me a firmware workaround to it might work with WM6.5 (since they're only supporting their newer models from now on), but still no driver working adequately for the HD2.
The latest driver kinda works but my phone usually needs a soft reset after disconnection.
... might be stuck with just using my bluetooth keyboard for a while but I did like the 8-hour battery life and the bigger screen too.
I wish I had an answer for you but...sorry. But I'm also a C8 owner and Oh! how I wish I could have it work.
The available driver totally locked my HD2 so I had to hard reset.
it works for usb connection. for bluetooth, i havent test.
it should works, but first u have to upgrade redfly firmware to 1.5
>>p.s. i use miri's 2.1 rom. its is awesome. many thanks to him
Updates:
Bluetooth connection is working. Everything is fine. I even got teeter the game running, u can tilt the leo for controlling g sensor while video is fed to redfly c8 screen.
Sorry but which driver did you use?
I had to hard reset too
After installing the latest Redfly cab in my HD2 it would not finish the boot anymore.
So battery out, hard reset and a nice hour of re-installs.....
Today it worked with some limitations
celiocorp.com/008
works today, the hardreset may have helped after all....
And the limitations are:
- a soft reset after each disconnect is required. A second connection without the soft reset blocks the HD2
- BT kinda works, some keys do not seem to respond and often the HD2 blocks
- Email application, IM+ and internet pocket explorer work well, have not tested much the other apps
(these are the ones I will mainly use in the Redfly)
Using USB connection
- Some USB sticks can be read (not all of them)
- VGA output works even for 800x600 resolution. Photo album works, but not slideshow.
Does anyone here still have the drivers for the Redfly? If so, please attach them to a reply. Their website is gone.

I was wondering if anyone has had problems with their Infrared port on thier wizard. I have not been able to get mine working since the stock Cingular rom. Are their any .cab files or other drivers that may get this thing to work again or some diagnostics program? I'm running modified 2.24.10.1. ext 2.25.11.102 Tried a search but came up empty. I kind of miss being able to beam and sync via infrared.
Im not sure if its a problem with your IRDA, I have a feeling that the new activesync does not sync over IR.
Thanks Herman. I think I did hear about some removed features or problems with the new activesync. But my wizard will not beam or receive beams either. It really didn't bother me unitil I wanted to try the new Novii software and realize that my Infrared stoped working sometime ago. Any suggestions?
i could wirelessly connect via infrared with the latest activesync
Could it possibly be a hardware malfunction? I seems unlikely to me because of the few glitches this device reportedly had, IRDA wasn't one of them. Man I really hope its not a hardware problem.
it could very well be the hardware that's broken, i can't really image a way to test it properly so you know. Waht i do know if the device is within guarantee just send it back you get a new one
My IrDA works fine as well. ActiveSync 4.xx works with IrDA as well. The only problem I have is new laptops don't come with IrDA any more. However, they do come with Bluetooth and I use BT to do ActiveSync. No need to line up the ports and I can sync up to 30 feet away.
I suppose I could send it back in, I just did not want to go throught the trouble of locking it back up and putting the stock rom back on it. I know for a fact that it was working at one point because lined the port up with my laptop and it started to load wm modem drivers for some reason. Also it may very well be my ir port on my laptop because I cannot access my wireless link icon. Everytime I click it it does nothing. I forgot I had an old T-Mobile MDA collecting dust, so I'll try to beam to it.
Aaaah we.ll i had the idea you would have allready tried it on more then one device. Try send data(vcard, picture) by ir to a random phone that has an ir port and of course try reveiving something.
Good luck!
My mda worked perfectly, with my laptop that is. Could not sent or receive anything with the 8125. My last and final attempt will be a downgrade to to the stock rom, which is the last time I remember it working.
Is there a way for me to use a regular PC Bluetooth keyboard for my TyTN II?
I have this keyboard that would really work well with the device.
It would prove to be a really cheap alternative to the keyboard that is made for the PDA's, plus, it would make alot of things alot easier.
I would assume you must make a program that can read the signals made by the keyboard, but is this possible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Bluetooth is Bluetooth, no? What happens when you try to pair the two devices? That's a sweet idea, by the way.
I think this might interest you as well. There's a way to connect a BT mouse to WM devices. I found it on Handango.com, although, strangely, it doesn't show up if you select the AT&T Tilt as your device (but it does show up with any WM5 device).
BlueMouse
I'm going back to grad school soon, and am loving the prospect of carrying 3 small devices that (almost) do the same thing as one heavy laptop!
EDIT: Just read through this thread, and WM6 actually has native support for BT mice! Except for Microsoft's own BT mice... lol. However, I think BlueMouse supports them.
Have a look at this link for a cheap alternative :
http://www.amazon.com/Stowaway-Ultra-Slim-Bluetooth-Blackberry-Handhelds/dp/B0002OKCXE
Buy it while stocks last, I would have brought one but I live in the UK and shipping will be too expensive along with any other taxes they may want to add unless one of you guys can send me one.
Pairing
I have a Logitech bluetooth keyboard with an integrated touchpad. But when I try to pair them, my device just doesn't find the keyboard.
Although I find it amusing, I believe it is even slower using a bluetooth mouse for my phone, than actually using the touch function
But we are atleast on the right track.
For now, I use pocket controller for using my keyboard. But the downside is that it's slow and you need your device connected to the computer at all times.
Imagine using a regular bluetooth keyboard! What a dream ^^
Have you tried using a regular bluetooth keyboard that doesn't have an integrated touchpad? There could be something about that configuration that WM can't handle.

Assuming your PC BT keyboard supports the HID profile (it probably does), it should work with the Kaiser right out of the box, as the WM6 Bluetooth stack has HID drivers built-in.

Ok. Now my device actually finds the keyboard, but I can't connect it. When I click connect, it asks for a password. I enter nothing, and it continues to where I can select the purpose for the keyboard. When I press finish, my device tells me that the keyboard wants to connect to my phone. Now I need a password to continue, so therfore I enter a random password, like 1111. Then my device waits for a few minutes, and tells me the keyboard has failed connecting.
I have a DiNivo Edge keyboard, if it's any help
Any ideas?
Thx ^^
Maybe...
Maybe I need a specific code, or a way to make the keyoard agree to the connection.
Difficult
Try 0000 -- that's almost always the default password for BT devices.

Thank you, but I've already tried it. The keyboard behaves like a phone, making my phone waiting for the keyboard to input a password. Damn :\

Sorry this may seem stupid, but have you got the user maual for the keyboard? Or tried the manufacturers site if not? They may have a general config for it (PC and WM device association key will be the same).
Otherwise, look around the keyboard (and even in the battery compartment of the keyboard) for a four digit number to try.

No, it doesn't sound stupid Sometimes even the smartest person forgets the simpliest resolutions
But I have already tried that, except for the battery compartment. I have no idea how to open it, cause it's an internal rechargeable battery. But if there is an opening somewhere, I'll take a peek inside for a four digit number
Thanks!
Been looking ...
... everywhere on the net, but still haven't found a way to connect the keyboard :\ Anyone that has the DiNivo Edge keyboard, and could help me with this? It would be more than appreciated
Thank you!
Nothing works
I'm giving up

Don't,
I've looked up the Logitech Dinvo Edge and it looks as if it comes with a proprietory BT USB dongle for PC connection and all setup is done through an install CD (for the PC).
Do you have the CD because the 4-digit pin may be on the setup instructions. Failing that, it may be best to go to your first post on this thread and edit the title to be a bit more specific such as ' Logitech Dinvo Edge BT KB, working anyone?'
Give it a go.

Now, two months later, I am still clueless about how to get this working. Anyone having better luck than me?
I think you should enter your own passcode first on your PDA, and quickly typing the passcode on your BT KBD while PDA is waiting..
I could connect with Apple BT, Microsoft BT kbd..
I can't seem to pair my Touch Diamond with my MacBook Pro running 10.5, they can't see each other via bluetooth at all no matter which side initial the search. I wonder if there is anyone came across the same situation and have a solution or any ideas what may went wrong.
I have tried with the original stock rom and two different cooked rom, still no luck...
which sync software do you use on OS X ... i'm using "the missing sync 4.0.3" ... everything works fine
I just want to pair them with bluetooth and use PAN to use my data connection.
Any idea?
Do you want to use the data connection of your Mac? I only was able to use the data connection of my diamond via Bleutooth-PAN. The other way around seems to have an issue.
I have posted this question also to the discussion forum at apple.

About pairing both (Mac and Diamon) this works for me (MBPro OS X 10.5.4). Have you enabled the "visibility" of both devices during pairing?
Hi,
Its possible to use the Diamond as an internet modem with OSX.
I had tried to get this to work for the last couple of weeks.
It really depends on your bluetooth dongle. I had success with Cambridge Silicon based chipsets. I had a Belkin one and another generic one which didn't work.
You need to pair it from within OSX. You'll know its successful when it displays an option for joining bluetooth PAN after pairing. You'll have an option to "Join Network" under the paired device submenu in the OSX Bluetooth menu.
Once its done, all you need to do is start ICS on ur Diamond and select Bluetooth PAN, than Connect. After that, select "Join Network" on ur Mac and off you go!.
You can also connect the diamond to the USB port for power.
I tried USBModem which didnt work.
My laptop is an Acer 5570 hackintosh. Hope this helps.

Probably a stupid question but have you ticked the box on the Diamond that says "Make this device visible to other devices"?
It can be found under Communications - Settings menu - Bluetooth
and it's on the Mode tab.
I want to use my ICS via PAN, and I can't pair my Diamond with my MacBook Pro with bluetooth, they can't see each other no matter which side I initial the search and I am sure both of them have turned on the discoverable option....
I can pair my diamond with my iMac ONLY if I disable TF3D!
I use Eltima SyncMate (epert edition) to sync and it's working great.
Only if I leave TF3D on the driver on the diamond will crash.
Luckely it's quite simple to disable TF3D n a few clicks.
(Start>settings>home>unselect TF3D>[OK])
Eltima has updated their drivers.
It works now:
Syncing (folders, contacts, mail etc etc) while TF3D is running
There are a few solutions available in case you have not already solved the problem:
The free part of SyncMate works well for contacts and calendar and supports internet sharing
http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/SyncMate-Download-28111.html
I am running OS X on Dell 1525 with Bluetooth Internet sharing with HTC Diamond, and syncing contacts and calendar with SyncMate with USB Bluetooth as a matter of routine.
Hi Everyone... If you read any of my past posts, you will know I LOVE my Tilt... highyl reccomend it to anyone... My one biggest complaint is when it comes to gaming, the controls suck... I have wlays loved using my phone as a portable video games device using various emulators... All the way from my first Motorola MPX 200 .... I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to use a Wii Mote as a wireless gaming controller... Somehow connect it via bluetooth and use its buttons to control..
I have "cheated" already and done something simmilar using a Bluetooth Keyboard... Worked great, but lugging around a full sized keyboard is a bit much... I can keep a Wiimote in the car (as I already do for when I am at a friends)... The way the screen til on the phone is perfect.. So, basically I jsut need the wiimote to work like a keyboard, and use the Emulators software to map the buttons myself... Any suggestions? Would I need a driver or is there another route?? I am not worried about using the itnternal sensors or anything.. just basic up down left right a b button stuff... The "Cool" factor to get this working would over the top..
Of course, the phone is the Tilt.. I am still using the standard AT&T 6.0 Rom that came on the phone with all the usual tweaks... I use Pocket Nester to emulate the NES... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
i dont know about the wiimote but if you want to try, activate bluetooth and search for devices, press 1 and 2 on the wiimote. if it asks for a code, try 0000.
otherwise you can buy this device http://zeemote.com/
I'm not sure about winmo, but I know for desktop there are a ton of ways to use the wii-mote, both wired and wirelessly. It would be really cool to use on on the tilt, but I think we would need to create drivers first.
Dave
Hi all,
The touch screen on my Kaiser has stopped responding to any inputs. It looks like the main board may be at fault as I have replaced the complete screen and the fault is still there.
I can use the phone for nearly all functions so far with the d pad, I have been searching for a cab with a mouse mode or a rom with mouse mode included but so far have found none. Does such a cab exist for the kaiser? or is it not supported with this hardware.
Cheers
You could try MyMobiler. It puts the screen on your PC. Of course, you must be connected via ActiveSync.
Hope that helps.
Here's a program called "Fake Cursor" that lets you use the dpad as a cursor, and is configurable. It's freeware, I got it a long time ago from a Japanese site after a long time searching. I have not tried it on wm 6.1, but I think it will work. I eventually gave up on it because the dpad's original function was more practical for me, but you can try it. Just install the .cab for ARM processors. Good luck with it,
Dave
And P.S., the README file has always been like that, it's not corrupted or anything.
Thanks Dave, you are a star.
That program works a treat. Does exactly what I needed. I didn't want to pay for a new ribbon cable or worse main board in case they didn't fix the fault.
