One of the first apps I always install is 'autolock' it has a timer that will turn on the unlock pattern after a set time. Thus I get a pattern lock after 15mins rather than every time I turn on my device.
I use a hero rom and LOVE the hero lock screen. One swipe down with my finger and it is unlocked, plus it has custom wallpapers. Now I get to see Gina Carano ever time I turn on my device WOO HOO ;-)
I personally like Lock 2.0 for the customization aspect. Not really so much of a fan of the iPhone style, but if there were another lock app I could customize I'd probably use it.
there is a rotate to unlock app
Title says it all...
I would love to have this functionality back (had on my iPhone). Very handy when you want to know what is that tune that's rocking on your player without having to unlock my phone.
you can try the cubed player (^3), it has this option!

You don't know what music you have on your phone? haha just kidding
I had this on my Hero with the sense and it could be handy sometimes. but now with cm i can skip music holding the volume button works great.
I think to do this you have to change the lockscreen and use a custom one. it would be great to see one that looks like the standard lockscreen but with the music info and maybe three buttons to change music and play/pause. I want to see it with the stock music player (i just like the stock)
You can add the Music widget to your lockscreen with Flyscreen. Might want to download NoLock or myLock Auto Unlock if you're using Flyscreen as a lockscreen replacement.
I like mixzing. Covers the whole screen.
bTunes will do it too
you can also use Lock 2.0 (paid version only) in the market, but you get an iphone style lock screen. at least it kills your regular lockscreen, unlike other crappy lock replacements. it only works with default music player, but it works well. you don;t get artwork, which is a bummer. man, htc made a kickass musicplayer lock screen thingie, we all gotta admit. theres no good replacement for n1 yet.

wow, you're right! pretty impressive, considering how he did it! kinda buggy with the lockscreen, but interesting nonetheless.
I use "LockBot Pro" and i absolutely love it. try the free version out for 5 minutes to see if you like it or not. I love it because i can touch any button and it brings it out of sleep (im sure its not the only program that does this). I also love it because it has iphone like lockscreen (and desire, and others, try the paid version). Not to mention the skins are awesome because you can pick cool skins and you can add your own image as the lockscreen image. Not to mention you can add a bunch of images as your lockscreen and it picks them at random everytime you bring your phone out of sleep. Give it a shot!

the whole point of this onversation is about the now playing music info on the lockscreen, which lockbot doesn't have, so why are you suggesting it you're on the wrong forum....
mixzing media player put the app on the lock screen. super easy.
actually the stock music player on the galaxy s has this.. when scxreen is locked there is a round area with 1/2 the cd outline that you can actually pull down and control the playing song.. even without unlocking screen pretty cool.
Does anyone know how to remove "Sweep glass to unlock" text on the locking screen? I was on stock JF4 before and I dont have that now I flash JM5 and there is ugly text as I said. Can it be removed?

When I install Widget Locker, it doesn't disable the original lock screen, so now I have to unlock twice - first Widget Locker and then Samsung Locker. How did you work around it?
Don't know if it is a bug, but when you set the powerbutton action to "shutdown", the lockscreen is disabled also. Look in the code thread for the code, or download sgs info from the app forum to set the powerbutton action.

The other lockscreen does show sometimes I have noticed (such as for alarm), but ensure all security on it is turned off for things to work properly. Also, you might just need to set the options better.
I use widget locker even though it does lag a bit because I find the samsung unlock too sensitive (even in JM5)

I had the same problem.
I liked the Widget Locker, but this "bug" is so boring.
I must admit I hate the Sweep to unlock screen. I'd much rather have the stock Android lock screen.

If you set the power button to shutdown, can you still lock the screen with it?
Did anyone find a solution to turn off "Sweep glass to unlock"?
even if i manage to disable it, it comes back after a reboot
i prefer Simply Lockscreen it's clean, elegant and efficient

its a little buggy, when I press power button it first shows the default galaxy s lockscreen than the simpe lockscreen. Second the clock remains at the same hour, it changes only when I unlock the device and than lock it back, after that it freezes again, its not real time
i don't have that problem, it works for me
i just want "Sweep glass to unlock" to be completely removed
anyone know what is the name of the APK "Sweep glass to unlock" in Titanium Backup?
I'll try out simply lock, I like widget locker because earlier I had a bunch of widgets and apps on it that I'd be most likely to call up when unlocking (maps, internet, power control, weather widget.)
Now, with LauncherPro's gesture shortcuts I have blank homescreens and just dock icons with a dual functions since I use a gesture on them. Now, I've cleaned out widget locker to look at my beautiful background. Meanwhile, I can get to my homescreen by pressing home, back and/or having a lock icon (vanilla, widgetlocker, sense, and I think 2 other options).
Definitely liking this look to my phone more than all the others I have tried. I even use a bit of livewallpapers for the first time, doesn't hurt my battery life too much as long as they allow my phone to sleep (I've noticed one that wouldn't so I keep my eye open for battery drain when I wake my phone after the screen is off).
i use live VR wallpaper and or the Mario live wallpaer
those 2 are fun
the rest are okay but boring, i tried matrix, nexus, all the ones that came with the phone, etc.
still waiting for some more interesting ones to pop up in the horizon, something more interactive
I enabled the standard unlock pattern under settings-location and security
I much prefer it to the sweep glass.

There's a great little app called 'No lock'.
Search for 'No lock' on the app market.(Its a free app. Also has handy widget)
i tried no lock again, but it doesn't work
"Sweep glass to unlock" will still show up after reboot
no lock is just another lock screen
same problem here, i don't like "like sweep to unlock" either
do u guys have any solution yet ?

I assume you've seen aCircuit Board? Isn't too bad, paid apps weren't available when it came out but I'll probably get it soon. I actually want to get the free one that works with beautiful widgets (haven't bought beautiful widgets because every has been saying its been broken from an update, but when they fix it I'll probably be all over both).
I definitely like the ones that use the accelerometer/motion sensors like the VR paper. I saw one with Android Andy's falling, but it looked a bit too cartoonish for me.
I found Ocean Waves to be quite interactive and nice enough, but it was the one that I've isolated to giving my phone sleep issues so I wont be using it.

Yeah, I agree, I was using that until I got widgetlocker because I found myself having much less "re-dos" on unlock attempts. Now, I just hit a softkey and I'm to my home screen or if you want you can have a slide to unlock that I find more intuitive and accurate than sweep glass.

Funny how it works great for me.
After the screen times out,no matter how long I wait.. when I press the home key the screen lights up again without the need to sweep. Even after rebooting it works,no need to activate it again.
Awesome.

You have to launch No Lock and tap the icon in the middle to active it.
I tried this app out, and it is really cool.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free
Being able to pull the thing anywhere to unlock is nice
But the nicest thing is having the ability to pull 1of4 apps into the center and it unlocks to that app(def awesome for the camera)
However...here's the issue. It's an app, that means it needs to always run(memory/battery hog) and, my AOSP Lockscreen starts first, i unlock that then the Ripple Lock comes up.
Or...pretty much any lockscreen that has the ability to unlock to a specific app would be awesome
Does anyone think they would be able to make a mod to turn RippleLock(or similar) into the default main lock screen, not an app??
ok.... this thread seems a little bit dead...
Never mind, but let me tell you that I like your idea, unfortunately I am not able to this so but it sure would be great if someone really did look into this
Here is how I got it to work.
1. Stop ripple lock.
2. Disable stock lock screen with "No Lock" from the market and reboot phone.
3. Start ripple lock.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the great lock screen
"Home-Less and Iconic"
Thanks guys! I've been looking for something like this.
VS910
RevoltRom1.4
Thanks guys, this app is really cool. Also, ripple lock 2.5.5 has a "fix double lock issue" setting. Haven't tried it yet cause I already downloaded and am using the No Lock app that K0G suggested. When I'm out of class I'll uninstall No Lock and try that function.
Hey XDA'ers,
I just picked up my N6 a few days ago.. I've been on Nexus devices after I gave up on the Galaxy S3. Never looked back! (Except for my CM12 LG G3 )
So here is my question to you all. Has anyone created or integrated app/code that once your face is recognized, unlock to home screen without a swipe? I was comparing the iOS finger unlock with my fam this weekend and it would be nice not to swipe up even though your face has been recognized.
If its not implemented, I can donate some money for someone to create something like that if plausible. Maybe a bounty if others are interested.
Thanks for taking a look!
Is that not the default behavior when you select face unlock as your security? I haven't used it in a little while however I am sure that is how it works. Turn on phone, look at it, boom home screen.

Nope. I use face unlock right now. Once it recognizes your face, it allows you to swipe up. It didn't automatically unlock.
Couldn't this pose a risk of unlocking when unintended? Perhaps you just want to see notifications on the lock screen quickly and see if you actually want to unlock and act? Or what about changing the track in the lock screen music player?

I see your point, however if someone were to make an app or bake it into a ROM, there could be a "hold off for __ seconds" before it checks for a face and goes to home screen. For instance, you could make it zero if you want immediate unlock, 10 seconds to check notifications. And if you didn't want to unlock and just check notifications, you would just hit the icon so it stays locked until you swipe up at that point (how it is with 5.0 at the moment.

Then I would be too impatient when I want to skip the lock screen and just swipe anyway - defeating the purpose. Swipe is faster than wait 10 seconds to auto-unlock.

Again, its only for users who want to utilize that "feature". I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who cares about this haha.

Similar thought: I'd like to have no lock screen at all when smart lock unlocks the phone with trusted device/location as well.

I think it just makes sense! If you don't want it, simply deactivate the feature, right? I'm starting my developing classes later thus summer. Maybe I'll be able to cook something up if nothing shows up by then haha.
Thanks for your interest guys, but it looks like not many are interested :/
+1 definitely would love someone to fix this
Bump because I want this, I can't figure how to do something like this with tasker.
What I want:
Condition: Lockscreen locked with pattern, trusted face enabled and triggered.
Scenarios:
1. Notifications present? Remove pattern but allow me to swipe to unlock when I'm ready. (Current behaviour)
2. No notifications? Go straight to homescreen without any interaction as soon as my face is detected. (New behaviour)

I've been trying every combination of tasker and secure settings I can think of, but there's no way I can detect when smart lock is triggered with the built-in settings.
http://nelenkov.blogspot.com/2014/12/dissecting-lollipops-smart-lock.html
I read that, and there seems to be a per-user trusted flag that's edited by smart lock, if tasker somehow could read it, we could trigger actions with it.
There problem is I don't know where the flag is or how to read it, I'm a bit out of my league here, maybe you are more knowledgable in this matter.
Take a look at the Stock LG G2/3/4 ROMs, this is their default Face Unlock behavior. I came from the G2 and am having withdrawals, partially because of this feature.
