Asia & UK Rom's

Hi All,
I am kinda new to flashing of my rom. In fact, never done it before.
But, well i wanna meddle with it. I would like to know what is the difference
btwn the UK & the asia rom. I have got my set in singapore. How do i going
about backing up my rom ? Kindly appreciate some assistance on starting the flash.

well, i have been reading thru this site since i submitted the post. It seems kinda straight formward to do the rom upgrade. But, i cant find a way to backup my rom and stuff. It says that OSImageTool does it on the PPC 2002 and PPC 2003 but, not on PPC2003SE. Any suggestions ? Maybe i aint looking in the right direction ?

You can do them all at once. Other than that, it really doesn't matter.

how do i backup my current rom?

Here is a link that tells you how to backup you're ROM in case you want to downgrade beware this only backsup the ROM and not files or software you installed.

You can use XBackup in the programs to backup contacts software etc, however you can not restore to a different ROM version.

Help With Rom Plz...

Hi Guys .. I just tried the superrom by ppctuning.org
installation all went fine , except the startup screen, all other features are missing.
Now i tried installing Farias 3.3 ROM, but in that too the features are missing. Can any one plz help as to why the features stated are not installing..
In both the ROM's i get a normal WM5(factory default) installed.

Sounds like you have not CID unlocked your phone before flashing the new ROM. See here for the best unlocking advice for G3 Wizards.

Need a dump for htc pro

Hello i would like to know if we have any program for back up my original rom and then do and update to a different ROM and if do not work or its unstable i can put the old rom back. Could anyone Help me.

ok i new here
i had my X1 2days ago & its my first PPC
i have been reading all over the places about "Manilla 2D and TF3D"
and TF3D-2 & TF3D 2.5 & Diamond something!!!
after all i knew how to install it but i didnt get what is it?
is it just a new interface or like new softwear to the X1 or what?
however im using WM6.1 eng
so can i get some help about it???

It's in fact a today plugin that was created by HTC for its phones to improve the user interface. It's more or less fingerfriendly and gives you access to various functions/ applications right from the home screen. So far it has been ported to almost any WM device out there, X1 included.

Flash" = copy a file into the device read-only memory (ROM)

Currently the xperiax1 rom section has many wm 6.5 roms with sense 2.5 201X most are very fast although i recommend the 826x version. So this solves 1) & 2) quickly. Flashing is either using a memory stick or computer method, and i recommend u to make a backup of ur stock rom just in case.

Generally there are two ways to acquire Touchflo 3d/ Manila (or the current version which is callded Sense). You either flash a rom that contains it or you install it by using the corresponding .cab file. Flashing a custom rom containing Sense seems to be the better way what concerns performance but I have to admit I'm no expert (personally I don't like and therefore use it).

i'm new to this forum and I like it a lot,
some many files and informations that are useful...
I already have touchflo 3d on my xperia, but now I'd like to flash a new rom.
Now my questions
1) when I do hard spl, do i have to connect the phone in tri.color screen or normal
2) how do i exit the tri color screen, did that by doing soft reset, any other possibility ??
3) Which 6.5 sense rom ??? I'm german so i'd liked to have a fast and stable rom which should be in german . I only would use a english rom if the difference is big
4)Equal which radio I have or do I have to upgrade it too
5) can i use all the programmes i downloaded so far for my xperia with stock rom??

1. follow instructions provided with hard spl program.
2. soft reset the phone or take out the battery.
3. depends on what you want in the rom, every rom has its pros and cons you need to experiment to find the one you like. Not everyone does german language rom, there is no real difference except language and what is included. Most roms are very similiar as chefs use standard packages with their own tweaks.
4. you should keep the radio that comes with the stock rom if it works in your part of the country without problems.
5. yes, you can use all the programs you have downloaded, depending on the rom you may have to download a framework program to get the best usage out of your program.

I'm now between x826 rom and xkans rom
could someone compare them and tell me whether xkans rom is as fast as x826 rom (i read that its one of the fastest and bugless roms)

i want to get rid of the qwerty keyboard, I just downloaded PM reg editor but I cant find hklm/harware... to set CurrLan to german
could someone post a link to an regeditor which is easy
again a question can I use the xperia tweak v2 on 826x rm .?

can anyone tell me how i can enable sim contacts to be in my contact list, xperia tweak doesnt work on 826x

i dont now what to do,
my phone is stuck into flashing , the bar is nearly at the end but now its showing update in progress since half an hour,
my first flash ysterday only took 5 min.
plz help !!

It's difficult to help as you didn't mention current and new ROM versions...
Maybe a task29 will help (search the forum for the corresponding thread).

I finally got it working agaun over usb, so I'm happy again.
But thx for trying to help me...
