What's the best way to clean the trackball? mine is really stiff and slippery.
I guess the best way would have to be just wipe it was a wet paper towel or something, I don't think there's an easy way to take out your trackball like on blackberries.

You actually put your entire phone in a glass of beer? For a half hour? On purpose? And the phone did not get ruined? I would call that extremely lucky.

Mighty Mouse FTW!
I would assume that the same method used to clean Mighty Mice would apply here.
1) Get a clean sheet of paper.
2) Vigorously, rub the trackball back and forth over the paper.
3) Rub some alcohol on the ball with your finger and repeat.
4) Evidence of cleaning should be on the paper.
Hope that helps.

You know that plastic thingie you need to open if you want to charge your phone? I had HTC S610 before and you had to open backside, remove batter and there was that little hole in which that plastic was secured.
I couldn't find anything like that on my G1. Now i bought a docking station for phone and cant put the phone on it because of that plastic thing.
And i don't want to just cut it from the phone. I think i would break my own heart with that.
Help?
Mine actually broke off at one point and all I had left was the little peice that connects to the phone. all I did was slowly pull that sucker out and it came out easily.

your can fix your phone a fancy home cooked meal, put out the good table spread, use candle light to eat your meal, then when just you and your g1 get in the bed, violently rape it with some scissors or toenail clippers or any other instrument of cutting.
If you don't want to do that then google the htc guide to disassemble your phone. it may be in there.
I ripped myne off was tired of opening and closing it. But the SD cover one fell off 3 days after i leave the Army... go figure
Mine broke off and the stem fell back into the phone. It's like it was never there. Why in the hell are you even considereing disassembling your phone just for that? You're gonna break something important. Scissors, man. Scissors.
I say do it the old fashion way, just yank it off

I have it. Its kinda bad, and good at the same time. When I washed up in the morning, I must vacuum our it bothers me.
When I am in the car, if there is too many drinks/bottles, I have to throw them away.
When I am at my desk, everything has to be straight and minimal stuff on it. Maybe like a water bottle and a cable, but that's pushing it.
Even my desktop (computer) is clean all I have on my desktop is the recycle bin and whatever projects I am working on.

Same Here I dont even use a screen protector I just treat it well
I've always had a minimal OCD attitude, but ARMY Basic Training sure as hell fixed that.. due to everything having to be 10,000% organized...
Now, when it comes to home, I usually only go OCD on the rooms I access the most (except for my desk area)... Living Room, Kitchen, Office, and my Bedroom.
BUT :: When it comes to my phone(s)... I'm very OCD... possibly too much. I buy new screen protectors for each device atleast twice a month, I despise smudges, so I RARELY actually touch my screen with my fingers. And even when I'm holding my main phone, I always have a cleaning cloth between my palm and the phone. It's actually quite sad.
I am also OCD with my my phone too. Every time I see a smudge on it, I wipe it, right away. I also own about 10+ microfiber clothes for my computer, phone, and iPad.
Once I get done eating, I don't touch my phone, I must clean my hands before I even take it out my pocket.
Whenever my friends ask to see my phone, I ask if there hands are greasy/dirty. I rarely give it to them because of fear they might break it.
When I had my iPhone, I had 4 cases because none of them were good enough to protect.
I am also going to order a tough case from Case-Mate, since my barely there isn't protecting much.
I ordered some Realooks when I first got my phone, since I didn't want to scratch them phone.
That's my story of OCDness. yay

hey, i was wondering if any one was successful in removing their engravings off the back of the nexus one..... i bought mine cheap second hand, but i can't seem to get the engravings off... thanks!
Maybe if you look up in the dictionary of what "engrave" means you'll find your answer. Then again is it possible to un-grave something? Put a cute little sticker over it or something.
Die grinder.
plastic filler
superfine sandpaper
paint
cover engravings with the filler
let it dry
sand down the filler until it's flush with the rest of the phone
wipe off with a wet rag (let dry after)
paint
depending on your painting skills you can make it look halfway decent. You won't make it like new though. The only way to make it not like terrible would be to paint the entire part of the phone where it is engraved. Since the engravings are on the chrome, looks like a whole body job to me.
Good Luck
Update:
Also, seriously you can't google? You do own their phone...

anyone else who was able to remove the personalized lettering on the back of the N1?
19.95$ back cover on ebay (real one)
The engraving isn't on the back cover, it's on the metal chassis.
Can you not buy a replacement chassis?
Sure you can, but they're not cheap, and I suspect it's a fair bit of work to swap the parts over.
First, it is important to note that the "engraving" is NOT actually engraved in, as some people here seem to believe.
It is merely silk-screened on.
As for removing it, I would suggest a mild abrasive, like tooth paste, and rubbing it with a cotton cloth... it will probably take a lot of elbow grease, but it should work!*
*Note: not responsible if you damage your phone or kill your loved ones with this method.

can't say its silkscreen for sure. i took a look under the microscope and its retains the same texture as the rest of the aluminum... silkscreened letterings SHOULD have a different, smooth texture.

i think i may actually do this in the end. i was suggested to use "contact cleaner" as it deoxides materials... but thats precisely what anodized aluminum is... a thicker layer of colored aluminum oxide. it may just strip it all down to the bare aluminum... argh thinking out loud.
I have heard from someone who have tried the same thing known as Contact Cleaner. Haven't tried personally so can't say for certain but hey, what's the harm in trying it out? I don't have any personalization otherwise would have tried it out.

Please don't do this.
just sand down the aluminum until it is flush with the rest of it, then use different grades of paper until it is smooth
I don't exactly know how close to perfect you can make it, but it's better then sandblasting it.

But I don't want to resort to warranty since I have already been using it for a month plus, and got stuff working and all.

Wow how did you managed to get the glue inside the gap? I mean I know it's quite a gap, but I don't think it's THAT wide to be able to squueze glue in..
Are the gaps really that much of a concern? I have a bit of a gap on the top speaker grill, but I have a case on the phone too. I don't even notice it now. I'm more concerned about the durability of "Gorilla Glass." I've had 3 iPhones now and I've never scratched my screen. I've owned the HTC One for a month and I've got two scratches already...

So what's the best way to clean my Droid Turbo? I need to start doing this on a regular basis, too many germs out there. Is it safe to wipe off the screen/phone with an alcohol wipe? I know the device has a water resistant nano coating so I'd think this would be OK. Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Probably not the best way; as this will wear off the olephobic coating..
1. Dilute a drop of handwash in a mug of water
2. Use some of that highly diluted solution to clean screen by gently massaging it
3. Use tissue paper or news paper to soak most of the liquid from screen
4. Finish with microfiber clothe
