i was running sensehero 1.4, i decided to try out wesgarner's beta WGBuild9 for him. it booted and all, there were some bugs. i replied to his thread and then restored my nandroid from before hand. it just sat at the initial boot logo, not either of the animations, the carrier one. i waited quit a while and then pulled the battery. tried a wipe and reboot, no dice. tried fastboot erasing system, data then reflash, still sits at boot logo. no i am watching the logo while waiting to see if a different rom (cyans latest stable) will boot.. any ideas? recovery and fastboot still work fine.

If you can get into bootloader, or recovery, you're not completely bricked.

u r not bricked if u can get into recovery and fastboot, just perform your nandroid restore, wipe and u should b good, u might have to pull the sd card and reboot without it
Since you have so many posts I'm surprised you would post in the wrong forum. Anyway since your coming from a hero rom you need to follow these instructions http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Main_Page#How_do_I_upgrade_to_the_latest_CyanogenMod.3F and that includes doing this line "Download the Android 1.6 Recovery Image (it has "-ota-" in the filename): ". Even if you have done it before you must do it again.

What does post have to do with anything?
There were some issues with nandroid that were fixed in the new version, but you must wipe before installing the backup since the ext is also backed up.

You should have wiped and what method did you do to install the wesenger rom?
If you didn't flash the 1.6 recovery image then that's your problem. It's not the same thing as RA's or Cyan's so your not overwriting those recovery images. You must flash it first then the rom all without rebooting.
I've been getting these problems a lot lately for whatever reason. Anyways, I fixed it every time by wiping, then flashing the official HTC 1.6 OTA update zip. You'll probably have to dig a bit for it, since the links appear dead on the HTC support site. From there, you can flash a custom ROM no problem.

....Thats only for cyanogen bacause of the cease and desist order..Wesengarner and dwang didnt recieve that from google...They have all google apps already, cyan cant include them in his rom only...

i flashed it as an update, no wipe. he requests no wipes in the thread for the beta.

He means no wipe from previous ver of his rom..Not a hero rom.
oh i'm trying the coming from a different rooted rom instructions for cyan, i will see how it goes in a minute

Cyan rom installation only refers to his for wesengarner just do this..

oh i know, i am moving to cyan. i was only using WG for test purposes for his beta. it booted into cyans latest now. jeeze that was scary thanks everyone for your help, sorry i posted in the wrong place

When you search, there IS an option to give results as either threads or individual posts. I suggest taking a couple minutes just to play around with the advanced search screen... it's surprisingly powerful, but most noobs don't use it. The little drop down Search is useless in comparison.
Umm, i have a tiny problem
after flashing a rom (cyan 5.0.5.2), the nexus doesnt boot anymore
before this i had flashed the recovery 1.7.0.
adb devices does not see it, so i cannot reflash another recovery. fastboot sees it, but gives an error about multiple links, so it cannot flash
its stuck at the big 4-color X
i can enter the recovery, wipe/flash anything, but it still wont boot, no matter what rom i flash

I had the same problem with C 5.0.5.1
I flash back C 5.0.5., (wipe everything before). then the phone boot OK.
Then I flash C 5.0.5.1 and is OK now.

Are you guys even flashing Gapps?
I think i noticed this coming from a wipe as well.
You must wipe, Flash CyanMod, Flash Gapps.
I originally forgot Gapps, and got stuck, and then upon flashing it booted up fine.

nah, this is more of a q/a topic Plus those who poke around in this forum are those willing to help. Always a good idea to post questions/problem threads in the q/a.
my sister's tab freezes this morning with no response, I restarted it manually but it started to give me many Force Close errors. I thought the factory reset will fix it but nothing happens I tried everything.
wiping the data, doing factory reset and flashing the stock firmware, it says that the format is successful but it won't delete or format any thing from the tab it always gives me the same errors, and it boots again to the old firmware.
Please help me everything I do is like I'm doing nothing it refuses to delete or format anything.

which firmware is the tab ? is it rooted ? You might need to reinstall a new ROM. I suggest Overcome ROM. http://www.teamovercome.net. There is a detailed guide on how to install their latest ROM called "Kratos".
Or just go to the development section of this forum and search "Kratos".

it's 2.3.3, and no it's not rooted, i'll try it but why it refuses to do any format ?
Edit: Factory resetting through recovery mode, settings, flashing a new rom, etc don't work and pretty much every app crashes as soon as the tab boots
Are you able to go to Download mode ?
Just go here and follow the instructions. it will work.

yes i'm able to go to Download mode, but the custom firmware didn't work it and every app crashes as soon as the tab boots

Did you try to install Kratos as described in the overcome thread ? (Choose the wipe version)
Are you sure you are following to the letter all the instructions from the guide ?
I don't see why it won't work man.

I can't even delete anything from the gallery or any file after reboot all the deleted files come back again, i tried to delete from the computer but they appear again like i didn't do anything.

Man !!! it has nothing to do with deleting stuff from the galery. I'm suggesting to you to start from scratch. The Wipe version of Overcome Kratos will get you a brand new fresh ROM.
Just read the links I provided you and follow the guide dude.

I tried but i cant remove or put any thing in the internal memory, if i delete anything after the unmount they all come back again, same as if i put anything on it after the unmount its not there.
can you connect to the internet with your tab?
Try downloading the Wipe version of Overcome Kratos using your tablet, and then start from scratch.

Dont put anything on the internal memory.
Go and READ teh guide that comes with overcome rom. Put the rom on EXTERNAL MEMORY!!!!!

Guys I really appreciate your answers but believe me it didn't work I'm stuck at 9 and my device won't boot up tried to proceed and wipe the data it always give me this error "error mounting /emmc/android" and it didn't wipe anything, it's like the system and the internal memory are protected or read only I don't know even the system it self all the applications and the settings won't format or delete I tried everything, the code, factory reset all gives me done and successful but after reboot everything still as it is.

every thing went fine but after the booting i get so many force closes then I end up with the old firmware with all the Apps and the settings, believe me every firmware I flash goes without any errors but when I load up the system everything is the same even her wallpaper. I know it's weird but Please I really need help !
EDIT : I tried to flash Froyo back the flash process went fine but after boot i got the same Force Close errors with my settings and my applications the same but the system is Froyo.
What I want to say that it successfully flashed the firmware but there is something prevent it from format or wipe the data and the internal memory.
I hope you find a solution.
Something is not clear to me here. Is the situation you describe above happens right after the GB stock-safe is flashed ? Or when Kratos is installed?
Another thing: Make sure partition is checked when flashing the pit file.
Other than this. I suggest to post your problem in the Overcome Kratos Development section with all the steps taken and I'm sure some Devs will help you out fast.

and now i am trying to go back to an older restore and it will not let me ..
I wiped and then did restore of older nandroid (runny or shooter sense).. and did reboot .. then MIUI united worldwide boot animation comes back up again.. and again and again.. and the seems to be stuck on that MIUI boot animation .. i cant seem to flash one of my old restores.. ???
ok i did a wipe again and installed from zip.. i think i might have solved it ..
just wipe and start over again...also this doesnt belong in dev.

Make sure you're wiping everything including in the mount section (EXCEPT SD CARD) then restore

This happened to me a lot on my old Desire HD. Have you tried re-flashing the rom or trying a different one? Also did you clean flash?

I can't access the recovery mode to re-flash the rom or try another one.
What exactly do you mean by "clean flash" ? I'm quite a nweebie with HTC and english is not my usual language ^^

Ah okay. I would then flash a custom recovery. You can access the bootloader correct? What method did you use to install the rom? Clean flash or wipe is when you erase all the phone's system files, leaving a blank slate for a new rom to be installed on, and should be done before installing a brand new rom to avoid any issues.

This is the link to the recovery image I used, it's the latest clockwordmod touch recovery. Very easy to flash as long as you have fast boot setup correctly. Once you have a working recovery you should be able to try a re-flash.

Well I entered Recovery mode through Rom Manager[/URL]clokworkmod () then used "install zip from sdcard".
I chose to keep my old data and don't make a factory reset.

Was the recovery still stock or was a custom one flashed? Which process did you follow to root the phone? Since you can't access the recovery at the moment is suggesting it is stock. A failed rom install shouldn't corrupt recovery

I remember I've unlocked the bootloader.
I used the method described on this french website : phonandroid.com/tutoriel-comment-rooter-son-htc-one.html
On the bootloader now, i can do a factory reset. Can it be a solution ? will it or not delete the root ?

I'm not sure, since you have tried to flash another rom, a factory reset might not solve the issue. Trying shouldn't brick the phone but I can't say for sure, sorry!
The method looks similar to the one I used. Could you try following from step 6? but using a different recovery.img. I used the clockwokmod touch from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863

Nice! Glad you have working recovery. Yes I would reinstall the rom now, and I would recommend that you wipe the system files, (except SD Card partition of course) to reduce the chance of boot loops etc

Could you send me a link to the rom you flashed? Try downloading a different rom. As you can't boot a ROM your only option may be to use ADB to push a new ROM onto your phone's storage.

It may have been a bad download. There isn't really any reason for it to not work, although it does say on the page it "You need TRWP 2.6.3.3 custom recovery!"
Not to worry, you can flash it in no-time. Ok so just as before, just flash a new recovery (again) and use the latest image from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7/
This should allow you to install the rom as the developers intend. It is strange though, i've never encountered a rom where a specific recovery was needed.

It should definitely work this time! I've actually just flashed TWRP recovery, and I can already say I prefer it over ClockWorkMod!
