stuck on striped screen

was upgrading to wizard..completed the flash
but now ive to hardreset
but its not doing that
it either goes into serial screen or striped with version number written
tried everything!
Try to press Reset and at the same time peress Camer & Record bottons. Keep pressing the Camera & Record for a few seconds till you see 3 selections. Change the Second and the Third to "YES"and leave the first to "NO". Move down with Camera botton and change NO to YES by Record Botton. The prest reset again.
If this doesn't work. Press Power, Camera and Rest all at the same time. You will see the sreen dimmed and reads "SERIAL ......". Put the phone on the cradle. Restart Flushing the ROM.

blackberry connect install problem / reboot frozen screen

I've searched the forums, and can't find a report of anything similar...so this might be new...if it isn't, help locating a thread would be great.
- Downloaded Blackberry connect install cab
- Seems to install fine (log looked good before reboot)
- Press "ok" to reboot device, but upon reboot, the device screen is locked at the Windows Mobile screen
The unit seems to be operating fine... I can receive calls - the phone rings, the caller ID pops up, but it stays on top of the Windows Mobile boot screen...
The power button will not shut the unit off...only turns the locked screen on and off
Battery removal and reboot freezes at same spot.
I had deselected all the ActiveSync options including the 'connect via USB' option... and now can't view my device from my laptop...
I've had the TILT only a couple of days...I'm running the stock ATT Tilt ROM & software...added two themes (night palms and the planet reflection ones)... have a 6G microSD card with some songs, pictures, and a device backup...
Looking forward to your suggestions & solutions!!
I tried it on mine and it did the same. So I gave up and did the hard reset and started over without even attempting to install the bb connect.
after hard reset
thanks for the quick response...
the hard reset worked fine...
I repeated the bbconnect setup, this time installing to the device instead of to my card... everything worked fine.
How did you do a hard reset on it?
hard reset
a hard reset will wipe all your data and set it everything back to the default status...it isn't supposed to clear anything on your sd card ... i take mine out anyway.
to do a hard reset, hold both the soft buttons while pressing the reset button w/ the stylus (the reset button is on the bottom edge under the hard OK button )

One thing the instruction did not say rright was to hold the two soft keys and then press the reset then release and wait for the screen to give the instructions. Well the real way is to hold all 3 and wait and the process will be on its way.

this is just not working for me, how long are you pressing the stylus in? how long are you holding the buttons?
When I do it I get the AT&T logo screen (a short vibrate) then it continues to the windows mobile boot screen. I can never get the prompt to erase all data. I've tried the procedure a dozen times, no luck.
Make sure you are pressing the soft buttons and not the 'call' and 'end call' buttons as stated on some sites. Hold those and press stylus into reset until it turns off. Continue holding the buttons until the message comes up.
I've just had to do this for exactly the same reason!
I had the same problem on my Touch. After the hard reset I have found a solution: install application to device memory not on storage card. That helped me and now BB Connect is working fine.

WM6 stuck in password mode

Installed WM6.1 CEOS 20262.Build 19949 Aku1.2 on to my pda2k.
Was wrapped with results, was able to use my supertooth handsfree again etc until today.
Went to use it today and it was stuck in the password screen. It would not accept the password I had set earlier and will not accept a hard reset.
Any Suggestions
Regards Craig
Looks like i found it.

Stuck in password mode
I have the same problem with mine. The link that you pasted is not working, how do i resolve this problem.
Do a hard reset - stylus Reset and power button
Before the rom info comes up at the bottom of the screen press camera and record together.
This will come up with the boot selections at top of screen
Use the camera button to scroll and the record button to change set the options from top to bottom
No
Yes
Yes
then press the email button to accept.
Let WM 6 load.
Calibrate screen.
skip the password and email selections
Wait for everything to finish setting up
Then go into settings and set password from the key option.
Hope this helps
Changed over to Rom
ROM WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.20226 (Build 20226.1.3.0 PV DVH)
Which I found better suited my needs and am back to the same password problem again. Seems not to like being connected to the computer.
As soon as I cradle it the computer asks me to unlock and back to incorrect password.
Something must be overwriting the password entry.
hey mate i had this exact same problem, to get it to connect with the oc when it is passworded do this
press and hold the power button then while still pressing the power button press and hold the top left side button, then while still holding these in poke the reset hole. it will go into serial mode. now dock it with the pc and flash a wm2003 rom, after thats done flash a 6.1 rom at will. worked for me!

Startup problem

Hey, Just recently I tried to change my windows mobile theme, just the color of the title bars. I do have the kaiser tweak and HTC 5 button homepage thingy. The title bars didn't change right away so I turned the device off and on. Yet when i turned it back on, it freezes on the ATT startup page and displays the three different numbers on the bottom corner, i think they're some kind of IP or radio. Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong with my phone? I'ved tried taking the sim card and battery out for awhile and attempted to do a hard reset with the two soft keys and reset button, but nothing happens when I hold the buttons. Any help would be great, I need to use my phone!

I'm really surprised that a hard-reset did not restore you to OEM settings...
WHEN you get restored to where you want it... Try: http://rapidshare.com/files/68506785/UI_TWEAK.ZIP
It works awesomely!
It even catalogs all .tsk files and U can export as well.
Best of luck!

just an FYI:
HTC Kaiser - TyTn II - T-Mobile Vario III
A software option is also available. Start> Settings> System> Clear Storage.
Type 1234 in the box and tap YES.
===> OR <===
Press and hold the Left & Right SOFT KEYs and at the same time use the stylus to press the RESET button. Release the stylus but keep pressing the SOFT KEYS until you see the Hard Reset warning screen. Release the SOFT KEYS and then press the LEFT PHONE KEY.

Just to be clear, the soft keys are those two above the keyboard when the device is slid open....? right? Also should the device be powered on when I do this? How long to I have to hold down the buttons? Thanks for all the help!
Thanks I was able to do the hard reset, I didnt know the correct soft keys.

Diamond freezes upon startup - No Sync Connection

Hi there,
i recently flashed this Rom: /ROM\WM6.5|23017&23060|Benko's 4.9ROM's|NEW| Full, Prime&Clean[Manila2.1 R1.5/16.10]
and everything was working fine. Then i installed some program (SPB Diary). And since then my Diamond keeps on freezing up upon startup. It shows the Notifications Windows (Network provider, Battery status, "No new notifications" and the "close" button at the bottom).
But then he wont react to anything. He doesnt establish a connection to my computer, so i cant flash a new rom on my device either.
Im totally lost, can someone help me?

you will have to hard reset, when u switch ur diamond on, hold volume down, the big round button and hit the red reset button under the stylus, do this while windows is booting b4 it freezes..... i had a simlar problem with spb mobile shell ageees ago lol
I tried then, then i see the 3 colored screen, then it says "No Image File" on a grey screen, then it says "trigger usb host" and "retry entry usb" (does the a few times), then it goes back to the 3 colored screen after a while of waiting, and it says "USB" in the center.
But thats it, problem still there
Any idea?
no if that appears your holding the back button not the round centre button
Thank you so much for your help, i though hard reset was hard reset either way, didnt know that there was a difference between which of the buttons (back, hang up, center) to press.
My Diamond is up an running again, Thanks for the help!
BTW: What exactly are the different modes of hard resetting for? Is there a manual somewhere?

The method you described is for flashing a rom from your internal storage... Next time you download a rom, take the .nbh file and change its name to DIAMIMG.nbh, Then copy it to the root of the internal storage, if you then hold vol down, the back button and press the red reset button, you can flash the rom without using a ruu, this way is also alot faster then the old method
