i guess he just wants to be sure he can go back to old ROM if he doesnt like the new one

This is a good read:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=44403
You can always contact toyour "support contact" for the old ROMs if you aren't happy with the upgrade. But I see no specific reason why a official stable ROM upgrade wont satisfy your mobile/PDA needs.
hey it is just the new upgrade i did
is draining too much of battery from my mda
dont know why
but i will give it like a couple of days and if it keeps on doing that then i will be goin back to the old rom
coz after all a phone has to be a phone and can not be on a charger all the time
Discuss about the HTC touch diamond P3490 released for India.
-Its a 2G version No Video calling/secondary camera and HSDPA
-Released with a new high capacity battery
-Still SIM locked to Airtel
-Comes with a lifetime GPS service from Satnav for an amount of INR.300
I tried a google search on xda-developers, however, couldnt find much of details about this phone. Could we make this a discussion area for Diamond users in India?
PS: MODS, am not sure about the location about this post. Please advice before closing/locking this thread.
I took this mobile from Bangalore and the sales person told me that it is not SIM locked. However, when the phone was switched on, AIRTEL logo came on, and found that it is SIM locked. I managed to get my Vodafone SIM to run on this cell.. But when i tried to use the Vodafone live!, it never connected.
I saw a post in this forum about installing a cab file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400939&highlight=vodafone
Tried installing it, but it didn't connect. a Google search provided me with some config settings. which worked absolutely fine for me.
Herez the config:
select "start" ---->>> select "settings" ------->> select "connection"----->>> select "connections"
Now Select "Add a new modem connection"
Connection name::"Give any name"
Moden:: select "Cellular line (gprs)"
Select "Next"
Access point name:: "portalnmms"
select "Next"
Username:: (blank)
Password:: (blank)
Domain:: (blank)
Select "Finish"
Now Select "Setup/Edit my proxy server" below that "Add a new modem connection"
Select the two check boxes
1.) This network connects to the internet
2.) This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
Now you ll have proxy server box below that you will have "advanced"
Select "advanced"
Select "HTTP" --->> Server:: "10.10.1.100" port:: "9401" select "ok"
Select "Wap" ---->> Server:: "10.10.1.100" port:: "9201" select "ok"
Give ok to all options.
Now select "start" select "internet explorer" and try it for the connection...
When internet is connecting it ll show "Connecting to GPRS"
You ll be getting "locating" and "opening" and the webpage
.... and one more thing.... (am editing this after 3 days, after i experienced this issue)
You may connect your diamond to the PC via ActiveSync, try to download the QuickGPS data, it might say "Cant connect".
- All you need to do is to open Internet explorer, browse to htc website, close Internet explorer, and then try to update quickgps. It should work.
Cheers

Did u find any ROM upgrades (Unofficial) for the indian version? I heard that upgrading with a generic English ROM would disable the radio.
ROM Update
1. follow the link for the latest official ROM Update
ROM version: 1.93.720.4
Radio version: 1.13.25.24

Hi Guys,
Even I have the Indian version of Diamond. It was airtel locked with the airtel splash screen coming up everytime you boot. But changed the rom to NLMs rom of 6.5 and the airtel screen is gone.

Hi Kailash, i think this is an offer which they started with the new release of touch diamond (newer one comes in cube shaped packaging, older one had that diamond package).
See the attached image, which i took from my box. Its says "For HTC JAINA customers", and Jaina seems to be a marketing team for who imports/distributes electronic gadgets in India.
nd, the spalsh screen is just a 480x640 gif image in the windows folder. A registry edit would take care of it.

Thnx for the info... is there any cooked ROMs available for Indian diamond version. Indian radio is different from the US/europe ones, coz most of them are 3G enabled, so i heard that if you use one of those customized roms, radio would stop working, meaning you wont be able to make GSM calls too..
did you try any 3rd part ROMs. please let me know.. thnx

That's a nice try . hopefully ur friend is not reading this post. BTW, it seems like if you change your default SPL and install HARDSPL, your fone wouldnt get bricked, even if its a bad flash (Please read about HARDSPL before you try it... cant stand to see diamonds getting bricked )

Try catching up someone in Jaina and ask them whether u can avail this offer, if u present the bill (they are into marketing.. so, u can try ur luck). u can get the phone numbers from their website. (am not trying to be funny, it might not work, but whatif ur time is good, and u get some nice offer!!!)
yeah, once your do a SIM unlock, then there is no need to change any settings manually for GSM network. but i had a tough time connecting to the EDGE (Vodafone Live!).
The manage settings shows "Cellular line(GPRS, 3G)", yeah. i think these menus are generic templates from windows mobile.
BTW, did u had that AIRTEL logo coming while u switched on the phone???

hmm... but official versions are really slow, even on a 525Mhz processor. Cooked ones make the fone really fast. no delay, no lag.. applications load really fast..

Folks,
Can you help me fix my HTC Touch Diamond? I bought this in June 2009, barely 2.5 months back, in Pune, India, and it has many problems already. To name a few, bluetooth hardware is not working, FM Radio is not working, QuickGPS not working (got SATNAV installed). I have tried calling up the HTC Care folks, but all in vain. Either the line is busy or no one answers the call. Even personally visiting the office did not help as the care center was closed most of the times last month (whether morning/day/evening).
I do not know how to flash or perform a ROM Upgrade. Just too confusing. I am in Pune, and if anyone wants to help, please reply here as well as on anil underscore gh at hot mail dot com. Will be really glad if you folks can help. For reference, here is the device information:
ROM version: 1.93.720.2 WWE
ROM date: 08/07/08
Radio version: 1.00.25.07
Protocol version: 52.29.25.12G
Help me keep my phone alive.
Thanks for all the help you provide.
Cheers,
-Anil
I have a HTC flo pro, and my friend said i can get an update on it so tis faster, and looks different ( eg the calender is different ) but how can i download this update and install it on my phone?
thanks
** EDIT **
i went on http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=140&cat=2&dl_id=501 and put my serial but it says
'Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.' HUH ?!!?
The ROMs you download from HTC will all basically look the same unless they are carrier-branded ROMs.
You can install any number of custom ROMs which will make the phone faster and look different. Look in the Raphael ROM Development forum for the ROMs. Look at the screenshots, read the Wiki, and start flashing!
Once you start, you won't go back!
I'm trying to update to 5.05.4551 and it runs through etc
i get this error 'error 294' invalid vender?
What carrier is your phone now? Are you sure that Carrier and HTC have released a new ROM?

Enter your serial number, then download it.
I do not have a serial number that it accepts. Otherwise I would not ask here.......
use this:
SH9XXXXXXX0
Dont forget, you wont be able to flash your Orange HTC Touch 3G with this ROM unless you hardspl the thing.
It does work, cos i've done it to mine. The best thing about this ROM, is that the WIFI works properly.
Enjoy
Many thanks. I am very grateful.
Do I need to use customruu (which I got from the hardspl page I think) or can I just run the built in installer? I have already hardspl'd my phone.
NB: latest downloadable version for anyone interested is 2.32.405.3.
if hardspl is done, then you should be able to install the ROM from it's own installer.
can i try this @Wolves4Ever
hi
im from asia can i try this ROM i mean will this work for me or will it brik my phone
thanks in advance

Just wondring why you want to change to the latest WWE ROM. The reason I ask is that I recently updated to this ROM and regret it! As far as I can see, it offers no improvments to the original but has caused me problems.
Firstly, it keeps "loosing" my SD card. I used a 16Gb Sandisk in my Jade sucessfully for the 8 months before the update. As soon as I installed the new ROM it couldn't find the card and worse, it corrupted it badly. I had to format it for it to work but now, about 1 month later its not finding the card again. HTC support arn't interested as they say the phone is only able to use up to 4Gb. I'm currently using a 4Gb card to see if this works but I don't see why I have to downgrade! We report back to see if this works.
Secondly, I think the battery life isn't as good as before. I haven't done acurate tests but it now struggles to do 2 days between charges, when before it did about 2.5 days.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had these problems. You have been warned!
Woolly.
I have had a few probles: the ROM freezes and crashes. This did not happen with the HK WWE version someone has posted here.
However, it is a vast improvement over the orange branded software.
I have not had the problems you refer to.
The WWE UK ROM can be downloaded from http://rapidshare.com/files/2748523...dio_Sign_12.41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe.html

Unlucky you! I upgraded to the latest ROM mainly 'cos the Orange ROM stuffs up the Wifi. All seems to be fine and the 2gb SD works fine. As for battery life, cant say its any better or worse. It was pretty poor before anyway.

Hi guys
I have an Orange Jade 110 and sufferred the Unique / no wifi problem. Orange support were no help whatsoever.
Using the excellent info on this forum, I installed hard spl and then decided to try the HTC asia 2.33.721.1 rom. unfortunately I have lost where I downloaded it from but I think there is a link on here somewhere.
- I downloaded the file & used the program's installer to flash my Rom - all orange stuff now gone and I have a fully working phone again that uses wi fi as a priority before using the sim data connection ie like my tytn 11 kaiser
hope this helps
just found the thread with the download link..

I did all of this but used the updated official ROM from HTC. I could not get the file from the HTC website because it says my S/N is not compatible, I can only assume that this is because HTC have agreed to not release the software to Orange units forcing us poor customers to pay to use 3G internet rather than free WI-FI. A bit of searching led me to an English version hoseted on another website:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/gdoyj...1_Radio_Sign_12. 41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe
Works a treat and i love it!

Hi...i'v now had my touch pro 2 going about 4 months now and i'v really enjoed the phone
...but thanks to this website i'v discovered i can have my phone looking like a customized handset...
here's the problem...
i currently have ROM version: 1.14.161.6...
any time i try to upgrade the latest Energy ROM it ends up with a connection error...
i just bassically want to know what im doing wrong if anything...
please help............
Have you applied the Hard-SPL first?
There's some steps detailed in one of the stickys for flashing for the first time;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
odafone removal
Firstly flash the phone by Hardspl- ing it, this allows you to install non certified roms onto it
secondly download and install energyrom ensuring you hae a fully charged battery
works a breeze
