Hi,
Have a XDA O2i and I have a motorola blue tooth handsfree.
I have been using these together fine for a while now. I have also purchased Voice Command. So my mobile speaks the number calling and my calendar reminders etc via the phones speaker and never through the bluetooth which I would dearly love. Then all of the sudden the other day Voice Command started working through the bluetooth headset and I was getting the calls announced on my bluetooth and it was fantastic. Then I tried to use the XDA and the thing was locked and I needed to reset it. Once it had been reset, it went back to announcing stuff via the phones speaker. Now I know it can be done, I want to know if there is a backdoor hack that can make this permanent and keep the XDA working at the same time. Anyone here know of this.
On a further note, I think it would be even better if you could use the bluetooth to make calls through the voice command software rather than having to use the actuall phone which sort of defeats the who functionality.
Anyway any help would be great.

My headset (a Jabra) has 2 connection settings with the XDA2i.
In standby mode you get a headphones symbol on the PDA display
In active mode the headphones have lines coming out of them
To switch between the two modes on the Jabra you tap the call button on the headset.
I don't know if this will work, but give it a try.

do you tried also a buttom to call with voice command application or a phone call ?
I've a HTC S100 and the sound is well but it's very difficult to start a voice commande or to recall last call because seem that the function "hand free" sometime is lose.
Sorry for my poor English !

I have the same problem with my handsfree headsets an Tytn II (kaiser):
i have a motorola H700 and a Scalarider headset for helmets.
They are bot NON-ADP and thyey support handsfree.
Sometimes the button on them stop working and I can't do voice dialing with Voice command neither repeat last call.
They appear as connected and If I manually call a number they work.
To get the button works again I have to restart the phone.
Maybe a fault in the microsoft bluetooth stack?
Also: my Motorola H700 has a flip and when you open it the headset turn on and get connected.
You should be able to answer phone calls by opening the flip.
Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't connect if I open it while the phone is ringing and in that case I have to restart bluetooth connection to make it work again.
Microsoft or HTC should check end improve bluetooth stack!
Any hack around?
Can't we put the broadcom instead of microsoft stack on kaiser?
I wrote to HTC Support about this problem and they answered :
"Customer email address:XXXXXXXXXX
Good Afternoon,
The multi function button is the one small button with the led light in, not the big play/pause button.
If you try the other button, it should work.

Astonished!
Amazing answer!
Are they idiot?
I'll write them too,
I hope someone cleverer will read the my mail
and suggest the bug to the technical stuff.
I have a motorola H350 and have been experiencing the same problems. It's driving me mad. The problem makes the use of the hands free totally useless as it seems to stop working at the drop of a hat.
What I've found so far.
To get it working you need to turn on the ear piece.
Then turn on the bluetooth on the phone.
If you do this any other way it doesn't work. Once it's working you may or may not be able to hang up with the button. If that's the case it won't answer with the button either.
Once it's working it seems to work ok till either the headset or the phone's bluetooth is turned off.
Voice dial will not fire up until the main procedure if followed and sometimes it takes several tries.
I was wondering if this was something to do with the motorola but seemingly it's to do with the stack so getting another device isn't going to help I guess.
The bluetooth worked perfectly on the Hermes but immediately I got the Kaiser one thing alerted me to the fact that something was different.
With the Hermes, as soon as I turned on the bluetooth and the earpiece the phone would alert me to the fact that the motorola wanted to connect.
With the Kaiser nothing, even when I searched for a device. I had to find out how to put the earpiece into search mode before it would find it.
Very flakey and very disappointing. I hope someone finds a fix for this.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
I've got an H700 and Jawbone. I do notice more crackle type sounds and lower volume on both using Kaiser compared to my 8525. The H700 connects within 1-2 seconds when opening it's flip and I have noticed that on occasion, if I walk away from the phone (eg. phone on desk) the headset may not reconnect when I return. The Jawbone has been fairly good at connecting and staying functional at all times but the volume is lower as noted by many people.
I would say that the stack overall is better than the 8525's for all the devices I've tried (3 headsets, 2 Laptops, 1 Garmin Streetpilot with BT Phone interface)
I am also losing the Voice speed dial & redial button from time to time. It also worked that way with my hermes, so I kinda get used to it...
I am now wondering if it is related to my BT earpiece (nokia bh-200 or something like this) of if it is the BT stack which has never been really working on all the device I could test (hermes, trinity, kaiser).
I allmost never had issue recieving call (I don't recieve much call while using the BT earpiece) but it is sometime impossible to initiate a call through the BT earpiece.
The simplest way for me to lose the voice recognition is to:
-Start BT on the phone
-Start BT earpiece
Phone recognize the earpiece, everything is fine
-Restart the phone
Phone & BT reconnect, but voice recognition & redial are gone
I would really appreciate of some of you could test my little procedure and report if it works of not. If it is working for some other BT earpiece I may change mine and get rid of this eternal annoying issue.
Thanks
Jabra BT500
I have the Jabra BT500 and same problem with the TyTn II.
The earpiece can't initiate a voice call...
Looks like HTC (or Windows), starts to deliver ROMs like Mr. Bill Gates does with his M$ crap...
If someone find a solution for this Bluetooth problem, please post it!!!!
Thanks a lot,
Kaiser and Moto H700 just do not work together
I also have a problem with the Kaiser and a Moto H700. The M700 button stops working randomly, the BT connection sometimes disconnect during the call at will.
I can still use H700 successfully with my old Nokia 6680, so the problem clearly is in the Kaisers BT stack.
I’ve made the BT update that HTC posted just recently for TyTN II, but it had no effect.
Fortunately, I have my old Moto H500. This one is working OK with the Kaiser, but. Like it was pointed here before me, the only way to get it working you need to turn on the ear piece. Then turn on the Bluetooth on the phone.
In case if the Bluetooth connection was disrupted for some reason, the only way to make it work is again swath Kaiser BT off then turn on the ear piece and switch on the TyTNs BT.
The Kaiser’s BT stack is not good also connecting with a PC, the connection is just not stable.
Just wanted to chime in and say I've had the exact same problems with my Tilt and Motorola H700 as various people have described here. I posted about it on the AT&T forum too, and no one there has any working solution either, AFAIK. I too tried the "fix" from HTC, and to no avail.
This is a pretty big disappointment for me; I love my Tilt, but Bluetooth is not new technology, and it's really inconvenient that it works so poorly on this phone.
Motorola headsets seem to have a problem with this device. I had trouble getting my H500 to connect and the voice button to work. Once I reset the phone when the headset was on and it wouldn't connect. I tried deleting and re-pairing. It took another reset to get it back. Fortunately I don't use that headset anymore.

The same problem.
But this time with the Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980.
I also put the "fix" from HTC, I gave them back and they change them with another brand new Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980, but the problem exists.

I just bought the same headset... cant get it work with the TyTN II - Kaiser but pairs without any problem with my TyTN I - Hermes... clearly it is the BT Stack
Way beyond my abilities, but cant the BT stack on Hermes be cooked into a rom for the Kaiser ?
I have a Motorola HT820 and a Motorola S9 both devices are working flawless with the kaiser.
Now i own a motorola S705 too , with this device my kaiser suddenly turn the bluetooth off (

Hi everyone. I have had my Tilt for 4months now and it has given me a lot of joy. I have flashed and reflashed with no problems at all. I am currently using Schap's 4.31 Rom with 1.27.12.11 radio.
About a month ago i installed a new car stereo that has bluetooth connectivity with my phone - worked like a charm, paired very easily and generally appeared to be working with no probs.
Then i noticed that if i was in a bluetooth conversation and somebody else was calling (on call waiting), if i switched calls i could not hear anything, and if i ignored the second call, when the person on call waiting hang up, both conversations were terminated. I thought it was odd, but i just deactivated call waiting and thought, "let them try calling me later".
The other, a lot more serious problem, is that sometimes, randomly as far as i realised, the phone will go totally silent - incoming calls won't ring, and when i try to make a call, when i press "talk" then phone does not make that beep that it makes when an outgoing call is initiated. Should the person i call pick up i cannot hear them at all.
A soft reset takes care of this problem, but it has happened to me 3 times already, and i think it was after a bluetooth call.
Has anybody faced this problem before? I need to be available on the phone 24/7 due to my work and i really need to find a solution for this. Yesterday afternoon i took a nap for 45 minutes and had six missed calls that i never heard cause the phone never rang.
The phone is always on "ring" and at full volume.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks
Alkis
Same issue
I'm assuming since I also am facing this same problem that it is not uncommon. It seems to me that it happens after a bluetooth device is turned off. Somehow it sets the volume on everything to mute. I thought only a soft reset would fix it until I discovered that it was just shutting off the volume. Still annoying, though.
Tilt problems with phone going silent
This problem has occurred with my phone every since upgrading to the WM 6.1 and it is related to a bluetooth device being hooked up. Often when someone calls the ringer will go from vibrate to on, but the volume turns all the way off. It will then cycle to off completely. The cycling occurs when a call comes in or when I hang up. I can stop this problem from happening by disconnecting the bluetooth head set. I have tried three different headsets and the problem occurs with all of them (Jawbone I, Jawbone II, and Plantronics) so I know it is not the brand of headset. HTC said to try a download of a screen dimmer problem, but have not done that yet. Anyone have any better advice?
did u guys ever find a solution to this?
its quite annoying missing calls because my phone decides to go silent for some reason
Same issue with GPS
I have the same issue, even when using software that accesses the GPS via bluetooth port. Muting is irritating, but at least voicemail catches messages. What really bothers me is that sometimes the mute is turned off and the volume up, especially when in a private meeting where we do not want interruptions

HTC Tytn II bluetooth causes silent setting
I too have had the issue where my phone will go into total silent mode after using my bluetooth stereo hands-free feature. It doen't happen after using my bluetooth headset though.
It happens pretty regular that after using the bluetooth hands-free of my JVC car stereo that when I take the phone elsewhere it is totally silent. no ringer, no alarm (Ptravel alarm is what I use), no audio if I make a call (or receive a call).
It also will cause the phone to be silent on subsequent calls on the bluetooth stereo hands-free: ie: I take a call, hang up and another call will come in and I can answer it but have no audio.
My Tytn II is running the HTC (AT&T) WM 6.1 upgrade. The only thing I have done is use the Advanced configuration manager and the Kaiser tweak to change a few settings for performance and visual enhancements.
I see others are having the same problems.....Has anyone else used the tweaks and maybe that is root of the problem?
Has anyone discovered a fix (really important). My only options are to soft reset every time I get out of the car or not use the JVC bluetooth capability (which is why I replaced the stock radio in the first place).
Thanks
Hi rrackman,
I'd advice for you to look at the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438457
It's quite long, so better subscribe to it and wait for responses. Several people with Tilt's have the same problem. Myself I have a JVC NX-7000 and an unbranded Kaiser (HTC TyTN II). It works fine with WM6.0, but I have the same issues you mention with WM6.1. First advice while we're searching for the solution: downgrade to WM6.0...
Regards,
Nika.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Try WM6.0 ROM - check out the thread I mention in my sig.
Regards,
Nika.
I did indeed take a look at the thread you linked earlier. Sorry for making the quick post earlier, I should have mentioned that this is regarding the "unexplained volume drop to zero" symptom, not the NSI symptom. Fortunately I don't have the NSI problem, just the drop to zero problem.
Of course downgrading to 6.0 would be the key solution, was just hoping to find a way to avoid doing just that. My phone never had the problem prior to 6.1 and was running the exact same list of applications and settings.
Hello,
I searched a program for my Kaiser that disconnects a BT device, such as carkit or headset, when a call is finished.
With disconnecting I mean that the device is not connected anymore at that moment.
So when I have an incoming phonecall, I have to push to connect my BT device to my phone. Then I can pick up the phone with my device.
Who knows were I can find this?
Thanks,
Temba
Hmm, I don't see the point.
When an incoming call is received, before it starts ringing the Kaiser will look for a known paired BT device, if it is on but not connected it will connect it automatically. If it's not on at that moment you're out of luck for that call.
Just leave your device connected... you should already have to push on your device to take the call, no?
Kilrah,
The point is that when I end a call, I want that my BT device disconnects from my phone. Reason is that when I walk to my car, I want to use my BT carkit and not my headset.
Maybe I had to ask how I can unpair a BT device from my phone after a call. But 'unpairing' is for me that I have to enter a pincode every time I want to connect.
Any ideas?
Temba
Hi,
This is an issue between HTC Windows Mobilie devices and carkits equiped with a parrot chip.
As far as I've understood all Windows Mobile 6.1 devices are affected.
I myself have a Kenwood DNX 8220 BT Double DIN Head Unit in the car but there are more Head Units and carkits that make use of the Parrot chip CK5050 if I'm not mistaken.
Does anyone have a tweak or a registry setting that is able to fix this?
I've allready tried to change the COD registry value to: 52020C which is suggested as a solution in a parrot forum topic:
http://www.parrot.com/forums/english/viewtopic.php?id=5620
It didn't solve the issue

Oops, had missed this reply back then. I know it's way old, but as someone brought this thread up again, never know if you might read it...
AFAIK this isn't possible. If you have 2 BT devices, paired and powered on but not connected, when a call is received / placed form the phone it will use the last one that has been either connected or selected and "Set as hands free" in the BT settings. If you want to make sure the phone connects to one of them without you going in the BT settings and set it as hands free, you need to turn the other one off.
Ok, not sure if anyone got the same problem as mine, but here is my problem:
I have a Diamond using AZTOR v7 Rom, radio vBS14 if that matters and Sony Ericsson DS205 as my headset. I start my bluetooth on my diamond and can pair up with the DS205 without any problem. I can also listen to music without lag and sound is also crystal and solid.
When there is a call kicks in, I can answer the call by pressing a button on my DS205..... However, the problem comes when I end my call, the headset will be disconnected afterward and I have to manually press a button on the DS205 to make it reconnect. Each time when I make a call or when I receive a call the headset will be disconnected.
Luckily (or not), I found a workaround: Whenever I pair up my headset, I need to go to Setting -> Bluetooth -> and "Refresh" the services that I want to enable on the DS205 headset. That involves un-checking the services enabled (including "Wireless Stereo" and "Hands Free") and re-checking the services again. After I have done this "resetting", the disconnection problem I described above will be gone.....
Each time I restart the phone or have the bluetooh disabled on the phone, I need to go through that manual procedure again to make my headset work perfectly.
As you can imagine, that is quite annoying.......does anyone have the same problem as me?
I don't have this problem, but i have another problem, when i use the orignal rom, i can use my headset(jabra bt3030) in my diamond and it will automatically connect to use hands free and wireless stereo mode when i turn on bluetooth, so when i change to use swift 7.5 full rom, i have to resetting the bluetooth in diamond everytime when i close bluetooth
I can only get wireless stereo for my Plantronics Bluetooth Stereo headset. Any ideas why I can't get hands-free. Radio issue?
It was possible with some earlier ROM, but I can't remember which... (yes, I'm a flashing addict).
I'm having the same exact problem & it's annoying as hell. At this point, I can't get the bluetooth function on the phone to activate at all. I use the same bluetooth on another phone with no problems whatsoever, so I know it's the phone. I'm running the original rom.....not a flasher.
Have you tried Jetware?
Sorry, just installing this doesn't change anything. Still no hands-free.
Is there a specific option you want us to set?

Yes - I have a very similar problem with my jabra SP700. The Diamond 'forgets' the wireless bluetooth mode every time I disconnect the two devices (although the Stereo Bluetooth icon is still showing in the status bar).
For a short while I was having to re-pair the devices every time I got in the car - until I found the same workaround as you.
There must be a proper solution???
Hello, I had that problem in my HTC Diamond with Pioneer DEH-700bt and my jabra 3030 and she solves when changing in the registry the key to it that identifies the device in pocketpc HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Sys the key "COD" and I introduced the value decimal 5898764 that identifies the device in smartphone
luck
