Ok so I really love the mightymax hero browser and flash I have used it on my g1 it is really fast and flash works well enough, can anyone help explain to me how to replace the browser in the king 2.1 rom with this one I have the king rom and it is very strong i just hate the newer browser.
So far i tried to add the flashlite.apk file the browser.apk and the flashplayer.apk to the app_s folder. in the zip however when I try to install in the recovery menu it fails says there is a mismatch.
can someone guide me I am just interested in getting the one from mightymax or king hero sense the newest rom type running.
thanks
Ian
You want this:
Max's hero(1.5) browser to replace the one found in 2.1 hero from King?
It may or may not work since you want the 1.5 browser in a 2.1 rom.
I want the 1.5 hero browser with flash in either superd 1.7 or kings 2.1 eclair or I would settle for kings hero eclair browser with flash in kings 2.1 eclair
kings eclair 2.1 runs very good for me with overclockerwidget and droid swapper set at 90 swap with 80 swappiness.
the only thing I hate about eclair is the eclair browser.
I just thought the mighty max hero browser was really fast and smooth.
I really want to learn how to do this myself and I am looking for some tutorial help.
thanks
I may have posted this in the wrong place if so mods please move it to the right one.
can anyone tell me if this can be done and if so how? or if it has been?
i'm not 100% on android as im new, but what i do know is you're trying to "flash" the zip file to your phone which is wrong
the APK files need installing using apps installer, not sure if this will make the flash part of the browser work, but i know you're not supposed to try and flash the browser using the .zip method
let me know if it works? i'm going to try this myself tonight
You cant put the hero browser on non-hero roms, it needs too much gumpf

I have downloaded the apps_s.zip and the hero-signed.zip files to put hero rosie on my g1 but i cant figure out how to get it on...
also, is hero rosie better than cyan3.9.10?
does it have features like multitouch and apps2sd?
honestly... you actually asked this... i think all hero roms now put app_s in the ext2/3/4 partition to start with and all of them have a2sd on initial setup with you only having to have second partition. did you read nothing from the thread you got the rom from. unless it is the one haykuro posted a few months back. which hero rom is it. no it will not be faster than the cyanogen rom.
yes should have multi-touch browser as well

did you read this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=534461
hero does runs slower than cyanogen, yes. choose cyanogen if you want functionality at the blink of an eye and if you want a lot of themes. choose hero if you want gorgeous ui and don't mind waiting a lil bit. personally i suggest drizzy's personal hero. but you've got to have patience.

I have been using cyanogen for a while and want to get into eclair.
I have seen that there are 2 that interest me, KiNgxKxlicK and openEclair. What are the differences/benefits from one another.
Will my current apps work fine with these or will i have to wipe ext and reinstall them?
Chris
As much as I would love to stay with OpenEclair because of their "popularity", Kings Eclair ROMs have always felt smoother to me(and as of now, his includes Live Wallpapers).

You are going to have to wipe. Both roms are really good. Openeclair is having some issues with the included live wallpapers but the ones from the market work. Just remember, there are no drivers for video in eclair so most video won't work.
My suggestion for your apps is to back up the ext first then use "droid explorer" to batch reinstall.
Wow, this ROM works great. But i think i will stay with Cyanogen for now. I cant bear not having fast games and 3d stuff.
Anyone know when the hardware drivers are going to be released?
Chris
Hello all,
I am new to this site and new to the custom ROM rooting, I not the biggest fan of android 2.1 so I looking for a new ROM, does anyone have any suggestion's on ROM's I could use for my phone and the directions, since I being new I have no idea how to root. I have the Sprint CDMA Hero, Thanks in advance and sorry for being a newbie
My favorite 1.5 rom was Fresh 1.1 accompanied by the gumbo kernel.
You'll have to do a little searching to find it though, pretty much everything has been built on 2.1 for the last few months.
Ya I notice most newer ROM's are based off 2.1 which is fine with me, I just not a fan of the andriod 2.1 update, lots of apps just run randomly, and horrible call and dial lag

Not a fan of Android 2.1? Or Sense 2.1? I'd go try darchdroid before going back to anything 1.5
+1 for DarchDroid.
Check the Stickies or the Wiki. Everything you need to Root and flash ROM's is in those.
I'm using TheOfficial AOSP 1.6 rom , and was wondering if anyone can give me an update.zip for the Eclair browser.
The one with MultiTouch and user profiles like (iPhone , Desktop , Internet Explorer 6 , Android , etc.)
Thank You.
how about ripping it from cyanogen's latest donut rom and installing it yourself?

i pulled the browser from cyanogens latest donut rom , pushed it to my phone , but it won't install...
i would appericate if someone know's of an update.zip and can share it with me , or perhaps make me one. thanks for your time.
i really hope you get that working im thinking of going bact to donut or cupcake but will miss a few things
Your only chance of getting this to work is ripping it from various Donut ROMs that include an Eclair browser and pushing it to /system/app or just intalling it. If it doesn't install, it won't work. I don't think offical AOSP even supports multi-touch.
I thought multi touch was enabled in the kernel, not the app. I could have sworn I read that somewhere.
