Hi
I downloaded Audio effects.apk file from Motorola milestone. How can i install it on my Mytouch3g. Do i need android 2.01?
I will appreciate any help.
Thanks
Install using any file manager.
Use any of your file manager program to open the apk file, which internally opens up it in Android Package Installer. By which you can install any of your apk files to your phone.
I was searching for the audio_effects.apk file, which comes with motorola milestone initial setup.
if you have please upload it. it would be helpful.

Is the installer in the form of a .cab file? I'm willing to bet that you're opening the CAB file on your PC and looking inside it, which isn't the way to go here. You're supposed to copy the entire CAB file across onto your phone then launch the CAB file from your phone to run the installer.
I cannot push via adb right now due to the lack of an at home PC............ I don't think my ps3 can do it since Sony took the happy out of it with their last few firmware updates.
If you have the apk, why cant you just install it using a file manager? Or, if you want it in /system/app/ you can download estrongs file manager, which has root access then just copy the apk into that directory.
I found some pretty cool looking games for android that aren't on the market. They're in a .jar format. I couldn't find much through google on getting them to an .apk file so I can fun them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure they are meant for android? When I had a Motorola SLVR or my LG flip-phone the game files were jar files. They ran in a Java environment.
I know android uses jar files, but I thought they were more like setting or system files.
But I have never written an android app. Maybe you need to compile them with the sdk.

Might just have something to do with uploading/downloading. Just rename the app to end in .apk instead of .jar and try it. Apk is actually just a form of a .jar anyways. Worst case is it wont install.

The games are over at 3androidapps.
Here are teh instructions and it's the last part that's tripping me up (I've bolded it)...
Download and install the Google Android SDK program and the Android USB drivers.
You need to modify your Android's settings to allow the installation of applications from other sources. Under "Settings," select "Application Settings" and then enable "Unknown Sources." Also under "Settings," select "SD Card" and "Phone Storage," and finally enable "Disable Use for USB Storage"
This last step is easy. Open Command Prompt and type the following: adb install <apk file>
So do I just put this on the root of my SD card? And does <apk file> change it from a .jar file?
Here's the direct link to the game(s)

Hello!
I am trying to DL the newest update for liberty ROM,
Using tool box, it downloads to some folder in the internal memory. When I go through clockwork mod, it says the path is incorrect or file cant be found. Did I miss something? Did I need to set a specific path somewhere?
Thanks
I had same problem. Using root explorer I had to put .zip on the end of the file it downloaded then install it with clockwork. Worked fine after that.
I tried to install the DragonXia Kernel but I can't open .zip files. I have tried to redownload it, and I could open it on my computer so the .zip is not corrupt. I get a message saying "This file is too big to be open inside this device" (this can't be right as it is 12.8MB) . I can't open any other .zips either. I am running CM 14.1 with stock kernel. Any help would be appreciated. :good:
Same issues, try another file manager in google play store,it's work..btw why you need open kernel dragonxia? Just flash in twrp
hi
install 7 zipper on google play store
inspect or install?
No need to open a zip file if it's for installation.
as stated in the first answer to this thread
If you want to manage your zip archives (and the rest of the stuff inside your device) try this app, available here in the xda-verse: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691&nocache=1
Give a big Thanks to the dev (and maybe something else also...
