I think the font while typing SMS is to large, can i reduce it somehow? I allready added another line but getting the font smaller would be helpful too.
I tried to set the fontsize from 8 down to 5 points in the thread_style.css but it didnt work. (of course i rebooted)
Any ideas what i'm missing?
Can't answer your question, but i'm hoping you can answer mine =)
How did you add another line for SMS?
You can adjust that in the thread_sms.htm in the windows folder. In that html you find "hight=35" wich is the hight of the SMS typing field in pixels. A line with the standard fontsize is approximately 17 pixels. So 52 would be 3 lines.
Thank you, but nothing changed when i did that..?
I saved the file, rebooted, didn't see any change, checked the file, it still said 52, so why no change for me?
Worked for me..i just added another line and have 4 now even without a reboot. Are you using the threaded SMS view?
OK
Ya, i've got threaded... stock R3A ROM.
(sorry for hi-jacking your thread ;P )
Maybe our problems are related, for me a change in the thread_style.css has no effect and for you the change in the thread_sms.htm doenst work.
I have no idea why though.
Im using R2A.
I found another thing: If you replace
<Inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBJECT" width="100%" height=40 spell focus count links noclearonbackpresshold limit=0 autocap inserttab scroll />
with
<Inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBJECT" width="100%" height=40 spell focus count links noclearonbackpresshold limit=0 autocap inserttab dynamicresize />
It just does that...it adjust itself to the amount of text you type.

Thanks for the cab. Right version or not, it's colored. That's the most important.
Thanks for posting this cab, been looking for it forever!
However, some issues, I used Schaps Adv Config Tool (v2.1.0.0) to change the buttons:
1. The new added buttons do not have Icons
2. The 3G icon is grayed out and I can no longer toggle it (it worked before I changed the buttons).
3. The Wifi button nor the Wifi Menu selection works (however this might be caused by me putting a different Comm Manager in by mistake).
Help/Suggestions?
EDIT:
Items 2 and 3 are corrected. For #2 I just moved the buttons around and restarted the PDA. For item 3, I had to update the registry to point to WLANSettings.exe and change the hardware key to point to TNETW12511
I am guessing for number 1, it most likely the graphic are missing.

Okay, I was looking in the cab file to see what images are included and of course not all of them are (which is why I am getting blanks on the left side of Comm Manager).
I also noticed the registry value to be able to enable/disable Wifi and to get to Wifi settings from the lower menu option.
-
Code:
<characteristic type="HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN">
<parm name="DeviceName" value="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TIACXWLN1" datatype="string" />
<parm name="" value="\Windows\WLanMgr.exe" datatype="string" />
While I am not 100% sure, I think these are incorrect. Matter of fact these are the values I had and Wifi would not work from Comm Manager until I changed those very same values.

Good looking out Odie!
It's a easy fix, once you know what you need to change. The properly values are in my post before that one.
Anyone installing this, just go to "HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN" to update the two keys with WLANSettings.exe and change the hardware key to point to TNETW12511
Now I am on the look out for the other image files to drop into the \windows\ directory. I have PM'ed Schaps but I would be surprised if he answers me in a PM message.
Odie,
I discovered that installing the B&W 6 button ON/OFF comm manager first then Shap's colour 6 button gives you the rest of the colour icons!
I have no idea why this works, but I suspect it has to do with how the icons are constructed -- you need BOTH the colour data and the B&W data for the icon to show up. The B&W icon has a null colour, so it will always show up.
There still isn't a colour icon for some things though, like Ringer/Vibrate. However, the standard 6 buttons should be skinned now.
I'll try that - you have a link for the B&W 6 button ON/OFF comm manager?
Try this one:
Only the Ringer doesn't seem to have an icon. When you are in Vibrate mode there's one.
Thanks! They are not color but at least the ones I am using are not blank (I am not using the ringer one).
Edit: picture attached
To bad the Beam does not run on the [BT] Beam in System. Most likely some other setting in the registry I have to update.
Install the B&W first, then install the Colour one after. You should not have to soft reset, just restart the Comm Manager and it should be in colour.
Those are the steps I did (except I rebooted after installing the Color one).
No real biggie, it's better to have a B&W Icon then no Icon at all!
Now, I am using Schaps Adv Tool to change the buttons that I am using (so I am not using the defaults). Above is the 6 I think I have settle on and only one is B&W, the data disable one.

Sorry I created images only for the 6 default buttons I'm using in my ROMs, so if you want colored icons for other buttons you will have to draw them by yourself or use original black icons.

Seeing that I was never a good artist or colorer, I guess I am sticking to the B&W ones that where not done.
How can i get rid of the Beam and replace it with Push Email? I don't have IR but I use push email. Is there a tweak that I can do or do I have to get a whole different comm manager? i won't the 6 button coloured one.
advanced config will let you pick what items are in the comm manager. This will do what you are looking for and more.
This should be me moved the Kaiser Software section.
This has nothing to do with ROM Development.
I know this thread is sorta old, but without creating a new one, I wanted to chime in that I made a color 10 button comm manager for the Tilt. If anyone is interested, I will post a cab.
Why have you not posted this yet? lol
For that matter, why has nobody asked you to?
The font in the threaded sms in HTC DIamond is ridiculously huge. Not the font of my own typing, but the font of the sms i'm replying to. How do i make the font smaller?
When i had a tytn2, going to start > settings > system > screen > and adjusting font size here solved the problem. Doesnt seem to work for Diamond. Or am i missing something here?
At the threaded sms screen....put your finger on the circle button's circumference and move it clockwise..or CCW for smaller font..
owh....****. *embarassed*. Sorry my bad. thanks! (no wonder i felt that when i first bought diamond i felt the font was smaller, must have enlarged it accidentally)
Hi,
I have the same issue and tried the method you recommend, but it doesn't change anything. However I found out a registry key that does perfectly the job: go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\Zoom and enter a DWORD value that ranges from 1 (smallest font size) to 4 (largest font size - default).
thanks thats been driving me nuts...
I am glad that I did search~~ cause I was going to change do it with regedit too~~
Sorry to resurrect this.....
Is there a way to change the size of the actual text input box for sms / outlook?
With medium text size, when I'm replying to an sms I can see roughly two lines of text in the reply box. Is there a way of making the box bigger so i can see three or four lines of text in the reply box at a medium text size setting?
ALSO It seems you can only decrease the font size of the input text in the system settings, unlike using the d pad to change the font size of the message thread.
You sure can change the area in threaded sms to see a little more of what you typing.
The file thread_sms.htm (found in /windows or in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467966&highlight=thread_sms.htm ) is the key.
If you open the file linked with forinstance notepad you see in line 21 the keyword height=35.
35 is the default value, change that to 70 to double the height of your writing area.
save the file and overwrite the thread_sms.htm in /windows directory on the phone by using total commander or the like.
Kindly
Kwasmir
Thanks, man that small area was BUGGING me!!!!
Cheers!
This is probably a WM6.1 question more than a Diamond question, but because I'm using JUICY'S 2.2 ROM, I figured I'd ask here.
I am a person with a visual impairment - I can't see all that well. I've used Windows Mobile devices for a few years but would be very interested in making the text much large on many screens within Windows Mobile. I've been able to do this through the Registry, making the font size larger for menues, pop-ups and title bars. What I can't seem to figure out is how to make the text large in "Text Messaging." In Juicy's ROM, threaded text messaging is used (which I love) but I can't seem to find the registry key to edit the font size of the text that is received. The perfect font size for me in this case would be 14 point font.
Start / Settings / Screen / Text Size - this doesn't increase the font large enough for me.
Please help if you could with this issue. It would be much appreciated.
I was able to edit the font size of the text that I type into "Text Messaging" but still not the actual conversation text size. Please help! Thanks.

Thanks for the tip - that does make the text a "bit" larger which helps, so thank you. Still would be interested in a registry hack for it though...
Not sure if this is the best place for this question but here goes anyway..
Is there a way to change the SMS input window size? Im running a custom ROM and the size is about 2x what im used to and its bugging me.. im used to having 2 lines of displaied txt and this has 4.. im sure its a setting, reg entry somewhere but i havn't found it yet..
TIA
Using Total Commander, Go into the ‘Windows’ directory and find the line ‘thread_sms.htm’ and go to ‘edit’ then find the line towards the bottom <inbox:content id=COMPOSESUBJECT width =”98%” height = 35. Urs might have something other than 35 in the height, since it is a cooked rom. Simply reduce the # in the height to 35, which i think is the default 2 line text msg window, and hit save. that should get you fixed up.

After pressing the start button in WM 6.1 the start button was hightlighted. In WM 6.5 the button is not highlighted...so in the folder "\SYS\23016\DPI_192\COMMON\Base_DPI_192" is an png called "black_taskbarHighlight.png" which is for highlighting the start button.
For Hightlighting the honeycomb icons we have to add the following line to "StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr":
<Image ID="Selection" Left="0" Top="0" Width="192" Height="166" Source=".\StartMenu_Selection.png" />
So the question is what do we have to add for making the start button highlight available?`Any ideas?

I would start by using a similar line just replace with the correct .png. You might have to play with the values of left and top a little to get it centered and width and height. just try it and see if it works.
The top taskbar is not controlled by a cpr file, so no simple text editing. I'm pretty sure you would have to edit the Shellressometing.dll.mui, so no simple text editing.
And next time, don't post 3 different threads.

The values for top and line are already at 0...so you can not move up to the taskbar. Dwizzy130 might be right.
