(Question) How To Edit ROM ? - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hello, i have a question that i wana ask from long time.
How i can edit ROM by Edit ROM i mean to get one ROM and to use it for base but to edit some functions etc and make it like i wana be.
And to be clear for example i like alot one ENERGY ROM that all is fine with her and she work super, also is enought fast and im using and this is cool for everyday use, but i think that this ROM can be even more faster, stable and etc by editing the ROM with my teste, i don`t wana change so many things just to remove from the ROM App`s that i don`t use and i never will use, also the taskbar icons to be like i wana to be and to coock in that ROM and the Rilphone and the Drivers im using to be coocked in the ROM, on the final if i clear some of the programs that i dont use and will not use in future will have one super ROM and will save from the main Memory witch is better for the whole device.
So can anyone explain me how i can do this? do here have a soft like this to edit a ROM and can i read some info about this?!
Im asking you because i don`t wana coock ROM just to make litle cosmetig changes by my teste and clear some unuseful apps
Thanks

I don't think it's possible the way u wish.
You will have to dump the flashed ROM and to make your wished changes in the kitchen. Then cook your new ROM and flash that one.
But ... most Custom ROMs are protected so when you dump it and include it in your kitchen you wouldn't be able to customize it.
I don't know what about the ROM you mentioned ... but I assume it will be so.
good luck and best regards
fwt

Ok i understand is not very easy to do this BUT the question also
How can i remove/uninstall Applications that are coocked in the ROM.
Because in the ROM that im using have alot apps that i will never use in the future and i don`t need them, so is better to remove them and save some phone memory etc..
Of anyone know how to do that please let me know

After browsing through most the mods, hacks and updates.....I have know idea which Custom ROM works the best and had a few ideas....

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326655
then I visited the ROM page and felt like all of them were good upgrades from the stock wing...
so heres my question....If i want to get a ROM do they come with the mods in the link above meaning I'm good
I realize the risk of flashing, should I do it on my refurbished (factory) phone?
And which ROM is the sleekest and stable of all of them
thanks for looking
-Paul
well.. to cook your own ROM, there are some utils and post... use the SEARCH button and the correct words to get your task done
- You can flash your device safe, but you have to read advices to avoid bricked devices (for example, you cant flash anything in a 1.xx.xxxx device)
- stable and sleek ROM, you'll have to try by yourself

Open Touch was my first rom and I've stuck with it since. Very Stable and Fast! I'm currently running ver 4.0 lite and I love it.
I second that, open touch is absolutely amazing. If you dont want to miss any apps, then go for the biggy. Good luck
Any and all of the roms fit your preferences. There is an automatic configuration program that works wonders.
If you are really picky, you can make your own rom with either Ivan's EasyBakeOven or hypercore.

New User on Touch Pro

Hi all,
I am a new user to PDA phones and I have read through the wiki about this cell,
but I still have sth to ask.
1. What is Manila?
2. How can configure or add themes and tab icons in the TF3D?
Please give me a hand in starting to know more about the machine, Thx
Someone can expand or correct, this is just how I understand it to be.
1. Manilla\Rhodium = TouchFlo3d interface from HTC. It will be called TF3d as well.
Titanium = Windows Mobile 6.5 overlay that is turned on and off via Start\Settings\Today\Items\Windows Default
2. use TF3d to search. So search 'add tabs tf3d' and see if that helps.
Thanks for the answer,
I also see that there is a lot of topics about err,
upgrading the official ROMs into Custom made ROMs,
Is there anything I should notice about upgrading ROMs,
and also wt is the advantage of using 'em?

read the stickies and make sure you know what are the steps to follow to flash a rom. follow them literally. if you don't you might "brick" your phone. when u get used to flashing, the process will be easy to follow, just take your time getting used to WinMo before flashing.
Moving from a stock ROm to a Custom ROM is easy and worth the 'risk' in my opinion. You can find all you need within the Wiki to get started with the flashing of HARDSPL. You will then choose a custom ROM and then flash that ROM to your device. You will lose all data on the phone so make sure you sync before you start.
I personally am using the Energy Rom 3.0 series and I like it.
A cooked ROM or a custom ROM is created by a person (usually with a ROM kitchen) and it removes items the cook thinks are not needed and they often add in tweaks, programs and graphical enhancements.
Some people are looking for a custom ROM that makes their device fast, while others are looking to maximize their TouchFlo3D experience. I persoanlly use Energy ROM because it is Windows Mobile 6.5, it contains Titanium (the WM6.5 touch friendly interface) and because the cook put in plenty of programs and tweaks that I would do on my own.
After I install the ROM, I do go through and install all my own programs. Not every cooked ROM will match your own needs so that is when people begin cooking their own ROM within a kitchen.
I have downloaded the kitchen and attempted to cook a ROM but I find using someone else's is a bit easier.
MSVC is Microsoft Voice Command. So when you are looking for ROMS you might see that acronym.

[Q] how do i deodex my i9000 galaxy s?

Hi everybody!
so can anyone explain me how to deodex my entire rom? and it's VERY IMPORTANT.
i need a good and serious guide.
my firmware version is xwjvb, csc: neejv3 AND i have cf root
i have no idea how it's done and ive clearly never done it but it dont mean i cant,
Also, ive found this post "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=765270" but it's a lil bit confusing, i have xultimate 2.2.3, and for example after step 4 on that guide, i dont find any guava.odex to remove, and it doesnt even work when i start the 4th choice.....
im also not sure if it will work on my phone/os versions.
so will anybody help me please, i really need to deodex to especially try the touchwiz 4 port!

DOn't waste your time in trying to do it yourself; it's already available on this forum. Check this one out!

wow, this is GREAT!!! exactly what i was looking for, thanks ALOT
***eventhough i no longer really need to manually deodex thanks to ramad, and to widget21 for letting me know about it, i'd still like to learn how to manually do it...... so can anybody please help?
once you are rooted the easiest and quickest way to get deodexed is installing a custom ROM -- there are several now that are fairly minimalist and you can cook a bare bones custom rom over at Doc's kitchen. Custom ROMs have the advantage of not only being deodexed but zipaligned and consistent with the file system. Why re-invent the wheel?

im so NOT going to reinvent anything, im not even sure if i can anyways LOL, i was just curious cuz when they talk about it it's like something than can simply be done after flashing a stock rom like rooting..... i already goofed up and lost everything i had on the phone so flashing a new rom is not that big of deal anymore lol
know how you feel: my understanding comes from doing it the hard way and having to rescue the phone several times, so now I know better I try to help people not make the same mistakes I did while I was trying to sort it out myself.
Hope you flashed the kernel and rom you like that gets the most out of your phone and all is excellent today!

Which ROMs am I allowed to customize?

Hi,
I just set up all of that ROM developing stuff (like cygwin and kitchen). Afterwards I need a "clean" ROM as a base.
Which ROM can I use? I wanted to grab a the V30 repack from Nooby0815, but there aren't any apps/media/etc inside.
Is there a "clean" ROM on the board here? Because I really don't want to steal other developer's work...
Thank you
I think tantrums' deodexed stock roms would be great to start with, they are "clean", have all original apps, and plus fully stable (as they are stock) Just ask him permission before you do anything.
ok good idea
sorry for doublepost...
I have another question: To include apps from Play Store like a better Calculator, can I use this tool? I wonder if I could, because of the device ID
