I need a program for work that will count inventory (sales). For example if i see a flag that says 4 sales i will tap the screen 4 times and it will add it to the total, then I see a flag thats says 2 sales I will tap the screen 2 times and it will add 2 to the total.
The program should also have a button to reset the counter to 0 as well.
Could anyone whip this up for me real quick, it shouldnt take more than a few mins. (I would do it myself but I'm on a really slow internet connection and the windows mobile sdk is like 300MB...)
actually nm, i got bored and made it myself, thanks for looking though

Is there a plug-in that will show the current temperature on the Today screen? I'm using SPB Mobile Shell, which has an icon for the condition outside (cloudy, sunny, etc.), but requires a click to get to the temperature. Anyone using anything that will display it without having to click?
Thanks.
You could use the HTC Home plugin and set the Weather tab to be first and to be the default tab. That may do it.
You could try Weather to Go although it appears to show min/max temps by default though not current temp. I dont know if that is good enough for your requirements. The std HTC Home always shows current temps for me when selected as it always wants to update before displaying anything despite being set to update automagically.
I use weather panel. It works great. You can set it for how often you want it to update the weather. It also allows you to view radar images of your area. It is free and although its a couple of years old works very well.

Thanks. No longer free -- 15 day trial, but it looks cool.
WeatherPanel just says it's a 15 day free trial. The developer for this app disappeared quite a while ago and must have turned off the trial before he left. Mine is also supposed to be the 15 day free trial version also but it's been working just fine for at least 8 months now.
Hey, does neone know how to incoporate how many minutes/text msg's used in an app ?
Thanks
just go get T-Mobile My Account in the Market
No
No i mean there was this app call meter...it recorded how many minutes u have talked ...but it read from phone..so itwasnt like the day u get the app the counter starts...
i am very interested in that app too..
or a similar app to battery status (for WM) that calculates the outgoing minutes and seconds to the second and also can have a minimum time in every call calculated (e.g. if you talk 5secs and you have minimum 30sec charged in every call it can calculate that)..
please help!
Yes, T-Mobile's "My Account" in the market shows how many minutes you've used to your account.
You can use the program Self Help for more percise calculations, like notifications. Also, I'm not sure if it exists anymore, because I just did a search for it and I didn't find anything, but a program called "Phone Meter" or "Phone Status" (something along those lines) can show, based on your call logs, how often you call any given person, minutes spent, and graphs everything out. Neat app, if you find it.
Has anyone used this app. I have used it for a few days and it is alright. It works good when I go shopping with my wife. You just open the app and click the store your in and scan the items it tells you for points. You are supposed to be able to cash points in for gift cards and what not. I have a referral code that gets your 50 points to start. Pm if you want it. I don't know if am able to post it to everyone.

Been using is for awhile now, there are some bugs here and there, and when you switch roms, make sure you are logged in again when using it.
Otherwise the main annoying thing, it is pretty darn difficult to "walk-in" to a store with captivates craptastic gps, either that or their entry points are way off. I have only successfully walked into 2 stores, and can't even repeat that success at the same stores.
Shopkick Walk-ins
I just started using shopkick. Did some research on how it works, the walk-ins use an audio sound from what I've read. It's frequency that's above our ability to hear.
Shopkick
Also, if you're interested, I have links to the bar codes of many of the items to scan. I use Location Spoofer to set my location close to store location so I can scan the bar codes off my computer screen.
gps 100% better on newer models
I got a captivate back in september and recently I hard bricked it. So Iwent to the store and they gave me a new one for free under warrenty (they couldn't even turn it on and apparently the power back on was a known issue for the model I had, even for now rooted users). Well long story short, even before I did the kies mini update to froyo I noticed the GPS was spot on, really fast before and after update. I think the older ones suffer from hardware issue more than a software issue.

My Galaxy Note was stolen a few weeks ago. Fortunately, my parents were nice enough to buy me a new one. Now I'm trying to protect it with maximum security. I've set up the pattern lock screen, I was also asked to set up a back up PIN code just in case I forget the pattern. Now when I try to draw the wrong pattern on purpose for over 20 times, it only tells me "Sorry, try again." It doesn't stop me from trying nor does it ask for the PIN code. Is everyone's Note like this or is there something wrong with mine?
I want to know if it's possible to NOT have it ask for the pattern every time I unlock the device? Is it possible to have it ask for the pattern every hour or something? It's quite annoying having to draw a complicated pattern every time I unlock the device.
I also heard of some security app that takes a picture with the front camera after numerous wrong passcode/pattern attempt and sends the picture to my email. Anyone know what apps have the ability to do that?
Lastly, what are some of your advices/suggestions/recommendations for security apps or keeping the phone more secure?
Loads of thanks.

1. Hmm, for me after 5 incorrect patterns, it just says try again in 30 seconds, don't really have the patience for 20 But I remember one time I gave my friend my phone to hold on to before going for an exam, and she locked the device completely, in which case I had to enter my google account email.
2. there should be a "Lock Delay" option in lock screen settings, and you can delay screen lock, up to 30 min
3. I know what you are talking about with the face taking picture app, but right now for my life of me I can't remember what that app was, back from march-ish, cause I did have it. I used to have Kaspersky anti-theft after that, but got rid of it around june. I felt like it lacked some features, but its been a while, so there could have been an update with more features and stuff. There's an app called Ceberus anti theft that supposedly does the face picture, but I have not used it so can't confirm on that. And there's a specific app on the market Gotya! Face trap. Haven't used it, you can buy it and try it.
3. I'm currently using avast mobile security, since july. I feel like it covers my bases, the only thing thats not featured is the "lock device if entered incorrectly" and essentially the face picture, but i don't really care for that.
Personally, I just use the slider unlock, just quicker, no hassle, especially when driving, its on me always, I trust my friends around me, if someone steals my phone, I have avast to do the magic.
There's many anti-theft/mobile security apps out there, and most are free to install with no in app billing extended features. Kaspersky you have to buy initially, Cerberus is free initially, and has an in app extended feature billing. Just shop around, see what suits your needs

The lock delay doesn't work as I want it to because as long as there's some activity within 30 minutes, it doesn't lock. I'm looking for something that looks the phone EVERY certain amount of time, just don't know if it's impossible. Nonetheless, you have given me a great list of suggestions and apps. I'll look into those apps.
I'm open for more suggestions.

For security thing, see if you can use this.. http://www.samsungdive.com/DiveMain.do
For more info about using this, please go to Ketan's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946240
First, don't use a lock pattern, it's not safe. The only thing that is really safe is password that is composed of numbers and letters.
For delayed locking I recommend the app delayed lock. The name makes sense doesn't it
Further I recommend some kind of encryption tool to protect sensitive data on your phone. There are many available on google play. For logins etc. you can try keepass which is freeware (open source). For photos, videos and any other file types I use droid crypt which is paid software but offers a long trial periode.

Thank you all. My previous Note had Samsung Dive set up but immediately (well 10 minutes) after I lost the phone, I tried using Dive but it did not find the phone. I did set it up on my second Note but I'm not fully relying on it.
Ceberus seems like a good app as a few of you guys have already suggested to me. I'll definitely try that out.
Altae, thanks for the list of apps! And I agree that numbers+letters is the most safe password but it takes quite a bit of effort to type and it's not something I can do without me looking at the screen.
Thanks again everyone.
Im a manager at a grocery store and Im looking for a way to simplify an inefficient inventory reporting fiasco we have. Basically each day we take inventory on three sections of an aisle and when we find discrepancies, we add that item to a second report. After we count the three sections each day we run the second report which takes us around to count a random pool of items but also takes us back to count any items that we added from the first report which means we end up counting items twice unless we keep a written count the first time around which is very time consuming and inefficient.
Basically I would like an app that as I do the first report I could add an item to a list and input a quantity to it so when I come back to it I could quickly grab the quantity from the app and be done. It would also be great if I could add a shelf location to the item so as I use the app it would be building a map of the store so next time around that item would already be in the system.
I found some inventory apps but they are all to in-depth for what i want, I need something simple and maybe a recommendation from someone who has used an app like this before?
Could you not just use a google drive spreadsheet?
You want to do this on a Nexus 7?
This sounds like a job for Excel, so you'll probably need an app (cloud or local) that has more than a basic range of Excel functions. You'll need to use filter, sort, Vlookup, etc
You mention "reports" but not how these reports are generated. Could they be exported to Excel?

PM'd you mate.
Try Kingsoft Office, I've found that my work spreadsheets(xls Office 2010) transfer all the data pretty well. The only thing it doesn't take is the Table graphics
"Basically I would like an app that as I do the first report I could add an item to a list and input a quantity to it so when I come back to it I could quickly grab the quantity from the app and be done."
It is possible that the "two reports" system has been designed for use in large stores so that a check by Employee A is re-checked by Employee B who doesn't know which items are short/over It gives a measure of assurance that the checks are being performed correctly and accurately and also the segregation of duties between A and B could prevent a single employee hiding their "theft" as in "I've had 6 cans of Coke this week so I'll add 6 to my physical count"

You don't need an Android app, you need a WMS (Warehouse management system).
