i cant hear the ring ring noise when making a call the only way i know the call is connected is if the person talks
in short i give miss call sometimes so its very risky because i dont know when to hang up before the person im calling has answered.
Umm . . .
Maybe I'm missing something, but all you have to do is push the speaker button and you can hear the dialing sound. At least that's the case with some of the ROMs I installed.

Mobile phones don't have dial tones, unless you have a Jitterbug phone. You are hearing some other tone, or maybe the sound you are hearing is a byproduct of some part of the phone. For example, on the older model Motorola V3's the EL keypad backlight would emit a low volume tone when lit. Does your "dial tone" stop when the backlight dims or shuts off when in a call? If so then you are hearing the backlight. Most people can't hear it because it is above the range of normal human hearing.
If it is the backlight you are hearing you cannot increase the sound. It is what it is.

props for knowledge of the jitterbug.

If turning the volume wheel does not do it then there is no way I know of.

not just 'a bit silent' then?
no it is realy silent .jou can hear it but if you hold your phone 20-30cm from you ,you cant hear it .
also when putting it on speaker you cant hear it.(because then you are more than 30 cm from your phone.)
when the pickup the sound is fine and loud.
I have the same probleme with my blackstone and its very annoying. if there is some noise you cant heard dial tone when you call someone.
Hi there,
i own a diamond for a week now and i have two strange problems.
one is, when i receive incoming calls sometimes i cannot hear my dialogue partner but he understands me. until i press one of the volume buttons at the side. i think this does not always happen, but in about one of three calls. i also think this only happens on incoming calls, not when i call.
second is, when i dial a number sometimes i don't hear it ringing. theres absolutely no sound until the called person receives my call. this is not reproducable and happens in about one of four cases. i can call someone and hear it ringing and immediately call again and it doesnt make a sound.
this does not sound like a hardware problem. i have rom 1.37.407.2 installed and i am from germany.
i hope someone can help me, this kinda pisses me off. thanks.
alright then, seems solved. I updated to the latest official Rom.

Hi
Often this problem is happening the other end. I've noticed this issue on several phones not just the Diamond.
The problem can often happen if you are calling another mobile and they have their volume up loud. The Diamond seems to send quite a loud clear sound as I've had a few friends on mobiles say they were "turning me down" volume wise
Where the person you are calling has a mobile with the volume up loud, your voice arrives at their mobile, it is then sent out very loudly to their earpiece, and their phones own microphone picks it and transmits it back to you, so you hear an echo of your own voice. If others you are calling complain they hear their own voice echo, then turn your own volume down.
Some people have their mobiles so loud you can hear the other side of a conversation, and they are probably making themselves deaf in the process.
Try asking the person you call next time to turn down their earpiece volume, or you talk quieter and see if it stops.

or is it the network problem?

I doubt it is. It is all digital where would an echo get introduced?
The echo's I've heard are all produced by the person I'm calling with my voice so loud it is being picked up by their microphone and sent back to me with a delay added by the network and they just need to turn their volume down to resolve it. Tiny small phones and really load ear pieces are the cause as far as I've found.

Hi, i have problem with my s3 mini. I have lolipop 5.0.2 everything is working, but when i call one person, i hear whistling like when you tea is ready , very loud sound.
It starts when this person answer to my call, and when this person is talking it is good no other sound, but when this person is quiet then this sound starts. This only happens when i call only 2 persons from my mobile. When i call other everything is okay. Can anyone could help me with this?? Tnx
When I answer my phone I can hardly hear the caller as their voice is so quiet.
How do I turn up the volume so I can hear them?
