What's a good recording app? - G1 Apps and Games

I have some random markets ones, but they all save to .3gp which is really low quality. Is there one that saves to a higher quality file?

I just use the voice recorder app. Playback is good enough for me.
If you are going to record phone calls Google Voice will do that for you. Just give the person your GV number. When they call hit 4 on the keypad and it will record the call. Really cool.. IMO

I know I used to have one that saved the files as WAV, but I am blanking on the name. Lemme see if I can find it...
And the name of it is "Hertz". It worked okay for me the few times I used it.

Recordinggg ???!!?!?!

Anyone know of or have any thoughts of an external microphone to attach to Tilt which will allow one to record higher quality audio?! At school i do a lot of recording and lugging around my comp to record little sessions gets old. Being able to on the ol' tilt would be so awesome!
Looking forward to hearing input,

Recording Mics
Hello Ti,
Have you thought about using the built in microphone or some kind of bluetooth microphone/Headset with the notes app's ability to record? Not so sure if the quality of the recordings would be that great, but it's worth a shot. You can use the notes app to record by going to the overview/all notes screen and selecting "show recording toolbar" then recording until you hit the stop button on the toolbar. I believe you can also improve the quality of your recordings by going to Settings>Personal Tab>Input>Options Tab>Voice Recording Format, however it will expand the size of your recording files. Hope this helps,
Dave
If you need something small, easy and good quality to record audio, get one of those:

[REQ] Better Voice recording

Hi
I have noticed this a few times now that when I record something in Voice Recorder app the quality is appalling....its very bad. But when I shoot a video the sound quality suddenly improves. It becomes much better. I don't want to shoot videos every time even when I just want to record some voice. Video takes a lot of memory. So I would like to request the intelligent and smart people here to look into it and hopefully come out with a solution.
Thanks in advance.

Call recording test.

Can anyone download call recording and test to see if it records both sides of conversation clearly? Please

I just got the acr too and your right, it has crystal clear call recording
incoming and outgoing calls, I must have downloaded 6-7 different
call recorders from the play store and either they don't work at all
or some work but only if the speaker phone is on meaning it actually
records both sides of the call just like any audio recorder would do.
This acr records using line in/out directly using the actual phone
which means the audio quality is excellent and can even be a lot
more excellent by changing the recording format from 3gp to mp4-hq.
It's also nice to only use it to record those calls we want to record instead
of all of them.
The built-in call recorders worked nicely, however none of them had
any options or settings at all and we had to use a file explorer to be
able to play/rename/delete the recordings plus no contact pictures
so without playing the recording we would not know the name of
the caller or the person we called.
Thanks for the info about the call recorder.

Which one? Call Recorder - ACR, or Automatic Call Recorder, or other?
I use call recorder (root required) by skvalex. I selected the note 3 profile in it and it works just fine. Both sides of the call are clear and clean in the recording.

[Q] Enable REAL call recording on N6?

I'm wondering if there is a method to enable real call recording on the N6? When I say real call recording, I do not mean using some crappy app from the Google Play Store that using the mic to capture the audio coming out of the speaker.
For example, on the Samsung phones you can enable call recording and it internally records the audio right from the source without the mic needing to hear it making both sides of the call crystal clear.
Thanks!

I think we are stuck with just apps from the play store. I use call recorder pro and it does a decent job. It does great on other phones I have used that weren't running stock google. Really not sure why that is. I could set it to record from the mic and both parties sounded super but if I select that on a stock rom it says call can't be recorded. I just set it to record phone line and the person you are talking to is faint but you can still hear them. Don't know of anything else though.
Callrecorder by Skvalex! Best there is period! His app supports the Nexus 6. It records both sides of the conversation!
But does it use line audio or the mic? Will check out out either way.

I can now confirm that Callrecorder by Skvalex does capture the call line audio (stream) and just not use the microphone like many other apps.
Overall the app is pretty good. It runs as a service and it adds a button to your call dialer, well not adds it but it hovers above your call dialer screen when a call is made or received. You're able adjust the placement of the button or wherever you prefer in the settings.
So if anyone else is looking this works!

Taking notes with audio and video.

I really like Snote but I cant seem to record my sketching while recording audio...
It sounds like its simple and there should be an app out for that or an extension for Snote or something..
Anyone know of an app that can record your voice while you are drawing an explanation ?
Thanks.

It's a little awkward, but what I do is create it in two steps by creating the recorded drawing first, and play it through a couple of times so I know about what pace to speak, and then do my recording for audio, leaving a second or two blank in the beginning before I start speaking. Then I create a voice tag for that audio and place it under the drawing, or wherever it needs to be. When I am ready to demonstrate I select the audio tag first and the two second delay gives me time to tap the play drawing recording, and that way the audio aligns with the drawing as it appears.
You may hear better ideas from others, but this is the way I found to have it work.
