Hello,
I have a HTC TyTN II, and this very strange thing happens:
When on WiFi or on conversation, the phone shuts-down. When i start it after the shutdown, it shuts-down again in the
"smart mobility, R 1.65.16.25 ... screen"
and so on in a infinite loop...
I have to put it on external power supply to be able to boot again.
I have the "RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship"
Any ideas?
sounds like a new battery is needed since the tasks you mention draw more mA.
Well, I guess so...
Any directions from here?
How and from where can I get a new battery?
A lot of people use ebay i got mine from a reputable phone outlet but loads of options available.
This is where I got my last two batteries and the delivery and price and quality were the best.

Hi guys, I've recently bought a MTeoR and was loving it. I wake up this morning and LO! the battery indicator has the little X in it. (the manual says it is faulty or that there is no bettery. and i promise there is!!!)
I really, really have dont nothing to the phone since purchasing it except put music and photos on. Is there anything i can do OTHER than drive to the place i bought it (miles away)? Is this a known problem?
I have tried:
- Taking the battery out (Resetting)
- I have also done a complete restart!
- I have tried the USB cable (which was working fine) and the AC charger all over the household. It wont charge coz it thinks there's no or a faulty battery.
im really quite sad here... lol...please some1 rescue my day!!!
thanks,
-Simon
Hello everyone.
Just received my HTC TyTN II.
I just registered my device at the HTC web site, but after replacing the battery and closing the cover, the device refuses to power on.
Also, charging the battery gives a RED led, instead of the usual ORANGE or GREEN.
Anything I can do, or is it broken?
Thanks,
Loki
i had a similar issue, you need to charge your phone up. Plug it into an external power supply, not the computer, and charge it. WHen it displays a red LED, it means the battery is in a critical low. Charge it full asap
SImilar issue but call cingular and they send me replacement phone

I swapped batteries from another TyTN II and same issues. My battery in the other one, no problems.
I think it is gone. I'll contact the supplier for further instructions.
Thanks anyway.
Loki.
This happened to me as well and a few other posts on this board. It appears to be a pretty high failure rate.
I have called HTC Europe.
It is a quite common problem and the device will be considered a DOA since it is only 3 days old, and will be replaced by a service center in Belgium. Back to using my Wizard for a couple of days more.
Thanks for the info!
Loki.

When this is the case the red LED is flashing meaning battery low, if it's on all the time it's a dead phone as mine went yesterday and HTC are replacing it.
Hi All,
My kaiser white screened for a while,
now it starts up with
"Smart mobility" with no rom or radio infio (in red) show.
it then shuts off.
I can Enter the "hard reset mode"
and I can Enter BootMode
KAIS130
SPL-3.28.Hard
CPLD-8
(Tri-color)
I can falsh with differnt roms, OEM, Duttys etc. (FLASHING IN SPL_BOOT)
After a flash 100% it resets, or just shuts off.
Have Also Copying a Rom file to a SD card and loading off that. same story.
Still no Rom or Radio info Posted.
HELP!!
same here!
Hi,
since yesterday exactly the same problem here, Kaiser shows smart mobility screen, then after 3-7 seconds it turns off. It might be the battery (but the battery has been fully charged when that occured) and I measured battery voltage under load (inserted in Kaiser and during first seconds of switching on) is app. 3,7V?
Does anybody know the pin assignment of the KAIS160 battery? Outside pins is minus and plus 3,7 Volts, but what are the 2 inner pins for?
I already tried to supply 3,7 Volts to the outside connectors for battery, but the Kaiser does not show anything at all if voltage is applied.
Any ideas? Thanks,
christianji
sent to service - not repairable
Hi,
sent my device last week to the german HTC service arvato. Today I received a letter which states that the main PCB is damaged/broken by external force. I do not remember any situation where the PDA dropped or fell down or was twisted.
The tytn can not be repaired. Bad luck.
Any experience with accomodation at HTC for the replacement of my tytn II?

Has anyone brought the extended battery for there 02 HTC HD2 phone. i have just brought mine, and i cant get the thing to charge up in my phone. i have tried using the battery in my mates phone and it works fine no problem, its charges up using both our leads, but as i soon as i put it in mine, it doesn't charge, and i get a orange then green light flash every 3 secs.
Firstly i want to know if anyone else has the extended battery working in there phone??
and secondly after speaking to HTC, they said try doing the rom update and see if that works, if not then it may be a case the o2 branded phones cannot charge the phone due to software etc. is that even possible??
any Help is much appreciated,
kind regards
Shane
Funny you should mention this Shane, last week I bought the extended battery with kickstand cover and had the same "unable to charge" problem with the lights flashing green and amber.
I've sent the battery back and should get a replacement in the next day or two.
I've also upgraded to the latest stock O2 ROM from HTC's site in the mean time, so I'll let yo know how I get on when the new battery comes (it had better be here before the end of the week as I'm away for 2 weeks, hence the need for the battery!).
Of course if the new battery works, then I won't be able to say if the ROM fixed it or not, but it'd be worth applying it anyway if the battery does work.
i am at this exact moment doing the update as we speak, so i will be able to tell you if that works, but i cant see how o2 branded phone could really stop the device from using the extended battery, because after being on the phone to a very helpful guy at HTC he did say if this doesn't work, then it could be that 02 have done something to stop the extended battery from charging. but i cant see how, and see if its even possible, software blocking hardware from charging??
Edited, oh i forgot to mentioned i tried the exact same battery in my mates phone, which is bog standard HTC not branded, and it worked fine in his phone, charged no problem with both my cables and his, but as soon as i tried it in mine, it didn't work. so that would suggest that maybe its the o2 branded phones??
Woop woop it works, i have no idea why, but updating the ROM made it work. So it was never the battery it was the phone, im so happy I've been trying for the last 2 weeks non stop trying to get the thing to work or find out why it wasn't working but its all charging fine now =]
That's a really interesting one!
I do have a laptop at home where the battery will only charge until Windows starts, then it stops charging, so software can affect the ability to charge.
Definitely one for the hints and tips section!
Pesky O2 eh?
It could be that their modification of the ROM messed up the charging tables or whatever is used to work out how much charge is left in the battery, and the latest ROM fixes this.
Just off the top of my head, could it be that with a certain charge rate, it expects the battery to fill up at a set rate, and with it being twice the capacity it's charging half as quickly so throws up an error?
So the phone is saying "I know I'm getting 1A in, so the battery should be at 40%, 44%, 48%, 52%, but hang on, it's actually at 40%, 41%, 42%, something's wrong, best start flashing those lights!"
no problems with my extended battery on my o2 hd2 although.the last time it ran a stock o2 rom was about 2 weeks after i got it and that was in november LOL.
I have exactly the same problem. Lights are flashing and after about 15 hrs of continuous charging the battery state said 85%. I have contacted HTC support but no reply yet. Phone is O2 branded unlocked to all networks.
It's a documented issue with the HD2 and older ROMS. Please update your roms to the latest builds available or go the cutom rom route and it'll work like it's supposed to.

Two threads for the same problem? You could have just bumped the other one.
Thank you man! I have done the upgrade and everything works as it should. I also received a reply from HTC support saying to return tha battery to my retailer and buy a different one... So they obviously don't have a clue..

RECHARGE Reply
This might not be the same thing, but I have similar problem on my Diamond. After purchasing the machine, I quickly learned of the poor battery life that is inherent with it and proceeded to purchase some cheapo third party batteries on eBay. These worked for about a month, and now they refuse to charge many times. They'll discharge just fine, but it refuses to respond to the USB cable. It never does this on the stock battery, and I have all but given up on the third party ones.
Hopefully you have better luck than I did.
