Anyone else prefer the original xperia rom to the X2? - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

I'm talking everything from the cabs to the appearance. I think that the larger icons and scroll interface are offset by the screen's unresponsiveness and jumpiness;at least in the latest roms(i'm an x1i user). I think the tilewave panel is ugly and it along with the pixelcity panels were obviously designed to be some sort of showpiece as they're no longer quickly allowing me access to my info like the two xperia panels on x1 which I much prefer but can't find a cab for. Overall I don't really care for anything on the new x2 and can only assume it's a rush job.

how to use LARGE icons?

Hello -
I am loving my new Tilt! I am trying to go for a very simple, finger friendly interface and I'm hoping to figure out a way to use large icons on the today screen.
Does anyone know a way to increase the icon size on the today screen so that they are much larger? I am using SPB pocket plus and by only using one section I can skip the entire tabbed interface and just have a 3 or 4 big icons on the screen. The problems is just that I can't figure out how to make them bigger than the 'large' setting.
Does anyone have any ideas about this?
thanks!
check out the sticky with all the cabs in it:
Collection of the Latest Cabs for kaisers [updated 19.11.07]
In particular:
41 and 42 on the list, the HTC Large Start Menu and HTC large toolbar
Try other HTC software, most of it is designed for fingers and thumbs
Ok great, thank you! I think I'm going to flash the rom that ships with HTC and try out the HTC stuff. It's been fun flashing different versions - I'm definitely getting a good idea of what I'm looking for!
Those are definitely helpful thanks. I'm still looking for a way to have just 4 icons + one extra large phone icon on my today page. There seem to be quite a few ways to strip down the today page to just have icons (Pocket Pro seems best) but I can't find a way to have at least one of them be much bigger than the rest.

Weird layout on slide to unlock

Hi,
I'm running my tytn II on TPC Elite 6.5 (it's how I got it)
However, aside from the m2d being completely useless in landscape, the time doesn't "sit" in the correct place (image attached) on the slide to unlock screen.
Is there a fix for this?
Also, if anyone can suggest a rom good on battery, ram and with the standard 6.5 "chome" screen I'd be happy to hear from you (if it has the slide to unlock feature also I'd be happy!)
Thanks

As it has been stated more than a thousand times, M2D was ported from a device that does not have a slide out keyboard, therefore it has been hacked into landscape as far as it can. It is what it is.
That is the " mega " screen, the clock is supposed to be offset from the gray background, just look at any other mega theme.
If you do not like either, there are plenty of other UIs around that were actually meant for the Kaiser, that work in landscape. And if you search, there are 100's of SU2U themes that you can use.

I'm aware M2D is a port, that's why I said aside from it sucking in landscape. I don't use it anyway. It has been disabled on my rom.
Why on Earth would anyone think having it offset like that could look good?! Thanks for the link. I'm looking for a new rom (I say looking, haven't found one yet.. is it more difficult to flash than the wizard? It's already been flashed, so I assume it's ready to go in terms of setting it up?), but first would like to knock it back down to an official rom for a bit. Is this rom the correct one for my device? Or, as it's a dutch phone, should I use a different English version (I don't want it in Dutch you see).
As a guess i'd go into S2U2 settings and disable the Top Curtain... & bottom as it's overlapping the droid look slider...
Thank you Stylez!
Exactly what I was looking for, and it seems I can simply change the background (which is what the grey part is).

SE Panels 1&2 with 23529 build

With the new builds that have start orb at the bottom of the screen because top bar is smaller and bottom bar is bigger the panel background has to be moved a few pixels up. Does anyone know how to do this?
Hasn't anyone seen this problem before?
Im sure most of us have noticed it, but there is no fix for it (yet at least) otherwise im sure our great cooks would have made sure to add that to their roms. You're probably gonna have to either stick to the ould user interface, get used to the graphic glitch or stop using panels. Sorry for the bad news.

[Theme] [QVGA Landscape] [Standard 6.1|6.5] Smartphone Revitalize Sliding Panel Theme

Hi guys,
So I'm one of those guys still living in the dark age of Windows Mobile Standard. I don't see many good themes posted for good ole non-touchscreen phones, so I thought I'de give it a shot.
Critiques are encouraged!
More information to come...
Requirements
Windows Mobile Standard 6.1 or 6.5
QVGA Landscape device
Installation
After unzipping, look at the folder names for instructions
.
i have broke my last smartphone a while ago (and now all my smartphones are died)
but imo your theme is perfect and nice... very cool text on screen (great chars, slim font)
i love the themes without useless icons ^^
maybe you could add a titanium slider (or only an underlined graphic to the active panel)
the page counter is a little "oldish" maybe you could redesign it and move to another position
and for least a thing (i think is impossible): make the long titles of panels sticking/sliding to read the whole text in it (e.g. in the calendar panel you could read only the first part of the appointment infos, if u get it orrizontal sliding you could read it all like the music info panels) but for me this is impossible
so now i haven't a device to test it, but i like, nice job! thanks to sharing
ot
are you still living in the dark age of Windows Mobile Standard? i wish that times return for me
i miss my old winmo NONtouch... actually i hate to have to tap with my finger on these little display (e.g. i was texting on my htc wings 50sms/hour , now my frineds joke me cuz it seem that i cannot write in a correct italian language...)
non touchscreen are the best phones imo but actually they are lost in the old technologies limbo... and i doubt thay could come out again...

Thanks for the compliments!
I'm working on adding a titanium slider right now to see how it looks, but I designed it to not require a slider. Text on the currently selected panel is white and text on unselected panels is transparent.
I'm still trying to figure out what (if anything) I'm going to do with the page counter.
As for the long titles extending off the page... well that was sort of the goal. It was inspired by the Zune HD and Windows Phone 7 interface. 99% of the time it shows enough text for you to understand, and in the rare case you do need to see more you can always click it. I think horizontal scrolling/sliding for long text would be really cool, but I have no idea (yet) how to make that happen. If anyone know a way to do this, let me know.
i see...
the orizzontal sliding for the title is a "higher sky" and personally the cropped title text is cool
and i love the zunehd inspi.
apps and web apps panels are fantastic
(a suggestion, for the counterpage maybe you could remove the numbers and left only the arrows, white for the next page, transparent if no page avalaible)
all my compliments
I created a version with a slider. If any smartphone users make it in here and would like me to post it just let me know.
Hi gtg456x. I got a new touch phone recently because my contract for the BJ2 was up. I've always loved the performance of Sliding panel plugin, and I can't wait to try this theme. It looks uncluttered, so I think I can finally put some wallpapers that didn't used to work on the standard icon-filled theme. Thanks for sharing and for reviving my interest in the BJ2 phone
this is an awesome theme....it's too bad that I don't know how to apply anything that isn't a .cab file!
I know your probably thinking I'm stupid, but I have no idea of how to install this theme onto my blackjack 2. It looks so great, and I would really like to use it on a daily basis. Please Help!!!

I have install before the titanium panels?
With a black background and this theme is terrific. Almost Zune-esque. Thanks! Here's a screen
how to install a certain part?
can u please point me the way how to install the files that are in...
Optional images for link panels (you will have to create your own to match your links)
i have managed to install all the rest but need some help.
Now if you would port the landscape cpr to a portrait cpr, I would be happy, because I wouldn't have to do it myself (although I made myself a similar theme a couple of months ago, but I didn't release it to the public )...
like it about to put it on my jack

Looks like you forgot to install the font though.
Wasn't expecting this thread to get revived. Shouldn't be too hard to make it into a cab file for those who are having trouble.
blee
i know you should had posted this in the windowsmobile standard section you would had got so many people here instead of windowsmobile touch screen section .Its mostly a touch screen section then for both touch and type of phones.

WM6.5.5 + X1 Goodies?

It's just my simple question, is there WM6.5.5 ROM with X1 goodies?
Please let me know...
No X2 programs nor HTC at all...
Unfortunately there are none. Part of the issue is that the X1 panel manager and panels only work well with the WM6 style upper and lower offsets due to the difference 6.5.3 has with the bigger buttons and smaller upper taskbar. The cleanest Xperia style ROMS are Gtrabs R3 (most stable), Gtrabs R7, and Jerplea's X2 (most upto date). There could be some improvement in this area if the SE Aspen's software/ROM was circulating here, and a cook picked it up. Unfortunately very few cooks have gone down the keeping true to Xperia-ish roms path.
Yeah ASPEN... I'm planning to replace "my super total + super faulty X2" w/ it. But since I'm in Indonesia right now. I can't buy it, Aspen is not released yet.
