Well as the title says I am in desperate need of help. Now I have just gotten the Touch Diamond and I am not happy with they way things look. I liked the phone by looking at all the Youtube videos and decided this was my next phone. Well little that I knew every video was either a different carrier style phone or has been modded. Now I am looking to do the same thing, but I am looking for someone who is experienced in this field to give me some one on one support. Now I am not a complete noob when it comes to computers but when it comes to the phone yes I am have never messed with modding a phone. This is my first PDA phone. So if someone can either send me a PM or just reply here that would be great. My main goal is to get the most out of my phone. Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you guys soon. Thanks

There is a ton of info on this site and on ppcgeeks.com so the best thing to do is read, read, read. Then you can learn what you like and decide what you want to do. Good Luck!!
Thanks. I have been to numerous sites and they all say what the stuff can do but there is no Tutorial on how to add stuff and config it. Thats where I am running into problems. I would like to change my TF3D screen off this purple color. I was able to finally get my weather to work in my area instead of major cities. Now I just want to mess with the look of the phone. I have the Diamond TF3D Config installed but all the themes I want to install on the phone wont come up in the Path folder. Thats another area I could not find a Tutorial on. If I had one of those or at least a video of how to do it that would be great.

flash a energy rom, they are great out of the box and they have a custom look to them. just follow the on screen instructions and you cant go wrong. just make sure you flash hardspl first.
Ok, Thanks. Now I know I have seen some out there that wont work for my phone. Can you tell me which one will work. I have a Verizon Diamond and I dont want to brick it.

I don't think there is a HardSPL/Unlocker for the Verizon version.
You may only be able to tweak your shipped rom.
Ok, well I am not having a problem I would like to get solved. Once I get this solved I am all set. Also do I have to unlock my phone to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5? Here is a Link to my problems with the weather.

Hi I just upgraded to an at&t tilt. I have been reading these forums to get some customization ideas. Now I just want everyone to know this is my first ppc, just had regular cell phones before this. I have a general idea of what to do but I could use a little help.
What I want to do is get the regular black htc homescreen plug and the home screen customizer. I need help getting ahold of them and installing. From what I have seen so far I just need to find the cabs to dowload directly to my phone, or get them in a zip file and sync them from my pc. If I sync from my pc were do I put them on my phone to access the cabs and install?
If anyone can help me out it would be awsome. I need to find the files and how to install them, unless they are cabs i can download directly to the tilt. Also if anyone has any other cool apps they think would help I would like to hear about them; I will probably get pie scroll fix and some other helpful stuff too.
Thanks for all your help.
Here are the versions I'm using, with no problems. Alternatively you can go here: http://www.pocketemu.com/news.html
You can put the cabs anywhere on the phone (in any folder - my documents for example), or on a sd card then just run from there.
edit:
the home customizer didn't upload but you can get it from the link i posted
Thanks for the speedy reply!
Thanks I will install them and hopefully it will come out the way I want it. Can u put a screenshot of your homescreen so i can see what it looks like? Oh and do u have any recommendations for other tings to make my stock tilt better?
kaiser tweak
Does anyone know if the kaiser tweak already has the home screen and customizer with it, or will I have to install that seperate?

just flash a new rom.
Flash a new rom
To tell u the truth thats what i wanted to do was just flash it with the kaiser rom but I am kind of afraid to do that because i dont know much about how it will work, what it will change, if it will still work tight with at&t and i dont want to mess up my phone and void the warranty. If i just add plugins and apps I dont have to worry about it as much. Plus I have no idea how to do it.
Here you go boss
http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383904
I just got my tilt a week ago, and have probably flashed it at least a dozen times by now playing with settings and trying out different ROMs.
The only problem I've had with AT&T was when i put an incompatible radio on, my sound stopped working. I could still make calls, I just couldn't hear anything.
A reflash fixed that. Other than that I haven't had any probelms
Just read through the wikis and other peoples posts and everything will(should) turn out fine
??
the link takes me to a page that say rotator admin login?
well I will have to read through the wikis. what are wikis anyway? lol!
here is the link to "G.W.E.N.I" which is basically just a big collection of helpful information/links
are there any better or newer versions of what is posted?
the backilght does not work on this version of htc home
First off I want to thank EVERYONE on this forum for the work they do. Know that people like me really REALLY appreciate it... I have a better working ROM then the default one now, the radio was updated and working nicely but i HATE the splash screen with a passion...
I tried to follow the directions to make my own but i keep getting errors...
anyways, if i put up a picture can someone make it for me please? the screen you see first... as its booting up.
Thank you!!
Hi:
I have no clue how to make a splash screen (sorry ), but if no one is able to help you make one, you can always use Kaiser Tweaks to disable the splashcreen.
I know this is not exactly what you had in mind, but it may help.
If you are interested in doing that, just look up Kaiser Tweaks here on the board. It is a free and very useful app, which will allow you to make several wonderful changes to you phone.
Anyway, hope this helps
Here You Go
Here is your splash screen. Unzip the file, plug your kaiser into usb cable, and run customruu, which is contained in the folder.
edit: I think you should have hardspl installed before flashing this
Thank you SOOOOO much! Mine is already taken care of with the HARDSPL thing. It has a custom ROM on it that one of the guys on here I'm friends with helped me to set up. the GPS doesnt work all that well but other then that its a LOT more functional.
I'm semi-retarded and could not figure out how to make that customruu thing with the picture I wanted. thanks again.
Have a read of this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334907&highlight=Splash+Screen
It explains the process it quite simply.

I was wondering if it is possible to downgrade back to the original panel manager, and if anyone has the installer for it? I recently downloaded and installed the R3A panel manager, and since then, my X1 has been freezing having errors much more often.
Can anyone help me out here?
It should be possible .. panelmanager only occupies one folder in program files .. replacing all the files should work. Rename the old dir to avoid deleting active EXE.
However I don't have the old files anymore.
I want to do the same.
Where can I find the old Panel Manager?
Sign me up for this as well! Frustrating to get a "we're sorry" all the time.
as far as im aware you just uninstall the updated pannel manager and all will go back to normal.
i too dislike the updated version.

You just uninstall it? Doesn't that remove the x-panel functionality?
pm me a mail so i can send you the old panel manager (folder). You only have to terminate the posses and then replace the folder.
sorry guys, but what's exactly wrong with the new one? I have no problem with mine and it actually works faster and more fluently.

After installing the new one, my phone gives me the "we're sorry" screen, and continues "a problem has occurred with PanelContainer.exe"
Ends up with the phone freezing completely, and a soft-reset is required.
Yes, if you unistall the panel manager, the panel interface is gone too.
The problem is, it seems like every time I push the panel button, the thing freezes, or it comes up with a slew of errors, as about 3 programs crash.
Honestly, who put that stupid 'upgrade' here? It's hardly stable at all. What is it, an alpha version? If it were up to me, I'd remove it from the site, because it's more trouble than it's worth, and has nearly made my X1 unusable. I'm considering a hard reset to get things back to normal.

Probably you don't read before installing something. Go here and read: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498934
You have to install ActiveX Deployment first...
lol... look junior... this thing works perfect. do as guy above said. damn... You should be more grateful for having so much extra stuff for free.
Anyway, at least I installed ActiveX_Deployment_signed.CAB before the new panelmanager. The attitude ain't helping, "senior".
ok
the thing is that he should READ MORE before moaning. come on. why so many people cannot live without spoonfeeding????????? why should we agree to read his rants??
I DID install the ActiveX deployment, thank you very much.
It does not work 'perfect', just because one person out of many doesnt have constant problems with it.
If you dont have something helpful to contribute to the topic, dont bother replying. What exactly is it that we're supposed to be reading. I got it from this topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498934
The first post has nothing but a download link, and the 2nd has about 2 lines saying that it's been tested (hard to believe) and urges people to upgrade in caps lock no less.
We're not a bunch of idiots who cant read. And we're not moaning, but if shell out a good deal of money for a smart phone, and you install some update that screws up half of the features, you'd want some answers too.
I install everything but panel cause too many problem. Hard reset mine coming up
Try this one
install it in device then soft reset ....
stock R2a panel manager ......

I think if this worked then people wouldnt be looking for the R2A panel manager.
I had same problesm as many getting the new R3A cabs to work, and as a result had to just hard reset the phone, after this the phone has been working pretty stable. The Media 2 Panel didnt install, and to be honest until i can easily make playlists it crap to me.
Another thing, I dont know what it is about those that have been on the forum a long time compared to us noobs. Theres no need to talk down to other people, just because a person has made 3 posts, doesnt make them an idiot.
This whole R3A stuff thats come out, probably works fine for those experienced in developing etc... but for those that arent it is difficult for them to get working, like myself. And although this a forum is for the hardcore developers, and not noobs like me, please understand that many like myself really appreciate the work you do here.
If werent for this place, I'd have sent the phone back already and waited for the Idou. So keep it up and be kind to us noobs

The second post has to lines ,but it also says that you have ti install ActiveX deployment FIRST. I was just trying to help
Also noone told you to do this update. Those cabs are not SE official updates and there are beta too. It is up to you to take the risk...
I did install the ActiveX thing. I read and understood the post just fine.
Part of the problem is, I had no idea if it was official or not, if it was a beta, or anything. Had I known, I likely would not have installed it, or at least not been surprised when I had problems. If it's beta, or if it's unofficial, it should that instead of "DEFINITIVELY WORTH UPGRADING!!!" Then all of us who read the post as you all keep saying to, would know. It's obviously misleading, I bet a lot of people thought they were getting a stable piece of software.
Hi everyone! I recently bought a T-mo Wing on ebay and as it's my first pda phone I did exactly the same every newbie does: I've messed things up.
The first problem was that I started to download and install every app I thought I would use. Soon realized that IN FACT I would use 10% of all that ans started uninstalling things. Till there, I was good, but then I found pocket mechanic pro and its "registry tweaker & cleanup" killed my voice command and made the phone loop forever on bootup unless I remove the memory card. Besides, I have memory shortage problems and lots of things I will never use like myFaves, t-zones, tons of icons and silly images .... So my questions are ....Is there any T-mo "official" ROM with all the T-mo stuff removed?? I don't have problems with the rest of the apps and bricking the phone is not an option: I'm latin american!! used wing was really a financial effort for me!! The second question would be: Is there any way to restore the registry keys that pocket mechanic erased?? I know the answers might have been already posted but I've been browsing the forums for about 6 hours with no success ..... Can anyone help me on this??
Thanks
Wow.... really long

The easiest way to go back is to do a hard reset. (Hold the two softkeys and press the soft reset key.) As far as "official" ROM, there isn't, but there are a lot of third party ROMs. If you hardSPL your phone (which runs the slight risk of bricking your phone) then you brick-PROOF your phone.
Wow!! I can't believe you ...I mean YOU, took som time to answer my post!! I read lots of stuff here made by you. Thanks man! I'm really honored.
The thing is that if I hard reset my wing all the T-mo stuff will be there again, and some of it is non removable. There are lots of pictures and icons that I won't ever use. What if I take the latest T-mo ROM and delete all that without modifying anything else?? I mean, no t-zones, no my faves and no TONS of avatar pictures.... would that be possible?? Again, thanks for answering

lol. Thanks for thinking so highly of me.
It's possible, you have to dump the ROM and then recook it, though.
You could also wait for my SuperJustKitchen and build your own custom ROM. ^_^ But either way, you HAVE to HardSPL. There are no ROMs that can be flashed with the stock SPL other than the stock one.
That's exactly what I'm going to do!! I'll wait for your SuperJustKitchen and remove all unneeded stuff from the latest official T-mo Rom. In the meantime, I will try to recover my voice command without hard resetting just for fun. I really don't need it because my spoken english is horrible and by the time it worked, almost never recognized what I said . Anyway, it really annoys me that a supposed registry cleanup made by pocket mechanic messed up the system that way. The Wizcode forum has a solution that actually works just for the full version of MVC. Nor upgrade nor OEM are fixed by that "patch". I would like to know if there's any way to decompile it and make the corrections manually. It's supposed to restore some deleted registry keys but I couldn't find wich ones ....Would that be possible??
If it's a cab, it can turned into a OEM/EXT package which lets you see the registry keys by themselves.
Sorry for the delay....
Hi again! It was not a .CAB .... It was a [email protected] .exe file. Tried to open with winRAR and 7zip but with no success. Finally i found the dump of the .reg file that voice command uses. I was not able to import it (there are some path errors and I know NOTHING about reg scripting), so i had to write all the keys and values manually. It worked!!!! After a soft reset voice command was there! After that I disabled it because my english sucks and VC could not understand what i said ..... but still works!! Still waiting for your kitchen to make a new ROM for my wing .... Thanks again for taking the time to answer me ...
I don't know well, but...
Maybe you can have good luck in hard-resetting and do not enter into customization, but soft-resetting.
Another way is going into Extended ROM and analizing the .cab files there, and erasing some of them (better if you save them into another place).
Please wait till someone "better than me" will confirm those data I told.
On the other way, if you don't like T-Mo ROMs the best you can do is Hard-SPL and flashing a new radio+ROM. You by yourself realized Ivan has good ROM's. And the one I'm using now is also good.
Well basically ive just got my new HTC diamond today and was looking at installing a few apps, programs and themes ect.
But after spending 2 hours browsing the forum im just getting more and more confused by the minute about what you actually have to do
Can anyone link me or tell me how i go about getting programs themes and app's on to my diamond?? im mainly wanting to change the home screen (customize it)
Help Much Appreciated.
Jack
Right after further searching i found i need "TouchFlo 3D" i downloaded this and put it in the program files folder then go to install it on my phone and nothing happens, asif i dont even click it .. please can someone help!!
Jack,
Ur diamond out of the box already has TF3D, go to start>settings>today and choose on the second tab ('items') TF3D, click the X in the upper right corner and then your homescreen will change to the one with the nice flip clock on it.
But why don't u start with the manual that came with your diamond?
Get to know the device a little more, use it for awhile and then decide what you want to change to let it better suit your needs.
For tons of information and good applications you're absolutely in the right place here, though it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll figure it out i'm sure (cuz i did to and i'm not a whizkid whatsoever..lol...)
Have fun with your diamond, it's a great device with lotsa possibilities

Well its not actually out of the box i meant new as in ive just got it
Got it off my dad as hes just upgraded, anyways after searching even more i decided to have a little play.
i followed this guide :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
And used this rom :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=607860
But im getting numerous problems, at first it worked spot on with no problems then after about an hour i went to see if i had a message and it had froze .. now it just keeps turning itself on and off all the time and basically hard resetting itself as every time it turns off i have to do the stylus alignment and date ect.
What am i doing wrong?!
You're doing nothing wrong, but you skipped a step that's crucial when flashing a Diamond:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290&highlight=mtty
If you perform mtty before you flash a new rom it will most probably solve all the weird errors such as you describe.
Hi, i tryed that but i dont have windows 7 just XP so its not compatable
sure it is compatible, it's even easier to use with XP cuz you don't have to change the drivers.
Be sure to read the first post of the thread carefully, lol, look at the big sentence in red:
NOTE: WORKS WITHOUT DRIVER INSTALL ON XP
Your right its working perfect now, but the tom only came with one keyboard option, and its not "qwerty" can i get an add on or something so i can get the other option's on my device (qwerty, compact, phone keypad)
Thanks for all your help Nirak
Just tryed two other ROM's and there both the same it shows in the screen shots that you can change between the different ones but i keep getting the same keyboard layout no matter what ROM i use, like it wont let me change it to qwerty or phone keypad
Could someone please help me, as its getting quite frustrating now.
Thanks Jack
