Custom rom proposal

Hi,
I've been looking how to add phone and improve graphics but it seems to need some intense DLL hacking for now. So I would like to release a more personalised rom.
I propose the following:
Remove media player+ microsoft live
Add opera 9.5+htc X-button +gpstools+taskmanager
If you like this setup, it leaves 28 Mb free on storage. Please comment on this, and what you would remove add.
I have a french localised rom using this setup if someone want's it.

If you put opera remove explorer? and what about to execute cab files.

I like old version of Pocket Informant (that consumed tiny memory, not the touch version)
I like old version of Opera (again, smaller memory)

Please add SoftKeyApplet too ;-) And Polish language!

I cannot publish any language without this language rom dump.
as for softkey, it's more or less a one time app, not very worthy of precious storage space...

Because some prefers opera mini (lighter), perhaps everyone can choose and install with cab ?

yes the beta is buggy when you install it the reminders & sms sound will stop working

How's abouts the Firefox for windows mobile?
I know that the development was stopped, but how was the beta???
...or the mini browser from microsoft labs (Deepfish)?

More space, more space in this rom because I would like to use HTC Shift with TT7 or Garmin Mobile XT on WM site...

File Explorer REALLY needs more functionality.
How about File Explorer Extention?
I found it HERE on xda-developers.
It is small and really makes File Explorer usable.
furthermore: The smaller, The better.
Thaihugo did a nice rom what I liked there was:
* GPS in snapvue side
* HTC X-button 1.5
* HTCGPStool
* DotFred's TaskManager
* USBtools for connecting to vista
I would like a SMALL app that would make it possible to place shorcuts (icons) on the todayscreen. We have such a HUGE todayscreen. It is a pitty not to use it. Snapvue itself should be kicked offcourse! I is rather useless with realvga.
I do not like opera as a webbrowser, but if it is smaller I will be happy with that. (I also don't really like PocketExplorer... so....)

[REQ] Thai support

Anyone have a cab which will support thai language in touch pro? (I have the fuze) I found one on diamond thread it won't let me install. Any help would be much appreciated

You can download freeware from http://www.cn.co.th/download.asp scroll down and choose version 1.17
It works well with TF3D and opera but only thing is some song don't show Thai character and line breaking is not very good so I bought the professional version for just about $23 to support Thai developer.

I'm trying to download thai fonts for my wm6.1 phone. the one that Peepoo suggestted is for PocketPC2000, are you sure that will work w/ the newest windows mobile?

Thai WinCE I believe as the Thai market touch pro comes with this software & has English/Thai hardware keyboard.
Another software was Thai-G !

some apps like wm6.1

1) does exist the sms chat system for windows mobile 6.0 like the wind mob 6.1..
2)does exist the sliding pannel theme for wind mob 6.0?

1 i tried some thread sms on app, but they didn't work
2 chome is availible only on wm6.1, but you could try the carousel from samsung i600... search the forums...

they doesn't work!......ok it doesn't matter....i will put the wm6.0 without this functionality.....thank you znial

there are some themes that copy the sliding panel for who doesn't get the wm6.1, they are really cool, but i think that the chome is better...
you can search for those themes on nectun or here in the vox subforums...

Touch flo and Manila version how to know ?

Hi all, i'm sorry to write for this question, but i got a Tytn II just from 2 weeks, and i don't know which software i have on it, which version of Touch flo or Manila (if 2d or 3d), there is away to know the version of the software ?
Is There a way to update it if it is old ?

My tytn ii is WM 6.1 PRO ITA CE 5.2.19212 Build 19212.1.0.3
I looked in Installed software but i can find only the software i installed, nothing about Touch Flo or Manila.
I suppose i have Manila, because i have the clock and several icons where i can find contacts, programs, weather, but i don't have the internet icon.
I found Manila version 1.20.19131530.00 at this link

but i don't know if it is good for the tytn 2, then i suppose it is in english but if i want it in italian there is something to change or install ?
If i install it, it will overwrite the installed Manila, right ?
If i uninstall it (because don't work or i don't like) the old one will be recovered automatically ?
I read about Manila 2D and 3D, which is the difference and where i found the 3D version ?

In the Settings Tab on M2D will say TouchFlo version.

Hi stylez, the problem is that i can't find the Tab you are talking about,
i just see date and hour (digits), then the icons, one for contact, one for weather, one for programs, but i can't see the icon for the settings
this is why i don't know which version i have i can see it

Did you try to drag your finger to the right (and see how the icons are travelling to the left at the same time) ? There you'll find, usually at the last position, the settings tab.
Excuse me for this question, but:
For other questions, did you do an extensive search here to know how Manila works or how a Windows Mobile device works ?

hi all, and sorry but i discovered that i have HTC Home only infact in Today Elements, i have Date, HTC Home, Messages, and HtcHomePlug, so i suppose no Manila is installed on my device.
Infact i can't move to left or right, so the Home, Contact, Weather, Program and Phone Icons are of HTC Home and not of Manila.
Now if i want to install Manila then i can remove it if it doesn't like ?
is there an italian localization of Manila for Kaiser ?
is the herg repository for the english version only, right ?

[Q]Need your opinions/help about SE x1

Hi everyone
I need your help/opinions about SE x1 windows mobile 6.1 because i'am just new at this phone so i have many things to learn.. i saw some amazingly cool applications here but not worked at my phone properly like EzInput keyboard, i like that application but it doesn't work right, it appears small on screen,, can someone help me? thank's in advance..

1.what is SIP?
2.what is the best windows mobile version for touchflo 3d?
3.what is best version of touchflo 3d with landscape mode?
4.SPB mobile shell panel is like touchflo 3d in today panel?
5.what is SPL and ROM do i have to change/upgrade it to install applications?

EZinput probably doesnt work because you need the WVGA version of it. Your phone screen has a WVGA resolution.
SPL and ROM, you can go to the Xperia X1 HardSPL thread and find more information about it.
I dont think theres any "best" version of windows or TouchFlo3D because they all have their pro and cons. You can just try it by yourself and see which one you like the most.
TouchFlo3D and SBP shell have nothing to do with each other. They both change your today screen though. You wouldnt need a ROM change/update if the software you're trying to install is compatible with your current one. Judging from what you said, your current ROM is running Windows Mobile 6.1. So you should be looking for WinMo 6.1 applications that are compatible with your WVGA resolution.

thanks XtriFe for answering it, i saw some touchflo 3d but forgot the version, in the instructions for installing, one of it say's change the SIP something, what is that SIP or SIP selector..? thanks again

The easiest way to get Touch Flo on the X1 is to flash a new ROM with TouchFlo. There are helpful tutorials on the ROM development section on how to download and flash custom ROMs.
SIP can stand for 2 things, either as Soft Input Panel, meaning input apps like the onscreen keyboard and handwriting recognition, or Seesion Initiation Protocol, usually in connection with VOIP programs. For your question, it's most probably referring to the first one.
SPB mobile shell is an app to customize the toda screen, and there are versions of it that make our Today screen look like the TouchFlo interface, but you're not limited to TouchFlo (see Windows Mobile Development and Hacking>Themes for SPB MS themes/layouts)
