I need your help/opinions about SE x1 windows mobile 6.1 because i'am just new at this phone so i have many things to learn.. i saw some amazingly cool applications here but not worked at my phone properly like EzInput keyboard, i like that application but it doesn't work right, it appears small on screen,, can someone help me? thank's in advance..
list off questions
1.what is SIP?
2.what is the best windows mobile version for touchflo 3d?
3.what is best version of touchflo 3d with landscape mode?
4.SPB mobile shell panel is like touchflo 3d in today panel?
5.what is SPL and ROM do i have to change/upgrade it to install applications?
someome pls help me thank's in advance
EZinput probably doesnt work because you need the WVGA version of it. Your phone screen has a WVGA resolution.
SPL and ROM, you can go to the Xperia X1 HardSPL thread and find more information about it.
I dont think theres any "best" version of windows or TouchFlo3D because they all have their pro and cons. You can just try it by yourself and see which one you like the most.
TouchFlo3D and SBP shell have nothing to do with each other. They both change your today screen though. You wouldnt need a ROM change/update if the software you're trying to install is compatible with your current one. Judging from what you said, your current ROM is running Windows Mobile 6.1. So you should be looking for WinMo 6.1 applications that are compatible with your WVGA resolution.
thanks XtriFe for answering it, i saw some touchflo 3d but forgot the version, in the instructions for installing, one of it say's change the SIP something, what is that SIP or SIP selector..? thanks again
The easiest way to get Touch Flo on the X1 is to flash a new ROM with TouchFlo. There are helpful tutorials on the ROM development section on how to download and flash custom ROMs.
SIP can stand for 2 things, either as Soft Input Panel, meaning input apps like the onscreen keyboard and handwriting recognition, or Seesion Initiation Protocol, usually in connection with VOIP programs. For your question, it's most probably referring to the first one.
SPB mobile shell is an app to customize the toda screen, and there are versions of it that make our Today screen look like the TouchFlo interface, but you're not limited to TouchFlo (see Windows Mobile Development and Hacking>Themes for SPB MS themes/layouts)
Magkano bili mo sa X1 mo?
thank's harvey

I really like all these windows mobile 6.5 roms that are popping up for experia, but i cannot justify using one without the ability to use WVGA fix. I use Picodrive and Finalburn along with Tomtom 6 and some other software, none of which work without WVGAFix3 which itsself is said not to work with 6.5.
There must be a load of people now with 6.5 roms, that like this software so how does everybody else do it? Or does everybody really just stop using their favorite software in favor of a 6.5 rom?
I have found nothing in the WVGAFix thread.
C'mon guys.....i cant be the only one faced with this dilemma?
Even if you use WM 6.5 (like me ;-) ) you can use WGAFix3. It doesnt give a black bar after use - but the Apps work after activating WGAFix - and before they didnt worked.
Have fun.

Hello,
I am also looking for a program like WVGAFix work on my WM6.5, I have a program need resolution 240 x 320 to be worked on my WM6.5 machine with resolution 480 x 800.
Please help! Thanks!
If anyone comes up with anything let me know as well ....
Maybe you should ask in the General section? Surely X2 is not the only WV mobile with WVGA resolution. And tell us if you find anything.
(I don't have my X2 at the moment and my Kaiser has QVGA resolution.)
HI
Im a noob and im getting the blackstone, and want the "best" version of WM 6.5 and also be able to chose back to touchflo 3D menu. Which rom should i download and flash to use? Seriously a noob.
Thank you.
The best thing to do is try all of WM 6.5 here... All of our chef here is great! It's up to your taste...
Im using Miri's WM 6.5 and it's stable and fast. You can also try Energys 6.5 if you want fast with some very nice eye candy...
It's all up to you. Enjoy flashing and read Crackwhore's Guide about flashing so you won't get any problems.
Cheers,
Jaypeev_9
Thanks for fast reply!
Will i be able to chose back and forth to the regular touch flo 3D menu with boths of those? I dont really understand, does the touch flo menu disappear on some if i update to WM 6.5?
And also do you recomend a HSPL?
Thanks.
for example.
Miri did 3 versions (maybe 4 now?) Xtralight (wm6.5 alone), Standard (6.5 with some manila stuff) and premium (full manila +wm6.5) i personally use xtralight as its pretty much bare, allowing to add the stuff YOU want.
after goign to 6.5 i rarely get a ROM with manila in as i have become to hate it!
Its all down to preference i flashed alot of different roms before staying with miri so just try! but as he said ^^ please rea the guide first and as always backep your data!

TouchFlo 3D is just a program installed normally by HTC on these devices. WM6.5 can exist with or without TouchFlo 3D (Manila). You may want to read first in the specific ROM description if it includes Manila or not. If you want to still be able to use Manila, chose one that includes it. Then, you can easily avtivate it by going to Start/Settings/Today/Items, and there deactivate Titanium and activa TouchFLo.
Yes, you will want to use HSPL or USPL. Its not recommended, its mandatory. Read more about this, it will help you for the future, since the story goes the same for all HTC devices.
Thank you!

A standard answer to this question from my side is here.
Not much related to the main question but:
I am still sticking with 6.1 because i like the HTC Manilla start menu replacement over Windows default programs menu, and with all 6.5 ROM's there is always the Win6.5 HoneyComb start menu.
is there any way to re-enable HTC manilla programs on WinMo6.5?
I am not really sure if I understand your question correctly...
Manila is the user i/f of HTC, not a part of WinMo.
For some older Manila versions, there exist cab files to install HTC apps on WinMo.
However, speed will be much faster if you flash a ROM with WinMo and Manila inside.
There are quite a few nice 6.5 ROMs with either Manila 2.1 or 2.5 - while you
might prefer 2.1 because this one usually has the program tab separate.
On the other hand, WinMo 6.1 ROMs still feel faster, imho, and the latest ones
do come with the latest Manila 2.1, too.
What i meant is the start menu (upper left windows icon) of the Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5, in the 6.1 Manilla can replace it with it's applications launcher, which is usually just a tab of manilla, while on WinMo 6.5 i found no roms that can replace it, WinMo6.5 will still have it's start menu programs launcher...
Well, ok then.
WinMo 6.5 does not have any start menu which is comparable to 6.1 - it is replaced by the honeycomb screen.
If you do not like Manila, but search a program launcher like the tab in Manila, you might try other apps for WinMo, such as PointUI.

It's the contrary, i like only Manilla and don't want windows's honeycomb, i want a way to let manilla replace the honeycomb as it did in winmo 6.1.

Well, that´s what all ROMs with Manila do.
Whatever you install, as long as it comes with Manila, no need to use WinMo
(at least in most cases).

Not all, the roms that have WinMo 6.1 and Manilla it can be done, the manilla will replace the standard start menu with it's programs tab, removing the tab from the tabs bar. While on roms with 6.5 (at least those up to 1 month ago) didn't do it, the start button opened the WinMo6.5 honey comb even with Manilla installed and working, the programs launcher is just a tab on Manilla....

nope, that is not always the case

Whatever you mean, mate.
Maybe it is just a misunderstanding here. Just keep searching what you need, and either you will find a ROM, or a registry tweak.
I think what he wants is for the WM6.5 start button to launch the Manila programs tab, and not the 6.5 honeycomb start menu.
McByte: older 6.1 TF3D ROMs (or some of the newer ones, depending on the chef) launch the default 6.1 Start Menu (like Windows 98/XP) when you click on the start button.
You can ask the chefs if the can integrate the Programs tab to the WM6.5 start button, but I don't think it's possible. That feature comes from the Manila it was ripped from (e.g. Rhodium/Topaz vs. TP2/Leo). HTC provided that feature since the default 6.1 start menu was not finger friendly. 6.5 start menu is, so they didn't bother putting that in.
If I install the Tochflo3D on X1 will i be able on uninstall it...also, on youtube, there is a video that uses Touchflo3d on landscape mode too..but that phone doesent have X1 panels anymore....
Also, excuse my illiteracy, but what is manilla?? is it another name for TF3d??
what version is the TF3D i have...(ive downloaded it from one of the threads here only, from a mediashare link)
last Q, how easy wil it be to uremove in case of some screwup....
Thanx a lot to any1 who helps me...
Can i use this on WM 6.5.....
If i upgrade to 6.5... can i still use the TouchFlo 3d...
thanx
Touchflo3d (also known as Manila) is an interface, a skin - like SPB's mobile shell.
The individual panels can be understood as different "pages" of a skin too (even though they are individual applications loaded as needed). So, really I'd say that you would use one or the other. I never enjoyed the panels, mainly due to the slow transition (having to go to the panel picker, then wait for the chosen panel to load)
For that matter, to me Mobile Shell feels like an add-on, you can very easily get to the bare bones of the Windows interface. Manila (at least cooked into ROMs) is a very good interface, and doesn't feel like an add-on, nor does it need time to transition between its "pages".
I've never installed Manila on its own, but as there are plenty of Manila cabs available, you can install & uninstall as needed.
You can also disable the panel manager from starting up on reboots, and disable the panel manager button too
thanx a lot Paul C, i really appreciate your help. From what I understand, the cabs available arent the actual touchflo3d OS, the ones coming with the actual HTC fones, am i right?
Touchflo is not OS, it is just interface that sits on the home screen. It is the same windows in HTC phones, too.
I would recommend flashing custom ROM instead of installing touchflo, because everything is A LOT faster in cooked ROMs.
I am a little confused..there are so many ROMs in the forums...one of the Youtube videos showed X1 with a complete HTC OS..like jkoljo said, it was a much faster..so which is that ROM..allso can i have a OEM ROM..all of the ROMs here are cooked...some official ones??
also, its quite a cliche question, but what is the best ROM for X1..i want a stable, with all the apps working, also, preferbly ladnscape shud work and it should be a panel install also..thanx a ton!
if you dont want to flash a rom, then i would recommend spb mobile shell 3.5.1. you can customize it to have a combination of touchflo and android.
downside, it cost money but well worth it.
SPB mobile shell
Spb mobile shell 3.5.1 is great. You can try before you buy from SPB website or you can use the slightly older free korean version with english hack, OR you can download the 2.x version for free as a panel from Sony Ericsson panel page. at any rate its well worth the money if you do decide to buy it.
Hello.
I have noticed on the X1 that when I type an SMS it lags and is slow to respond (e.g. it fails to recognise when I double space) yet when I use intenet explorer and type a URL then it works fine. Is there a replacement software I can install that replaces the stock SMS software?
Are there any good themes for this phone that makes it look like WM 6.5 or WP7?
Thanks.
