I See this great product from samsung....
A USB Display witth 7" inches...
Anyone knows a software that can simulate the same using my athena?
I find this page http://www.displaylink.com/shop/index.php?product=3 , with software.
If we can emulate a display link compatible monitor in windows mobile we can use our athena as an additional monitor....
Thanks
Innobec SideWindow 1.02
Do a Google search for Innobec SideWindow 1.02
This is older software but, if it works, should get you what you're looking for.
You're supposed to be able to "use your stylus like a mouse" which I presume to mean that the touch screen will work with Windows.
I haven't used this software, so I can't vouch for it. Found it on PocketGear for about $15.

I try it.
But the screen is flip upside down.
Thanks anyway..
Did you try to rotate the screen from the Athena?
I have downloaded the trial version but it didn't work with windows VISTA and 7 because of "activesync" that is not available in those OS ( instead of it , Windows Mobile Device Center )

Hi there!
For quite a while now I'm searching for an app making it possible to print from the Qtek, via LAN, WLAN, IR, no matter (well, nearly)...
all I found was the HP MobilePrinting solution, which (at least on my device) doesn't work (installed on the machine as well as on the storage card). The app always complains that the hpprintcenter seems not to be certified or a component is missing... well.
The only other app I found was Vanguard Printing, which I can't test due to a lack of IR-printers... :?
Does anynone know a solution to get the HP app running or at least a complete different program making it possible to print?
Aah, before I forget it: what about freeware?
Thanks a lot.

WestTek maybe your solution...
WestTek just updated all their software to support WM5. One of the programs is called JetCet. It allows you to print from your device. They have a 14 trial period for all their software.
NOTE: The only problem I've found so far is that their printing software (currently) does not support IP printers. You cannot configure a printer with only an IP address. You must use a printer that has a dedicated print server.
I don't know if they (WestTek) plans to upgrade their software in the future that will support IP Printers.
Justin
BTW. I think their software works well. I've printed PDFs and PowerPoints (2 slides per page (and no, you can't change that)) and they look decent. Obviously, printing from a workstation is better, but for a mobile printing solution, it works very well.

i am going to google this to find them, but for others that come after me, and perhaps if I cant find them, how about a url to them/their product?
Here ya go......
www.westtek.com
Bachmann PrintBoy does it... aaargh.
I tried the WestTek product just to find it doesn't work for me. There are only a few (Canon, HP, Epson) network-printers supported and it was impossible to get it going with my HP JetDirect printserver... not a generic approach.
So at least my biggest fear came true: the most expensive program I tried is the only one working under WM5! I can't believe it...
Bachmann PrintBoy7 does the trick, although the built in 'configure' dialog didn't work for me - calling the appropriate executable solved the problem. Besides that it's a charm to configure.
Bachmann asks for 'only' 49.99 Dollars!
That's a lot of money for printing a page once in while!!!
And they don't support the WM5 NoteTaker .pwi file-format! Nobody knows why.
All this only because MS skipped the implementation of a printing service due to more resources... :x
Does really nobody how to run the HP PrintingService under WM5?
Any progs I don't know?
Take care.
Yul.
I believe the mobileprinting software from HP is for WM 2003 only. I don't think they've come out with a new driver for WM 2005.

HP no longer offers their Mobile Printing product -- they announced this some time ago on their web site -- so there will not be a WM5 version.
Hi, Is there anyway to conrtol the ppc from a pc. Although I love my kaiser, it's kinda anoin having to control two machines back and forth. So, I'm hoping to find a way to control both my pc and ppc from my pc…. Is this possible??
for example i'm using Pocket Controller enterprise http://www.soti.net I'm very satisfied with this app
Yes it is possible.
I use Pocket Controller Pro from SOTI (http://www.soti.net/default.asp?Cmd=Products&SubCmd=PCPro).
Very handy for SMS message typing, installing cabs, exploring and making screenshots
//edit phsnake beat me to it
http://www.mymobiler.com/ it's a freeware and allows you to
control your Kaiser on the PC. It shows your full Kaiser screen, you
can click with the mouse. But it does not support your hardware keys.

thanks guys, I'm gonna check out Pocket Controller Pro. since I don't know what the difference between enterprise and pro....

i also use mymobiler, its great.
Does anybody know of a program that could turn the kaiser into a remote for windows? I would like to use the touchscreen as a trackpad (like on laptops) and the keyboard to control my HTPC.
I found a program that does exactly that but it doesn't work with windows mobile 6. And I'm not completely sure the keyboard function works. It is called PPC tablet remote control suite (http://www.aacompserv.com/AACompWeb/Modules/PPCTablet/WhatIsIt.aspx)
Thank you!
i can suggest a bluetooth remote control:
http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/
it does the trackball part, but not the keyboard part.
I saw that one previously...but did not try it. Thanks for the help! I still can't believe something like that doesn't exist yet...guess I'll have to wait for PPC tablet to update if nothing else comes up
Hello,
I have just receive my new French Touch Diamond last week, and the first think I need is RDP client. I have check on google and it seems that Remote Desktop client are native installed on Touch Diamond with new functionality like Device Storage Mapping.
On my french version I can't find any trace of Remote Desktop, nor on the CD in the option apps.
So I have reset (factory) 2x the unit and it seems that RDP are not on the French Version.
If you have a Diamond Touch could you say if you have RDP Client ? And Are somebody able to extract from their rom so that we can instal it on french rom ?
Thanks a lot for your help ! ;-)
Just about the Diamond, I have in the Past TyTN and then TyTN II and I find that the new touchflo 3D ar nice but unsuable so it is slow, even with tweaks, in general I found the Diamond very slow, It comes Hot very quickly and the autonomy are poor, the VGA screen are very nice ;-)
I don't have it either
And what's your Rom Language ?, I have French 1.37.406.1.FRE. I have also try WM6_RDP_Finster, working very well on my old TyTN II but know with Diamond I was not able to invoke the virtual keyboard, so that I can't login :-(
I ve got the diamond 1.37.406.1.FRE and no remote control neither. Is there other solution?
If you go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402261
Scroll down the screen where you will find the download for remote desktop mobile.

It's English... I read about RD as well, but it seems it's not there. However, I think you can download it from the Microsoft site (not sure, though).

Ah, i found it... "\filterfs\" ... But unfortunately this is in the device memory, which is very limited capacity wise. Anyone got a tweak to remap the folder to internal storage? I searched the registry without results :/
Okay I have this installed on my diamond and have a few questions.
Im remoting onto a vista laptop, Im connecting okay.. however no matter what I set in the remote desktop mobile options, I cannot see any mapping for my handheld device to transfer files. Ive tried My Computer, Ive tried Network.. nothing. Why? Any advice?
Secondly, the pocketnow video demonstrating remote desktop mobile being run on the diamond in landscape mode. I see no option for this.. how can it be done?
Thirdly, if you run remote desktop mobile in full screen you seem to lose access to the disconnect button and SIP. Any suggestions?

This is how you can bring manual landscape rotation back to the Touch Diamond (registry hack):
http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=5484
Full screen mode does lose access to the SIP, so don't do that if you want to type. Optionally, you can launch the on-screen keyboard in Windows. You can still disconnect, by using the Start Menu in your Remote Desktop session as well.
Hi, I have tried searching for something like this for a while now, both in the forums and on the web.
So, for the question. I want to use my onboard keyboard on the X1 to control my PC, preferably via bluetooth. So when i press a key on my X1 keyboard my PC will register the same keystroke.
Is this possible, and have anyone seen a software or product similar or exact as i am describing?
Kind regards
Lemuren
sure it's possible

lemuren, i was also searching for a bluetooth keyboard / mouse program on my x1. I've found a program called Mobile Remote: http://www.mobilesrc.com/MobileRemote.aspx, that emulates a Human interface device. The advantage of this is, you don't need any drivers because windows and other operating systems already support these kind of devices. It's even possible to use the x1 keyboard and mouse on a Playstation 3!

I just downloaded this app yesterday and tested it on my Vaio Laptop. It appears that the physical keyboard works but it is always in FN mode (blue square button), so I end up typing the symbols and numbers instead of the letters. Wondering if there is a way to disable this when using the physical qwerty. The touch screen keyboard works well, but I would rather type with the actual keyboard.
Hello, guys.
It works!
Any luck figuring out how to fix the issue /disable the blue square on the physical keyboard?
thanks a lot

Nope, no luck. I found that the other program works better than Gremote (uses a server on the PC, so is more advanced). So if you want to setup the mobile as a mouse the MobileRemote is the better one.
