I want stock Android on my Legend!

So, I want a clean install of a stock Android rom for my Legend. I've had the Hero and I've had to wait for the updates. I like SENSE, but It's not a necessity for me. A lot of apps give same or better functionality to the phone than SENSE does.
I just want to be able to install the latest greatest straight from Google.

What you want. ISN'T POSSIBLE ON THIS PHONE!

em Yes it is,
Lots of sense free G1 and Hero Roms can be ported to the Legend. It just hasn't been done yet.
I am in the process of porting G1 Froyo Beta, but it isn't ready yet.

OR you can turn the Sense UI off!!!
and u will get the basic android 2.1 UI.
goto settings then applications and turn it off there.

I've found that Sense is glossy-bloat ware and I don't want it on my phone anymore. I'll search around and if a solution isn't within reach, I'm getting the Nexus istead.......annoys the heck out of me that I didn't in the first place, seeing the experience I had with the Hero (getting 2.1 NOW).

hmm i prefer sense i see it as the best GUI over android!

I'm working on a clean build based on:
- MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Legend online kitchen - r2
- LauncherPro (nice Home Screen)
- HTC Dialer
- HTC Camera
- Removing All other HTC apps (peep, stock..ecc.. since i we have better apps on market)
p.s. actually its working but i need to fix some. Anyone got the apk with original LockScreen?

I've been looking into that problem with lockscreen, and the Eclair version is not kept in an apk. It is in the android.policy.jar.
Im working on getting it working with my senseless rom

No more Updates to Rom as the new VanillaBean rom has made it obsolete!
I highly recommend flashing VanillaBean for anyone who wants the complete stock android experience

There was 2 FC's for me on first boot, restart after setup and then they should be gone forever.
Also Temporary fix for Lockscreen, Download Lockbot from the market - You can then install the HTC, iPhone, or Eclair lockscreen

Stock calender i think, but still sense Messages. If you can point me to some stock apks i will happily include them i just couldn't find any.

this exactly the reason why I would root my Legend Can you please please PLEASE add the circle battery mod into your ROM? I find it to be 100x better than the stock battery indicator

Can you send me a link to this battery mod please then i will include it.

I`m a big android noob but from what is in the thread (within the Desire forum btw) it seems it works only on de-odexed roms. Also I`m not sure what the size of the icons is considering the Desire/N1 have a higher ress screen.
Can`t post the link unfortunately but here is the path within the forum:

[HOW-TO] Circle battery with % in the middle (rooted)
Anyway. Thanks for your work so far on the ROM. Can you please estimate how much space is saved when you deleted all the sense ui applications?

Ok, Added an .zip attachment for Unlock with menu. Not sure if it will work, so if trying Nandroid backup before!

I would definitely welcome the stock android messaging app if possible to cook it into the rom. I'm yet to get into the details of cooking... Thou would perhaps the Mms.apk from cyanogen or another phone work, or would it require to be resigned etc???

Ok, i will try to include that. Nah if you change the update_script to include it, then when the whole zip is signed everything is signed, not individually

sounds good. I can probably get a hold of the Mms.apk from cyanogen or off my friend's motorola milestone if that would help.

Music.apk 2.2 froyo

I would like the android stock music player I have the one from the nexus one but when I go to install the apk on cog 2.2 it says installation failed. Any one have any ideas or a link to the stock android 2.2 music player?

Wouldnt you need to odex that goes with the stock music player app? It seems that any time someone tries to install just the apk it won't work.

I have the Cyanogen one that's I took from the Nexus One build of Cyanogen. Works fine.

a few day ago i see the m10 decoder to resize all the system and apps in sense 3.0 cuz the files in sense 3.0 are using the .m10 files, is there any m9decoder or anythingdecoder? i think there must be a guide or a program
we need a subforum for a NOOB to study how to become a developers from zero! at least how to edit/resize/simple port

I had no problems with it? flashed fine for me and booted up try re downloading it? or re transferring it to your SD.
also what recovery version do you have?

yup i already redownloading and retransfrerring it to my SD and i play with the script lol
i used the CWM v2.5.0.1 and v3.0.2.8(it says update script blablabla)

Ok , installed , instalation gone succesfuly .It booted.
A bit took the configuration few FC's but now it works. Keyboard doesn't work so far(I didn't reboot yet). Notification Bar is so smooth
Most apps doesn't fit.
USB connection doesn't work.SD card works choppy.No calculator
Turning off animation is to big
Somebody checked it under arco kernel ?

GPS doesn't work
HD youtube doesnt work (only sound plays)

Yeah alot of things need resizeing :/ but I haven't had any FC's and the rom is quite smooth tbh so could be a very nice project if people help and dare to switch from the mighty cyanogen

On arco kernel usb is working.
The procces com.htc.bgp has stopped unexpectedly all the time.
Font should be a bit smaller.
Linpack score:4,7 mflops on arco kernel.
Click personalize and go down to sound , nothing is working here.

i used cm-recovery 2.5.0.7 worked fine here
smooth, lot of resizing to do tho, and fixes, time will make this rom prefect

Try Touchwizz 4.5 launcher (it is in i9000 themes and apps)
When you install TW4.5, you will be able to install SGSII widgets.
