Email sync problem... HTC Viva - Touch Viva, MDA Basic General

Does anyone know of this problem? When I sync it often says that there was an error: "There has been a change made on your server that requires you re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last successful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?" When I turn off the Email sync option it works fine. How can I fix this? I'm using Vista.

ActiveSync Exchange Issues

I've just started using my new Kaiser and cannot get Exchange replicating through Active sync or Push. I keep getting the 85010014 error code.
Anyone have this issue...?
The first thing I would try is deleting all of the active partnerships, both the push and the Desktop ActiveSync partnerships and try again...
Also, what version of ActiveSync are you using on the desktop?

I know people were having this issue with an older version of ActiveSync...
Here are a couple of links:

Not sure if this these will help though...
It's weird, the Windows PC portion of the Active Sync is fine, the Microsoft Exchange section sits there for a while says "Sync. Folders", "Looking for Changes" and then fails
Very odd

Did you try deleting the server information and starting over?
I went as far as hard resetting the phone and deleting the profiles out of ActiveSync. It is difenatly a problem with Push, because I can sync the Calendars, Contacts and Email from Outlook on my PC. Just get the error message when using Push to sync.
I use push and I've never had an issue - it just works. I'm really not sure about this one - You could try searching Micro$oft's knowledgebase for the error number - sometimes there is actually a solution to an issue in there.
It appears to be only the Calendar having issues, contacts and mail work fine
Maybe check to see if you have any corrupt calendar entries... I had an issue once before with ActiveSync erroring out on another device: I deleted and re-added some of my calendar entries in Outlook and it cleared up.
Server issues
I have the same issue for a long time. Start by finding out if there are any errors in the W3Csrv log on your exchange server. Also from your mobile see if you can get to https://<your exchange webmail server>/OMA.

How did you found out which calendar entry was corrupted?
I have a similar problem with Calendar when I try to sync all the entries (ie, not limited to last 6 months): ActiveSync keeps on running and running - more than 20 minutes until I stop it.
I suspect it is due to some corrupted entries and I would try to fix them but I don't know how to find which ones they are (I have more than 500 entries, many of them recurrent ones).
Sorry for my English - I hope I have been clear enough.
Thanks

Yes...does sound like it may be an issue on the "pushing" side. Verify that your Exchange admin set your account up for syncing. For my company, I needed to install a Certificate file as well.

Sync problems requiring complete resync

I am getting a 80883001 support code error when doing ActiveSync.
I get a message saying "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-sync all items on your device....."
I want to solve this baddly, there is already another post about this regarding HTC Touch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334945&highlight=80883001
Does anyone knows why is this happening or how to solve it?
I already try the "always running ActiveSync" workaround that I found in the following URL https://forums.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/showpost.aspx?pageindex=4&siteid=65&postid=2384890 &sb=0&d=1&at=7&ft=11&tf=0&pageid=1 but it did not work.
I also tried to sync with another computer and It didnt work either.
i give it a push, cause i have the same prob and NO soulution! :-(

Windows Live syc problem

Hey,
I'm using t-mobile uk I can't seem to sync windows live? I've flashed lots of roms and still have the same problem? It just says sync failed reconnecting. When I initially put my password and it gets my emails and contacts it works fine. But when I try to sync using messaging on my ppc or if I sync from the today plugin it just fails!
anyone have a solution for this? I've tried to turn off the proxy on t-mobile still no luck
log into messenger first, then either sync your windows live or send recieve in windows live email. I think there is an authentication issue with windows live that gives the sync failed everytime. but if you are logged into messenger it bypasses the authentication process as you are already logged into the system and it lets you sync your email.
Microsoft have been made aware of this issue and have yet to come up with a way of fixing the problem. personally i think its an ms network error not a phone or software error
Cool i'll give it a go. it used to work before! wonder what they did...
i´m with the same problem, i used to work fine with msn and windows live but in these past days doesnt seems to work connection failed... don't know wasuppp lol anyone know a good msn aplication? tried fring and ebuddy but didnt like much...

I have input all settings but it doesn't want to sync
I had this same issue since it was a suggestion for AthineOS's newest M2D release which is like a cross hybrid email system between 6.1 and 6.5.
Partially Working
According to the Google help forums, email syncing is not active yet. After reviewing the site below, there is no mention of emails syncing
http://www.google.com/mobile/winmo/sync.html
I was able to get contacts and calendar syncing.
If anyone is experiencing error 0x80004005, trying removing calendar sync. After successful sync, add calendar back. If error continues, try adding an entry to your calendar.
was anyone able to sync multiple calendars with WINDOWs mobile??
i tried m.google.com/sync but it says my phone is not compatible.
Even after changing the language, it didnt work, i m just able to downloadthe page but no calendar options in there.
when I go to m.google.com/sync
it tells me - device is not supported
well, google agenda and contacts sync works fine for me.. did not do anything special.. just the abc from google..
working whit the rom from -G-(garmin) version 10... just the plain full version.. no M2D or something els..
Thanks for the Tip!!

I had this error and the suggested solution didn't work.
However, the opposite (removing contact sync, sync, add contact back, sync) DID work.
It does seem a bit of a strange procedure, does anyone know what is causing this?

I know this is a rather old message but I would like to share my knowledge as I searched for this 0x80004005 error for a while.
The trick is to disable the tasks in the syncing and then it works like a charme.

Google Sync with Diamond

Hey everyone,
Google recently released official sync support for Windows Mobile devices. Google Sync supports synchronization with Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Instructions can be found here.
The issue is that the instructions and respective screen shots do not correspond with the Touch Flo interface, and I see no way of inputting a server address within the Diamond's ActiveSync client.
Does anyone know how to set up Google Sync with the Diamond? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Elliot
Just follow the instructions from the link you provided.
I will start you off:
Start>Programs>ActiveSync>Menu>Add Server Source....
..and then follow the instructions from your link!
Thank you! I was confused because it asked for my email address before the server address. My calendar and contacts synced almost perfectly, but I still have a couple of issues that maybe you could resolve:
1. Despite that everything synced, ActiveSync shows an "Attention required" message that says,
"Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists, try deleted and then re-creating the device's sync relationships.
Support code:0x80004005"
2. Is there anyway to get the Diamond's calendar application to recognize and distinguish between the multiple calendars I have in Google Calendar?
Thanks again,
Elliot
Google sync is used only for contacts and calendar sync, so if you check the mail or task in the option of activesync, you will have an error.
Just check contact and calendar and enjoy.

I've had no luck in getting this to work. Always get this error 'ActiveSync cannot reach the server. Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct' Support code: 0x80072F78
Any ideas?

It will work as I've tried it setting up sever on the diamond, but you can also do it via activync.
I have stopped using it as I would get a couple of good syncs then the same error messages as your getting.
Also google and outlook do not play nice with each other.
All my contacts revert to Lastname_Firstname on my diamond, and the "file as" gets messed up.

Just configured the sync options on my Diamond (1) with WM6.5. But the contact sync works fine, but none of my google calendar items will appear in the calendar of my Diamond.
Is this due to WM6.5? Or are there other possibilities?
Well I successfully synchronized my HTC Diamond. But after this the ActiveSync on my handset would start automatically after regular intervals creating memory issues for me. I tried all the methods available on this forum to solve this problem but finally I had to Hard-Reset my handset. So pls try this on ur own risk.
I just configured my phone to sync every 4hr on and off-peak times, but only told it to sync contacts and it seems to be working pretty well.
Hopefully, this will reduce the amount of time it spend syncing and then I can let OggSync manage my calendar. Unfortunately, I synced my calendar and contacts first so I now have a bunch of duplicate events on my google calendar.
I wish I had know about this months ago... doh! Thanks!
