Hey!
I'm new to this stuff, don't be to hard to me!
What i have done yet:
1) Downloaded different Roms and created a dump of it, so i can compare them.
2) After this i, want to great my own Rom based of the German Qtek Rom.
For Comparison i took the "RIsidoro"-Rom.
i created of both the dump folder of the OS.
Now i want to add to the Qtek Rom for example CF2, Minimo and TotalCommander.
What i think i have to do:
-Copy the needed Files to the dump folder
-Edit the initflashfiles.dat
-Create a CAB in the Extended Rom to make the regestry entrys
My Problem is, i cant find a initflashfiles.dat in the Qtek Rom!
What i have done wrong?
Sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand my problem
Thanks for your reply,
MAPero
Sry guys for post again.
But i haven't found any thing in this forum what could help me!
Everywhere is said, to edit initflashfiles.dat
But there is no initflashfiles.dat.
I have found a second way i think,
Normal rom edit way: add the contents of the exported .reg files to default.rgu, making sure that you leave a blank line on the end, copy all the files to the \dump directory and edit initflashfiles.dat to copy them to the right directory on first boot. (remeber to remove the first two bytes - ff fe with a hex editor). then build your rom!
Bepe's rom edit way: create a folder '[your software name]' in the oem folder and get yourself a guid from here http://kruithof.xs4all.nl/uuid/uuidgen. create a blank file called '[yourguid].dsm and a blank text file called '[yourguid].rgu'. add the contents of the exported .reg files to '[yourguid].rgu' and make sure you save as unicode. then copy all the other files to the folder and create a blank unicode txt file called 'initflashfiles.txt' and use it like initflashfiles.dat in the first method except there is no need to hex edit out the first two bytes. then build your rom!

But i am not sure, what is meant by oem folder!?!? is the dump folder meant?
Does anyone remember way back there was a rom released that had a custom file explorer. It was just an exe file and it allowed you to delete things that the standard and resco file explorer wouldn't allow you to do....I know it was included in one of the WM5 roms and the single file was posted for download. I lost my HDD on my cpu and have been trying to locate what I remember. I cannot find this file. I know that if you copied it to the windows directory it would completely replace the built in file explorer.....
Anyone know where to find this???? I have searched but can't seem to locate it....
This File Explorer.exe allowed you to delet things from the rom...I thought it was part of a Dr. Putt rom a year ago or so....
hi all
it's already few days (and nights) that I'm looking for how to dump my french rom and I managed to dump the raw parts O 1 2 3 following all the tutorials with the tricky memory adresses but I cannot manage to rebuild it then
I extract it throught the kitchen after havin put the parts and the ruu signed in the baseRom folder but when i try to cook it with the builOS program
I indicate the ROM folder but there is always the file OS.nb missing
I have only a folder XIP with a file called boot.rgu inside the ROM folder
I had a look in the whole kovskykitchen folder, there is no OS.nb, just one called OO_SPL.nb created after extraction in the base ROM folder.
did I miss a trick ? sorry if so but I didn't find any help in the threads...
thanks guys

Have you tried copying 00_spl.nb to OS_SPL.nb and then re-building ?
sorry the file needed is called OS.nb and not OS_SPL.nb
yes I did it, rename the file 00_SPL.nb by OS.nb and put it the ROM folder,
then I indicated it into the buildOS soft package tool, it looks like it is workin fine and finish sayin work successful then I close it,
the dos window takes the relay but displays an error 'input file OS.nb.payload has no valid boot sector aborting...'
that's rude right ;°) ?

Hey guys, my first post here
I just got a Diamond and i installed this pack to make graphics run smoother.
The cab file installed this file HTCAPI.DLL in my Windows folder and it seems
to be the reason why the TF3D isn't working.
On the other thread this guy said he deleted that file (HTCAPI.DLL) and
everthing was working for him again.
I cant find a way to delete this file from Windows Dir. Total Commander cant
and file explorer cant.
Please help!
Like the Titel it says!
How i can do it on a Mac?
Choose on Windows i just easy use WinRar and thats all!
Buy a Windows PC!!!
j/k
The method I use is to simply unzip the mtz (I think I use unarchiver from memory) and then edit the files I want (you may also need to unzip the package files inside, depending on whether or not you have a new format theme).
Then, to remake the .mtz, I use a tool I found /somewhere/ on the internet that sadly I can not give credit for.
Here it is
Simply drag the theme folder you got from unzipping the original .mtz, on to this, and you'll have a perfectly working theme!
Thx works like a Charm
For me now easier than on Windoof
Edit files inside?

Rename any com.android files that you want to edit to .zip.
Then unzip them and you have the folders.
