**Bringing this thread back up because it's a serious concern of mine and I am really hoping that someone knows how to fix this**
Ok so I am running the SuperCSDI Modified by MLIGN. It is awesome. I love it. It's fast Yada yada yadaaa..
I am having a slight issue though. It's is not the application because I tried with several.
When I try to play music on this ROM, it doesn't play. The applications can't find the music in my /sdcard. When I go into Astro File Manager and try to start up music from there, it says "File type mp3 not found"
I'm guessing fixing this would involve flashing something or adding a library or something so I would be very grateful if someone could help me or point me the right way

I haven't had this issue at all, and I use my device to listen to music almost constantly. Also using SuperCSDI.

I'm using aruppenthals rom and would like ot get CV back on this device. There is a post on NAFT's thread (v3.2 ... 4 Flavors Total) where he says to go to post 4 and download the modified Opera.ini file, drop into Windows\Opera9 and install the cab file to make this feature work again. I can find neither file anywhaere. Can someone tell me where to find theese items and something a little more specific than 'somewhere in the 148 page thread.
you can use these two cabs and it should work again for you. one is the CV and the other is realplayer not to be confused with REALONE player. the actual controls will be a little garbled in the player since this was a cab Sakajati (chef) extracted for the tilt (qvga). vids play fine though.

All in one solution
Use the attached file, it an all in one solution. It will install Real Player and Cingular Video and it's much smaller footprint. Just remember to change your user agent to HTC-8900 with Advanced Config and to run the Hidden proxy.
only problem with that cab is it will keep asking you to save them to the device first. my cab will stream them, no need to save them.
I've tried both with no success. Either way Real palyer does not even open. The 'Streaming Media' player opens and then errors out saying something about not being able to. I'm guessing that it is not set to be the default player in this rom. I'm using rup's 3.3 .
First off you need to change the Opera.ini file. Its located (some ROM's may vary) in the "Windows" under the "Opera9" folder.
Lately there have been a lot of errors "File re-entry not allowed" with Streaming Media Player. I think it is a compatibility issue with the ROM's.
If you are getting this error there is no need to change it to Real Player if you don't want to. I am not going to take credit for this, just in finding it. I would give the page where I found it, but unfortunately I cant remember where. Below is a cab, install it to your device and it should play video again just fine. The only problem right now is the fact that the player doesn't match the screen size, but at least the videos play.
Both these files are in my CAB FILES BELOW on 4shared under AT&T Fuze, cab's, "fixes".

They won't work because streaming media player has registry settings to open when you click the button to stream the content. Most custom ROM's now come with it built in and make it uninstallable.
In order to change the "streaming content" to Real Player would require you to change those settings. Can be done, but without being able to delete the streaming media player, to me its just a waste of space.

So I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm sorta in the dark here. First off, it's taken me forever just to find a download of the AT&T CV cab file! (This is actually more about the blood feud between me and the XDA search engine. )
I seem to be missing something, though. Where do these two cabs, Opera.ini and Diamond Streaming Media, fit in the whole CV solution? Am I still supposed to install the 'ATT_Cellular_Video_v2.cab', but use this streaming media cab instead of the RealPlayer cab above? What if I already have streaming media installed? (Which I do. Using EnergyROM 3.0)
Also, for god only knows what reason, when I tried to start CV after installing the cab provided above, it started PIE, NOT Opera. And it said it couldn't find the "http://cingularvideo.cingular.com", which is what it defaulted to.
I've seen about a dozen postings about the Opera.ini file, but none of them tell you what to do after that! I suppose if you've gotten the "only on 3G" error, you're already far enough ahead of me to know that!
Anyway, If the CV app tries to get to a site that doesn't even exist, where do you go from there?!?
Hell, I don't even fully understand what the "CV" app itself does, if you can go through a browser and have some streaming video app installed, then what does this app do? Obviously, I've never even gotten that far!
BTW, I have tested to make sure my device it attached to the web. I can reach anywhere else. I'm also set up to use wap.cingular, and I have the hidden proxy installed.
Basically, I need help understanding which of the above installation files goes with which, and what the CV app is supposed to do when it starts, since I assume opening IE to go to an address it can't reach is not standard behavior!
Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!
P.S. The Opera.ini cab above contains an "Opera.ini.txt" file. Shouldn't it just be Opera.ini?
I also posted on the Meridian google group, but wondered if the problems I'm seeing might be due to these Vogue Android Builds.
I can browse my music collection, and play individual artists and
albums, and genres, but when I select "All Songs" I get a message
saying "Can't access SD card". I also get a force close or please
report error when selecting All from the PlayQ list.
Could this be a limitation of the software no being able to
load large music collections (2000+ songs)?
I'd really like to get this player working. It seems to have the right
idea with the rating tags that can be used to create custom playlists.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, help or info about other people seeing
this problem.

I'm not sure if this matters, but are you running android off SD? If so, that may be messing with the program's "accessing SD card"

your probably right about that. also look at the reviews for that application in the market. cause i know that meridian has always had problems. and when they fix those issues theres always new issues.
Thanks for the responses you all. I am running of SD, and I suspected that might be part of the problem. I'm not ready to jump to NBH yet (battery life is an issue for me), but I was thinking of trying the ext partition install to see if it helped. Meridian player does seem a bit buggy, but I haven't seen anything else (including on WM) that lets you edit the song rating tag and then compile playlists based on those ratings, so I'm hoping to get it working.

Battery life when running nand (nbh) is the same if not much better than from sd. and many people get better battery life on android than wm if that's what u mean.
I am having issues with the gallery in CM6 RC1. The gallery opens, but will only display pictures taken witht he camera since I installed this ROM. Is there a way to specify filepaths for the gallery to look in to find all of my other images? I have searched quite a bit for a solution, haven't seen this topic come up for anyone else. I'm not a dev, but can follow directions pretty well. Any help would be appreciated.
Just reboot the phone, that's what I did.
I've rebooted several times, also wiped the phone and reflashed everything. I installed a 2d version of the gallery, with the same result. Some of my albums also fail to show up in any music player...I can play them through file explorer, but can't even see them in the players. When I flash back to DD2.7 or 2.8, the files show back up where they should be.
try going into dev tools and start the media scanner... worth a shot
The media scanner didn't help, I had run that a few times already. Thanks though.
Try finding another program to edit photos, open and save them. I had a simular problem with my music, and went through all the songs with an mp3 tag editor doing that, and it all came back normal

Hi:
Since the AT&T Froyo update, I am having odd music playlist problems. I am using the stock media player., and all music is stored to external SD card.
When in the song list, to add a song to a playlist, I hold down on the song, and select add to playlist, and then choose the playlist. It does not ever show up in the playlist I chose. This is the same way I have always added songs, only now it won't work.
If I go to the appropriate playlist, and remove songs via the menu button, and then add a few songs, the changes work properly, EXCEPT after the phone is turned off then back on, the changes disappear, and the original songs that were removed are still there, and the songs that were added are NOT there.
Any thoughts on what is causing this? I am desperate to fixe this. Every time I want to listen to music I have to go in and add/delete songs, which as you can imagine is hugely inconvenient.
Any thoughts will really be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Hi again:
I just tried using PowerAmp music player, and the same problem happens as with the stock player
Bump.
This is really a huge problem for me, any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated.
Thanks!
Have you had this problem on any custom ROM?

Hi:
Thanks so much for your reply. I have never flashed a custom ROM. I can however say that I did not have this problem on stock 2.1.
Thanks again!
I actually had this problem on a few roms I was using. A reinstallation of the music app seemed to fix it. In this case, a reset may help unless you want to root and remove/add the app back in the system/app folder.

Hi:
Thanks so much for your suggestion.
I am already rooted. Do I actually go into the system folder and remove it, paste it somewhere else, and add the same app, or do I need to find a file of the music app online to replace the original?
Thanks again!!

That's about it. I'd cut and paste it somewhere else just in case then move the new on in. You can probably grab the app from a lot of ROMs that use the Samsung Music Player or just search for it somewhere. It should be called MusicPlayer.apk

One last question. Do you think this would affect the proper functioning even in Poweramp, because this problem is occurring when I use that also.
Thanks again!

So, I am running ParanoidAndroid on my GN and its f'cking amazing, but...
Something that I miss very, very much is the stock music player!
I have a lot of music and my twisted mind likes to create and organize playlists in a certain way and this is where I'am getting frustrated...
Samsung stock music player has a magical option which I cannot find, or I'am just to stupid to find in every other music player I tried
After creating playlist by selecting that playlist it shows all my music and that magical options-- ADD MUSIC, and then option to select all or just a few via checkboxes!!
I dont care abaut equalizer and all that other stuff, I just want back that simplicity!!
Please help- call me stupid, show me light, recommend me app that can do that- just HELP!!
Here is what you are looking for...

Thanks, tried it but thats not it!
I have to add songs one by one. I did found thread which states basically that I cant get what I want because someone has to port apk from /system/app because its linked in samsungs Tw framework and will not work with aosp rom no matter how i push it!
Or something like that...
Wish that i can provide link to thread but cant find it right now(working)!
If I got something wrong abaut this, KILL ME, I'AM A NOOB

LMAO, don't think your a NOOB if you can flash your phone with a custom ROM. Any ways have you tried creating your playlists on iTunes or WMP and just exporting the playlist to your phone

was hoping that it wouldn't come to that, guess I was wrong
Anyways, thanks very much for helping,
Will try to find app on the play store than can do what I want
I flashed Paranoid Android to my Note coming from JB and everything's awesome. However, I too, really miss my stock Samsung music player. Did you in any way find a solution?
Btw, I backed up the apk of my music player using ES File Explorer before flashing. But when I try to install from it, I get an "Install failed" error. Any suggestions?
I really connect with your post because I also edit the tags on my mp3's in a particular manner which used to go really well with the stock Samsung music player.
I have exactly the same issue, everything else about Paranoid Android is amazing!!!
I have now started using WinAmp because I couldn't find a solution, but I would love to be able to get the stock music player back if it's possible or something similar
afaik, it's most likely not going to work because the stock music player relies on touchwiz framework, which paranoidandroid isn't based on.
