XPERIA dead. howto return to original spl?

Hi guys
i think my xperia is dead. when i turn it on it shows the logo for some seconds and it restarts and keeps on doing this forever.
How this happened.
I tried SEUS with vista stopped at 11%
tried mtty
set 16 0
task 14 0
boot
and the phone begin to restart in infinity
i installed a uk original rom but the spl remained still Olinex
i don't know how to return to original spl so i can send it to the warranty...
pls help!!!!

extra how to: how to restore Stock SPL for warranty reasons.
step by step:
- this is ONLY for warranty reasons. i.e. the device needs repair and you have to send it to htc to get it serviced. if you plan to restore hardspl then don't even bother flashing this stock package, unless you are some kind of hacker/dev
- IMPORTANT: be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
- now the steps
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. download X1_HardSPL_v1 too, from this post.
3. run the hardspl package, but do not press Next button i.e do not go ahead with flash yet.
4. at this point, take the extracted stock SPL, a RUU_Signed.NBH file, and overwrite the other RUU_Signed.NBH in hardspl package.
5. go on with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to tricolour screen with 0.52.OliNex version), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+1. to verify, enter bootloader (see description above in this post), and check version number on tricolour screen. it should say 0.72.0000.

well after not sleeping all night yesterday now it's working
i don't even know how it began again to work
i did a flash of a stock rom it stopped at 10% then a hard reset (didnt work initially) then flashed again hardspl and it could do the hardreset.
im si happy it's working again
i don't count that much on se warranty

Sometimes the problem is in the incompatibility of Hard SPL with your ROM. Same happened to me with Diamond. Only flash another rom and problem solved

I have the same problem and I must install windows XP in another hard disk for install the x1 software...

If you can find the dowloaded .nbh file on your machine, you can copy it to your microSD card, rename it to Kovsimg.nbh and flash from bootloader that way.
However I couldn't find where the SEUS was saving the file.

Well my problem was very strange because i could flash the firmware through microsd or RUU successfully but it didnt boot. It just showed the logo for some seconds and rebooted again. I also tried many commands with mtty like task 28, task 2a (which make it just appear a white screen and nothing else). anyway the only thing to make it work was to hard reset and then flash the hardspl again...
after flashing the hardspl the hardreset began normally.

Does anyone know how to do the hardspls - Yes it should go to tricolour screen now and say 0.52.OliNex.MFG (this is SSPL!).
but then the error message is coming and no
"Hard-SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done"

Phone Stuck at Sony Ericsson screen

Helpppppppp...lol...not sure what to do here. Tried searching the forum for solutions and I am stumped.

Does it get stuck like that everytime or just this time? If it's just this time, try restarting the phone.
If that doesnt work, pull out the battery and put it back in.

tried a rom switch now it just sits there.

flash a ROM YOU have previously tested to flash OK
put that rom on your sd card, "kovsimg.nbh"
go to bootloader and flash
PS be sure to give your phone a good battery charging time first, then disconnect the usb cable and remove- reinsert the battery to proceed

same response, just sits @loading...

I assume you were flashing the X1A ROM and the flash procedure finished. I also assume you successfuly Hard-SPLed your phone before flashing the new ROM. I assume you flashed from your PC (USB cable) and you are under Vista. I asssume you had Touch-IT ROM previously (based on other threads where you have posted)
Please help us to help you:
Don't panic better tell us (describe) what where you doing when your phone got stuck

The x1a wouldnt flash would get to 72 percent and stop everytime. Yes I did the hspl. Yes it was via usb cable. And finally yes I did have the Touch IT rom installed. Now it will do nothing but sit at the sony ericsson screen, or if I enter intot he bootloader it will sit there. Is not charging,no usb connection outside of that.When I try to upgrade from the sd card it gets to the loading screen and thats all.
As I posted earlier the bootloader says this

If in the bootloader It will start to flash then give me a connection error and ask to recover, the recovery will completye and it still will sit at the sony ericsson screen or the bootloader screen.

All of your efforts will be useless if you have less than 50% of battery charge: your phone will always refuse to flash.
I suggest you to fully charge the battery to 100% (in other phone or an external charger) and then try to re-flash
After charging the battery, try the sony ericsson update utility linked above

Well I tried one last time to flash the phone with a generic sony ericsson firmware from the sd card and this one is updating, we will see if it completes......cross your eyes,fingers,legs....lol

Well, well. Again same n00b problems Always and always on any htc device, before flashing anything like rom, radio, splash etc, FIRST FLASH HARD SPL!!!! Than you can do everything you want
edit: You have wrong spl version. Verify the screen shows 0.72.OliNex (or 0.52.OliNex MFG) in bootloader mode

Actually i DID do the hspl first,dont know what went wrong with this thing.

To illustrate above post, this, my friend, is the stock SPL. Aka, hard-SPL was not successfully flashed on your device. That is why ROM updates won't complete. I guess you reset you SPL somehow, reflash it.

Herald wont turn on, only bootloader mode

my phone is hard spled. things went fine after hard spl, i was able to flash 2 roms, the last one was juststablev2. after one day my phone started to freeze, random crashes, finishing with a "white screen" and then resets. and after a couple of crashes the phone coulnt even load windows anymore, after the splash screen it continiued to reset. and now, the phone dosnt gets on anymore, it only goes to bootloader (not when you turn on the phone, it cant be turned on, only pressing cam button and resetting turns the phone on and you can only be in bootlader. ) i tried everything, readed almost everything in xdadevelopers, tried to flash with shipped roms, tried to flash with custom roms, tried to flash from pc, to flash from sd card (and yes i know everything to do becouse i did my earlier flashed with sd card, all went without any problem). it just looks the phone is dead, but can enter into bootloader. do anyone have any idea ? ill be realy very thankfull if someone can think something about my problem.
ps : my SPL is 4.70.yang

You can't flash your carrier ROM from bootloader mode via USB?

No, i can not. i forgot to mention that every rom install attempt is turning back with the error 244 : invalid model id.. Just one time, i did get a message, when i was trying flash with the juststablev2, it gave me an error about certificate. but not the same sd card, same rom, gives me nothing, just goes to bootloader mode after checking the sd card.

hopefully 1 of you guys can help.
i flashed a dutty rom on my blackstone a while ago, and everything went fine. then a month or so later, for no reason, my fone just shuts off, 5 or 6 times a day. so i decided to flash the original software to see if its a hardware prob and then hopefully get the fone replaced.
the only problem is i managed to sync my fone ONCE since i put dutty's rom on and never since then. even in boot loader the fone only ever says "serial" and never, ever usb. i've tried different leads, different pc's, and these leads and pc's will connect to my old trinity which still flashes a dream!
so i reckon there must be some connection prob in the blackstone itself. any thoughts?
i read somewhere that you can flash from the memory card. so i got a rom, and copied it to the root of the card, then started in bootloader. it flashed up a grey screen with some writing on, then straight to the bootloader screen so fast, i never got chance to read what it said. did i not get something right?
the rom is titled "BLACIMG.nbh" on the card

First off all Flashing queries should be posted in this thread.
To answer your question.......If you are only getting 'serial' at bottom of bootloader I'd recommend flashing original stock rom which came with your device first before trying to flash a cooked rom. This original stock rom can be flashed even if it states 'serial' in bootloader (note - this is the only rom this will work with). Stock roms can be found here. Once you have flashed this stock rom, use this guide to flash rom
For your info, flashing from sd card should be done as follows:
Copy BLACIMG.nbh into the root dir of your Storage Card.
Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
Turn off your device by using the Power Button
If you use HardSPL: Go to bootloader mode. Push and hold Vol Down + press Power button. The device will display a message and offer you to flash.
If you use USPL: Remove your microSD card first to prevent starting the flash, then go into bootloader mode. When in bootloader mode insert the card and follow the instructions on the USPL page to start USPL. The device will restart into USPL and will now present you the message to flash.
As soon as presented the message, push Power button to start flashing or Volume Down button to cancel.
The whole procedure will take about 3 minutes. After you finish and see the relative message, soft reset your device, you are ready.

hi guys, i have a problem, ive tried to instal new rom with hard SPL and i had some error during instal, so i canceled it... then my HTC rebooted and is stucked on HTC screen (after circa 15 sec appear in down left corner R, G, D with some nubers and thats it, help me please

Please provide better details.
What does your Bootloader screen show for SPL? (Soft reset phone and hold Volume Down before boot starts until you get to tri-colored screen)
1.33.00 or 1.83.Olinex, or?

Where it says SPL - 1.33.0000, if you successfully HSPL, it will say 1.83.Olinex.
I suspect you didn't verify your SPL flashed correctly before you attempted to flash the ROM? If so, this is not good.
Hard reset (Reboot phone and hold both Volume Keys before device starts to boot, and continue holding them untill you get to the white screen, then follow the prompts.)
If you can get back to stock with a hard reset, I suggest you go here and do some reading.
If it gets stuck at the same screen, you will need to find your stock ROM. You can hopefully find it from HTC's site with your Serial Number.
Once you get your stock ROM, connect your phone to your PC and go to Bootloader. Once it displays 'USB' instead of Serial, run the .exe for your stock ROM.

i tried to dl stock ROM from HTC.com, but it says:
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
im not sure if im on the right side, but there are only 4 options...
i downloaded original update, but from other side and while phone was connected to PC with Red green blue screen i opened the RUU everything went good until status bar (on PC and phone appeared status bar with % as it started installing, but then error) :/

So hard reset was unsuccessful?
Try flashing from SD card.
Right click on the Stock ROM and Extract to a folder.
Place the ruu_signed.nbh file renamed to TOPAIMG.nbh on the root of your SD card and then enter bootloader.
This will initiate the flash and hopefully it won't get stuck at 0%
You can also do this with the .nbh file from hspl.
Perhaps you should try to do HSPL .nbh first, because your OS is locked, it will ONLY accept the exact replacement ROM.
Also, I would suggest taking some time to read and learn about this stuff before diving in head first.
The link I provided previously is very thorough.
Take a look at the MTTY thread after you read about flashing and HSPL.

Make sure it is 'TOPAIMG.nbh' exactly without quotes.
What was the error you received when you attempted from your PC?

No, unless you get HSPL to flash first.
If you successfully installed a ROM, it would not boot up because your OS is still locked.
Use this .nbh which is for HSPL 1.83. If you can get this to flash, do the same with HSPL 2.51, then you can flash to any ROM.

Download the SPL 1.83.zip and extract the .nbh file.
Rename it to TOPAIMG.nbh and place on SD card
Enter bootloader mode and pray.
With luck, it will complete to 100%
Then you go back to bootloader and VERIFY your SPL says 1.83.Olinex. (This is the step you skipped before you attempted to flash a ROM, and you have bricked your device as a result)
Without luck, it gets stuck at 0%
Then you need to read up on MTTY to recover your device.
If you think you have your EXACT stock ROM, you can do the same with the .nbh file you extract from that, as previously instructed and get back to stock first before worrying about HSPL.
Basically HSPL unlocks your OS to be able to accept updates. Without it, you can only update from the stock image.
So your choices are, to try to HSPL, or try to get back to stock. Both can be done the same way, in bootloader using respective .nbh file.
I think you are looking to shortcut this stuff and it will only lead you to headaches, unless you take some time to read and learn.
Now, you never did answer;

What was the error you received when you ran the RUU from your PC?

so i renamed that file, put it on card, card to phone, pushed VolDown and turned on. It flashed with loading and then again "No image file" and back to boot screen
i did few hard resets
error when i tried that "official ROM" was that: Error 294: Invalid render ID
This update cannot be aplied on this device
i try older ROM

Alight, your 294 error indicates its the wrong ROM for your device.
No Image File indicates that bootloader isn't recognizing the file.
Make sure your SD card is formatted to Fat32, you may want to try a 2-4gb card just to be sure. Sometimes larger cards get errors.
Since you can't find your stock ROM, you need to get the HSPL.nbh to load first.
If you can get the 1.83.Olinex to flash, continue the same process for HSPL 2.51 .nbh file.

i connected phone with pc and try to instal Topaz-HardSPL_V5_00R5_183HSPL but its stucked on 0%

Well, we got it to recognize the image which is good.
Sounds like you did everything correctly, it just doesn't always work.
I think you have 3 options here;
1. Try to find your stock ROM and flash either from PC in bootloader or from SD card.
2. Read about MTTY and how to use it to flash to your phone and recover, but I still think you need your stock ROM to do this.
3. Warranty return- just tell em it froze, don't mention what you have done to it.
I have one other thing we can attempt here.
Download the enclosed file and unzip it to your PC.
Connect phone to PC and go into bootloader, then run Task29.exe.
With any luck this will force it to load HSPL.
Let me know what happens.

i tried ROMUpdateUtility, task29everything seems to work, but alwways stucks on 0%...
úroblem is, that my phone isnt originaly mine, i bought it from one guy, (couldnt be problem that it is MDA Compact V?)
